Fans of Cartoon Network's Aqua Teen Hunger Force series (part of the cable channel's Adult Swim programming) know what they're in for with this feature-length extension of the nearly-indescribable animated show. Set in a rundown, Jersey suburb, Aqua Teen concerns the misadventures of three human-size characters who happen to be fast food refuse: the crude Master Shake, a discarded milkshake in a cup similar to those from McDonalds; skeptical Frylock, a flying, cardboard box of french fries; and the personable Meatwad, a piece of expired, red beef of unknown origin. Together, they go in search of a missing piece of an exercise machine that happens to be more than an exercise machine, placing them on a collision course with the likes of Oglethorpe and Emory, a pair of jagged, ridiculous creatures from the future who travel with a robot companion claiming to be the Ghost of Christmas Past. They also encounter Dr. Weird, a mad scientist given to disguises and who seeks revenge against the Hunger Force; McPee Pants, a rapping spider who wears a shower cap and diaper; and the hilarious Ignignokt and Err, two-dimensional villains from the ancient days of pokey, Atari video games. Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro, series creators and writers-directors on Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, are wildly entertaining class clowns, but they expect the rest of us to follow them into their surreal world of postmodern animated nuttiness. The rewards, however, are plentiful. --Tom Keogh

Supersized Giant Jazzercising Robots.......2007-09-17
If you're a fan of Aqua Teen Hunger Force (ATHF), you have very low expectations of the show. ATHF involves three symbols of fast food: the insane Master Shake (Dana Snyder), the lovably moronic Meatwad (Dave Willis), and the super-intelligent Frylock (Carey Means). They are exactly what they sound like: walking (sometimes floating), talking shakes, piles of meat, and boxes of fries. This is not an ironic fact lost on the producers; at various times, other people who encounter the Hunger Force (like Carl, the shut-in voiced by Dennis Franz) comment on the strangeness of these bizarre alien beings who happen to act like teenagers.
There are other beings who happen to harass our protagonists, including spiky aliens, aliens that look like they came from an Atari 2600 video game, and aliens that might be time traveling robot turkeys. But that's largely irrelevant, because ATHF isn't so much a universe as it is performance art, with the topic of the night playing out to its inevitable conclusion. In the vein of much British humor, plotlines and continuity are irrelevant. Characters argue with each other, fight with each other, and even kill each other. Sometimes, Frylock gets tired of his idiot roommates and just leaves. Sometimes, Master Shake's insanely far-fetched plans destroy the world. And sometimes, Meatwad kills Master Shake.
ATHF, unburdened by any real anchors to reality, is thus free to explore whatever, whenever, and wherever, the plot meandering to some illogical conclusion, often played for laughs but sometimes just to torture a particular character to death. 15 minutes of this is hilarious, and it's pretty obvious that ATHF is meant to be watched by college kids with short attention spans. And adults like me who have 15 minutes before going to work.
So why make a movie? Or to be more precise, why make a movie titled Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters?
The dodge is that it reveals the origins of the ATHF, but that's silly. For one, ATHF's comedic value is precisely in the complete and utter lack of explanation as to why fast food is living in New Jersey. For another, ATHF is about conflict between various characters for no good reason other than to dance for our entertainment. And that's precisely what the movie does, although it wears a little thin after the prerequisite 15 minutes normally allocated to the television show.
Explaining the plot of the movie is pointless, because it's not meant to be explained. It involves a talking watermelon, a mad scientist, Bruce Campbell voicing a chicken McNugget (of course), Space Ghost, the reincarnated soul of MC Pee Pants, the CIA, jazzercising giant robots that poop little jazzercising robots, and Abraham Lincoln's time travel shenanigans. Aren't you sorry you asked?
Your perception of all this is really dependent on your perception of the show. It won't turn you into a fan. In fact, the entire intro is a joke on those "let's go out to the movies" dancing food characters, with various angry incarnations of movie junk food screaming to thrash metal, "You came here. Watch it. Don't like it? Walk out."
I didn't walk out. If you're a fan of ATHF, you won't either.
nooo.......2007-09-15
I was watching this with my brother and we had no idea what the hell was going on after around 10 minutes of the movie and turned it off, it was horrible. The tv show is great but the movie sucks. Don't waste your time with this.
Finally...more than a 12 min edition of AQHF!! .......2007-09-14
Excellent movie!! Explains the origin of the Aqua Teen's. Star's every character that's been in the show. Is there going to be another??? Can't wait!!
Laugh your head off.......2007-09-14
This movie is so funny! I think aque teen is a series that you either love or you hate and we love it. We laughed continously throughout the movie. If you love the television series then you will love this movie.
Great... but only if your a hardcore fan.......2007-09-14
I've waited for an ATHF movie for... well, since i first saw the show. After finally watching it I've very satisfied. But, there are so many jokes and allusions that would not make sense unless you've seen most of the television episodes. Almost every character from the show is featured in some way, so you kinda need to know their back story.

Sir Richard Attenborough's 1982 multiple-Oscar winner (including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Ben Kingsley) is an engrossing, reverential look at the life of Mohandas K. Gandhi, who introduced the doctrine of nonviolent resistance to the colonized people of India and who ultimately gained the nation its independence. Kingsley is magnificent as Gandhi as he changes over the course of the three-hour film from an insignificant lawyer to an international leader and symbol. Strong on history (the historic division between India and Pakistan, still a huge problem today, can be seen in its formative stages here) as well as character and ideas, this is a fine film. --Tom Keogh

Customer Reviews:
a majestic masterpiece................2007-09-09
GANDHI is nothing short of a beautiful work of cinematic art. Director Lord Richard Attenborough beautifully recounts the life of the late, great Mahatma Ghandi. His journey as an aspiring young lawyer in South Africa is forever changed when he is thrown off of a train for being a "kaffir" (a pejorative term for dark-complected South Africans). It was then that he realized just how biased the laws were against Indians, and, thus, began his life long dedication to non-violent protest as well as working as a proponent of the campaign to emancipate India from the oppressive British rule.
Ben Kingsley beautifully portrays the title character and won a well-deserved Academy Award for his performance. The cinematography is gorgeous, the supporting cast works great together as an ensemble, and the production truly honors Gandhi and his message. This film is one of the most important historically-based biographical films out there. See this today.
A treasure to own.......2007-08-26
I was born many decades after the Mahatma's passing, and was privileged to see this picture when it premiered in our town in India. I bought the DVD so my children could learn of the man who played a central role in setting India free.
It is in some sense, entirely befitting that the movie was made by a Britisher, and an actor of British/Indian origin in the lead role. Other reviwers have complained of a bias -- I see none, except perhaps a bias towards the deification of Gandhi. I would have liked to see more of the human side of the Mahatma in the movie.
The DVD has been beautifully mastered, and plays very well on an HDTV. It definitely has a place in the library of anyone else interested in the impact of Gandhi's principles on history.
Beautiful Film.......2007-08-24
The film opens with Gandhi's assassination. The next scene, his funeral, is one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history. Attenborough managed to recreate Gandhi's funeral on January 31st, 1981, the 33rd anniversary of the actual funeral. It is estimated that nearly 400,000 people were on hand to be a part of the filming the recreation. This film was made before CGI, so the funeral scene is probably the last live action crowd of that magnitude that will ever be filmed.
Chronicling the rich, unforgettable life of a one Mohandas K. "Mahatma" Gandhi - played to shocking perfection by the wonderful Sir Ben Kingsley -this is a film that I can say really, deeply affected me with its power, its scale, and of course, its timeless message of love and non-violence. As a matter of fact, ever since I first saw the film, and became much more aware of the back story, I can also say that Gandhi is now one of my biggest role models in life. I cannot fully express how much this great man's way of thinking - his words, his struggles, his accomplishments - has affected my own.
Ben Kingsley played Gandhi. He was the perfect for the role. He resembled the real Gandhi. He was young enough to portray Gandhi as a young man. He is a British actor that nailed the British influenced Indian accent. He is a wonderful actor that was patient and humble with such an important part. And he was a relatively unknown actor at the time, so the "big-time actor" persona did not get in the way of viewing the film.
No other film biography I ever have seen works so well. It will stand the test of time and inform multiple generations.
Watched this when .......2007-08-14
I was younger and was bored out of my mind. Watched it this evening and was enthralled. A very good film about Gandhi. Excellent movie showing the truth about his life and struggle to bring independence to India and freedom to humans.
Gandhi.......2007-07-06
The multiple-Oscar-winning "Gandhi" explores the life and principles of an extraordinary man who became an enduring example of holiness, humility, and humane resistance. Ben Kingsley inhabits his role with saintly authority, brilliantly conveying Gandhi's charisma and unwavering courage, while Candice Bergen (as photographer Margaret Bourke-White) and John Gielgud (as Lord Irwin) also shine in their respective roles. Melodramatic epic sequences--especially the Salt March and massacre scenes, which required Attenborough to direct 300,000 extras--are handled with graceful verisimilitude. A deeply moving, masterful epic.

The fight for women's voting rights has rarely been given as dramatic a treatment as in Iron Jawed Angels. Hilary Swank (Boys Don't Cry) and Frances O'Connor (Mansfield Park) star as second-wave suffragettes Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, who led the final fight for the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Though the movie sometimes tries too hard to avoid the stigma of a period piece (the soundtrack features electric guitars, Swank has a steamy moment in a bathtub, and the editing is jagged and flashy), the mounting energy of the fight--and the increasingly nasty opposition--gains real momentum when a wartime picket line leads to Paul, Burns, and their sisters-in-arms being arrested on trumped-up charges and imprisoned. The actors--including Julia Ormond (Smilla's Sense of Snow), Angelica Huston (Prizzi's Honor, The Grifters), and Brooke Smith (Vanya on 42nd Street)--give fervent, determined performances. --Bret Fetzer

Stunning combination of modern savvy and historical spicy.......2007-08-06
Although some reviewers may argue for the small historical inaccuracies in the movie (the music, the clothing, Alice Paul's romance with the cartoonist, etc), the overall purpose of the film is not historical accuracy. It is to portray the last era of suffragettes (Alice Paul, Lucy Burns, Carrie Chapman Catt) in a modern light, to show that despite what many think, the past was just as multicolored and vibrant as the lives we live today. Indeed, it is a sobering thought that just one hundred years ago, long after the Revolutionary and Civil Wars were fought, women did not have the right to vote and were told to stay home. This film shows the sacrifices that women in the past have made so that finally everyone, men and women, are able to vote in the United States of America.
The suffragettes were never better.......2007-06-12
Just when you thought nobody could make an interesting and funny and compelling film version of the women's movement, along comes this picture.
It blends funky camera movements with stellar performances (watch out for Frances O'Connor) and songs by Lauryn Hill and Sarah Mclachlan that are a shocking but fitting surprise.
The movie can be gritty at times (the scenes in prison) and frustrating (watching these women's struggles) but it is very rewarding in the end. If you care at all about this time in history (or about women's history in general), you'll be grinning by the end of this movie.
The friendships and the hardships and the difficult decisions these women shared are depicted and acted like it's rarely been seen before.
I highly recommend this movie. It is edifying, stylistically different, realistic, and it has the added virtue of being entertaining and of making people care. It makes you wanna get up and go vote.
Iron Jwaed Angels.......2007-06-08
This movie is excellent. I am a high school social studies teacher. Iron Jawed Angels' is great for teaching the 19th Amendment and during March (Women's History Month). This movie is required viewing for my students. I have designed questions and reflective discussion groups around the movie.
Iron Jawed Angels.......2007-06-06
A riveting portrayal of Alice Paul and the women's struggle while demanding the right to vote. When I first saw this movie, it completely blew me away and I loved every moment of it (excluding the unnecessary romance and masturbation scene - but hey, it is from HBO). However, upon watching it again I find more problems with it as a feminist as well as from a filming standpoint. A lot of poor shots that attempt to recreate the action impact ideology that is so attached to American film. Definitely worth a watch if you get the chance.
Strong film about a very Historic Era.......2007-05-27
Throughout time, history has proven itself to fill our imaginations with stories of perseverance and determination, only to find ourselves repeating the life lessons of our ancestors over and over again. Occasionally, an exceptional example to the contrary occurs, as we see in the woman's suffrage movement of the early 20th century. Iron Jawed Angels, HBO's dramatic and emotionally stirring fictional account of the trial and tribulations endured by the women activists involved in this fight, is a film that does just that. Released on DVD in the fall of 2004, the film reveals in the battle between traditonal culture and values, and a new class of bravado and progressivism that has endured for years benefiting both past and future activists of equal rights.
The film stars Hilary Swank as Alice Paul, a young defiant yet charismatic woman growing up in a time when most would rather see her role as a bright, contemporary leader regulated to cleaning the house and making the families dinner. Swank does neither, as we see her embark on a drama filled journey of conflict and betrayal to secure the voting rights for American woman and witness the pain and hardship all women involved in this movement are forced to endure. The film builds on this as it concludes with her quest finally ending with the passing of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on August 26th, 1920.
At times, I did feel like I was given an intermission of sorts, as we witness theme transformations and plot deviations in the form of a less than stellar romance involving Swanks lead character and a widowed but determined Washington Post editor brilliantly portrayed by Patrick Dempsey. Francis O'Connor plays the remarkably likable but slightly vulnerable Lucy Burns, a sidekick of sorts who revels in the day she herself can settle down for marriage and a family to call her own. Legendary film veteran Angelica Houston tops off the films honors with her excellent and riveting portrayal of the leader of the National Woman's Suffrage Organization.
An excellent example of how everyday woman can bring about change and optimism in modern day society, I felt enlightened and somewhat motivated after viewing Iron Jawed Angels. Questions I had about the treatment of the activists had been answered, for I had no idea why Swank and her cohorts had been labeled the `Iron Jawed Angels' before seeing the film. Witnessing a scene in which Swank is held down in a confinement chair while forcibly feed liquid nourishment as to combat her fasting crusade and avoid a martyrdom, I now had a new found understanding of what it meant to truly dig in and fight for your beliefs.
Interestingly enough, discussions in my college Modern American History class that I've had the opportunity to be involved in have really helped in my understanding of how events of the past, even some that may seem trivial in comparison to modern day conflict, can take hold and shape how a culture looks at itself for generations to come. Minority based civil rights of the 1960's would prove a keen example of this, as African Americans could look into the past for one of the first times in our nations history and find role models in the woman that suffered unspeakable defiance in the face of ever changing and turbulent times.
Had it not been for the courage and determination of Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, along with hundreds if not thousands of other woman activists that held their ground and fought for suffrage rights, I believe that America would be less of a nation, one still involved in disagreement and inner turmoil over equal rights regardless of gender. Thank God for these women of the past that made history.

Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie are rich, beautiful, and oh-so chic as denizens of the night. Dressed in sleek outfits and stylish sunglasses, they haunt rock & roll clubs on the prowl for young blood, whom they bring home to their impossibly luxurious mansion for a late-night snack. Being a vampire never looked more sexy, but there's a price: Bowie starts to age so fast he wrinkles up in the waiting room of a doctor's (Susan Sarandon) office. The agelessly elegant Deneuve, evoking Delphine Seyrig's Countess Bathory from Daughters of Darkness, is perfectly cast as a millenniums-old bloodsucker who seeks a new mate in Sarandon and seduces her in a sunlight-bathed afternoon of smooth, silky sex. Tony Scott's (Ridley's brother) directorial debut, adapted from the Whitley Strieber novel, revises the vampire myth with Egyptian inflections and removes all references to garlic and crosses and wooden stakes--these bloodsuckers can even walk around in the daylight--but the ties between blood and sex are as strong as ever. Scott's background as an award-winning commercial director is evident in every richly textured frame and his densely interwoven editing, but the moody atmosphere comes at the expense of dramatic urgency. At times the film is so languid it becomes mired in its hazy, impeccably designed visual style. In its own way, The Hunger is the perfect vampire film for the '80s, all poise and attitude and surface beauty. Sarandon talks candidly about the film in the documentary The Celluloid Closet. --Sean Axmaker

Ethereal.......2007-08-21
What can I say? This is one of my all time favorite films. It's a vampire story but not of the traditional kind. In this one Catherine Deneuve's character is the main vampire who seduces a lover who can only really live in youth for a couple of centuries and then they age rapidly and end up in a kind of limbo of no death and no life. In this story her current partner, David Bowie, is starting his aging process and she must find a new partner. She then fixates on a Dr., played by Susan Sarandon, who is doing research on the aging process whom her lover, David Bowie, goes to in desperation to stay young.
I normally don't like vampire films, but I loved the whole ambience of this film. This film is very dreamy, sensual, erotic, ethereal, and a feast for the senses. Catherine Denueve is perfectly cast as Mariam. She radiates a really cool exterior yet there is a warmth that comes out as she does mourn the loss of her current lover. And for sure her French accent only adds to that character's appeal. The seduction scene is one of the most erotic I've seen in any film. David Bowie is perfect too as the aging lover. He gives a truly heartbreaking performance as his desperation to keep living mounts. Susan Sarandon was the only person who I felt was a bit miscast here. What was with the hair?
For those who like the blood thirsty part of vampire films you might be disappointed. There are some really disturbing scenes in the beginning of the film, very dark and gritty, and then again towards the end. But for the most part this is a non graphic film. For those who like the romanticism of a vampire story, this is the film for you.
very interesting take on vampires.......2007-06-28
I liked it.
It definitely was not the best vampire movie out there but it was very unique. It had some new elements of vampire mythology. I wish we had some fang action compared to the necklace weapon.
It was a bit dated...very 1980's like themes and visuals. The acting was good. Catherine Deneuve was perfect for the role. Icy, beautiful, and a tragic character. Bowie was not bad for the role. A young vampire worried about retaining his youth.
Seeing a young, very attractive Susan Sarandon was a kick. Some of the love scenes were nice and appropriate for a vampire movie. Vampires, blood, and sex. What more could you want?
Not five stars due to some slow pacing that just dragged at times throughout the movie. Like a previous critic noted...I was just waiting for Bonnie Tyler to come out singing "A Total Eclipse of the Heart" in the MTV music sets.
A good solid movie for an evening view. Tight 91 minutes run time too.
Hungry for the Hunger.......2007-03-21
The best 80's vampire movie ever! All star cast and excellent cinematography. Musical score is brilliant and takes place in Manhattan. All the fond memories! The opening with Peter Murphy is the climatic point!
A Mystery Solved . . ........2007-03-12
Vampire-enthusiasts who have read Strieber's novel, had a bit of a surprise when they saw Scott's "The Hunger." There were several liberties taken with the film. Still, on many occasions, adaptation for screen often includes sacrifices: especially for time and budget. We accept this. But . . . there was always something a little "off" here . . .
Let's start from the beginning. This film is exquisitely shot. The framing is simple and beautiful. In fact, the composition is almost breath-taking (still frames could appear as individual photographs suitable for display). Likewise, the acting is beyond reproach. Pitch-perfect. The costumes . . . unforgettable (the glasses alone)! The soundtrack is lush . . . in fact, when I first rented the film in middle-school I was inspired to explore classical music. Today, I have an extensive collection . . . and "Bach: Cello Suites 1-6" remains my favorite (thank you, Mr. Scott for such a wonderful gift).
The tale is both sensual and heart-breaking. **SPOILER (STOP READING NOW IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FILM)**: Interestingly, Susan Sarandon describes the film as a metaphor for addiction. In the director's commentary she explains that her character would rather commit suicide than to live with an addiction to blood . . . with an addiction to death . . . to be a conduit of death. Does that comment sound odd considering how the film concludes?? Here is what happened . . .
The film was intended to end with the powerful death of Dr. Sarah Roberts. It was to be a story of sacrifice. BUT, as Scott and Sarandon reveal, "the powers that be" (their words) (meaning, the studio executives) demanded the tag at the end. You see, the studio was hoping for a sequel (and, obviously more money). So, the entire message of the film was destroyed . . . not to mention the attention to continuity was left in ruins. The bitterness in this commentary is justified. By insisting on a nonsensical ending ("So, how did Miriam's lovers decompose if she is still alive?!"), the film did not achieve the box-office success predicted . . . and the sequel was shelved.
So, why grant this film five stars? No matter what . . . this film is nearly as engrossing as the first time I saw it. It is, in my opinion, one of the most inventive, captivating vampire films ever made. And seeing Peter Murphy made me feel thirteen all over again . . . I think I'll break out some Bauhaus . . . right . . . now.
Suggested Reading: Hanson, Ellis. "Vampires Who Bite." Out Takes Essays on Queer Theory and Film. Ed. Ellis Hanson. Durham: Duke UP, 1999. 183-222.
This essay explores lesbian vampirism in film history with particular attention to "Dracula's Daughter," "Vampyres," and "The Hunger."
Deneuve, Bowie, Sarandon, Bauhaus...sigh.......2007-02-28
A product of it's time, this is a super stylish meditation on aging, love, terminal illness and perfect hair. Bowie is gorgeous. Deneuve is ageless, stunning. Sarandon is nubile and sensual. Tony Scott's direction is ham handed at times, heavy on the early MTV style imagery: doves, sheer curtains, levelor blinds, et. al. If you can get past the fear that Bonnie Tyler may emerge from the shadows at any time to belt out 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', this is an effectively scary concoction, drawing parallels between the surprising aging of a vampire's lovers and the (at the time) burgeoning AIDS epidemic. All this and an opening with Bauhaus in a 'batcave' style bar! Look for Ann Magnuson and Willem Defoe in minor roles.

Food products living in New Jersey go out of their minds crazy as hell. This is the story of Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad: creatures who live together, unsupervised, somewhere near the Jersey shore. Carl, their next door neighbor, has an above-ground pool and an attitude.

Quirky, silly, funny and..........2007-03-11
each time you watch an episode you will hear something you missed the first time around. These guys are fun and remind me of those nutty relatives many of us have that argue and don't realize how hilarious they are.
ATHF- volume 2.......2007-02-23
This box set was bought for my husband as a Christmas present, and needless to say- he was extremely happy with it! He said that it rates right up there with all of the rest of ATHF. (He also has volumes 1, bought at the same time as volume 2, and 4). We will be buying the other volumes out there for sale soon- Easter is right around the corner-- any holiday can be an excuse!!
"Make the walls bleed!!!".......2006-12-05
The hilarious insanity gets kicked up a notch in these episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which are better than those found in the first volume. Throughout these episodes, crime solving (occasionally) fast food items Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad get into all sorts of hilarious hijinks, beginning with neighbor Carl getting a foreign mail order bride who is frightened out of her mind. Later on in these episodes, Meatwad gets a pet snake (can't see anything bad coming out of that...), Shake fashions himself a superhero and later becomes the host for a tenticled alien, Frylock attempts to defeat a brainy trivia buff, and MC Pee Pants (voiced by MC Chris, better known as Hesh from Sealab 2021) returns and is now known as "Sir Loin". There's more, but you'll have to see it to believe it, as the series surprisingly gets better, more outlandish, and funnier with each passing episode. One of the biggest highlights of this volume is the appearance by Glenn Danzig in "Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past From the Future", who becomes the Aqua Teen's new neighbor and occupant of the haunted house. It's no wonder that Aqua Teen is the most popular of the Cartoon Network owned Adult Swim's original shows, and if you've never experienced this frequently funny series, you've been missing out.
"Slippery breath inside banjo melted. Runny Smoky.".......2006-07-09
The Aqua Teen Hunger Force is back! Follow the antics of fast food in this hilarious, offbeat, adult cartoon. There's a Shake (Master Shake), French Fries (Frylock), and a wad of hamburger (Meatwad), and they are out to save the world when they aren't floating in their neighbor's aboveground pool. Their neighbor, Carl, is a disgusting, uneducated, sloppy fat, hairy, Jersey-speaking guy who wears a sleeveless tank top, sweats, and flip-flops.
This second season introduces some new monsters while bringing back some old favorites from Season One, like the Mooninites and the Plutonians. Each episode has an introductory scene from Dr. Weird and his assistant Steve, that are hilarious but have nothing to do with the show.
DISC ONE:
1) Mail Order Bride - Carl and Shake order a Chechnyan prostitute to marry, but she locks them out of the house.
2) Super Birthday Snake - Frylock kills Shake, Meatwad, and Carl, and they come back as zombies, but it turns out to be just virtual reality.
3) Universal Remonster - The Plutonians try to steal cable from the ATHF, but instead accidentally send a universal Remonster (a teddy bear made out of TV remotes) through the "Fargate".
4) Super Bowl - Meatwad wins superbowl tickets, and Shake and Carl fight over who is taking with him.
5) Super Hero - Shake steals toxic waste from the storage facility in the river to try and turn himself into Drizzle, a superhero. "$ex with animals? There's no time, man!"
6) Super Squatter - Shake doesn't pay the bills and moves next door with Carl when the utilities are shut off.
7) Super Spore - (My favorite from Season Two!) An alien blob named Travis takes over Shake by punching a tentacle into his brain. He also pees like a sprinkler. He wants a 401K, but doesn't do well in his interview because he's "sprinkling" and talking trash.
8) Super Model - Shake gets plastic surgery in Guatemala, but needs more so he turns to one of Carl's shady friends.
DISC TWO:
1) Super Trivia - Dr. Weird talks into a microphone with his bare hinder. The ATHF plays bar trivia with Wayne The Brain McLaine.
2) Super Sir Loin - Dr. Weird grafts a deer antler to his groin. The diapered spider who appeared in Season One as MC Pee Pants is back as Sir Loin, but now he is a diapered cow with a new scheme.
3) Super Computer - Frylock designs a super computer called the OoGhIJMIQxxXA! (He says it's a Klingon word) But the ball-shaped computer travels to the past and brings back Oog the Caveman.
4) Meat Zone - Meatwad can prophesy by touching people, but its just from eating caulk thinking it was cheese.
5) Cybernetic Ghost Of Christmas Past From The Future - The ghost of Christmas past, a bird-like robot, shows up at Carl's house. Carl's pool becomes filled with elfin blood, so he sells to Danzig the devil worshiper.
-- Extras include deleted scenes, commentaries, and a music video.
Though I think I liked Season One better, Season Two has one of my all-time favorite episodes, Super Spore. Perhaps not quite as inventive as the first season, the humor is still sharp and the fast food is still crazy. If you like Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, or Invader Zim, them you should get a big kick out of ATHF (though they still should lose the annoying theme music). Enjoy!

Those ferocious fast-food freedom fighters Meatwad, Frylock, and Master Shake return for more outrageous adventures in this double-disc set culled from their third season. Longtime fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force know that the Teens rarely battle any actual evildoers--their chief nemesis, Dr. Weird, blows himself up before he can hatch any of his schemes--but the fellas still have plenty of trouble to deal with in these episodes, whether it's from an Atari 2600 that can contact the deceased ("Video Ouija"), the hellish creature known as MC Pee Pants, who returns here as an elderly gent in a retirement home ("Little Brittle"), a robot babysitter for Meatwad (voiced by Sarah Silverman in "Robositter"), or the perennially pesky Mooninites, who make two appearances here (in "Remooned" and "The Final Mooning"). But of course, the Teens' worst enemies are themselves, and in the 13 episodes featured on this set, the boys manage to take on crash diets ("Diet"), destroy New Jersey's gas line ("Dusty Gozongas"), summon a monstrous Santa Claus with a magical T-shirt ("T-shirt of the Dead), shrink themselves ("Unremarkable Voyage"), and well, expire ("Video Ouija"). In short, it's typical Aqua Teen Hunger Force lunacy, abetted by several fun celebrity guest voices (Bob Odenkirk and Fred Armisen in "Hypno-Germ," Scott Thompson in "Dusty Gozongas," and Ted Nugent as himself in "Gee Whiz").
As with previous ATHF DVDs, Volume Four comes with a wealth of supplemental features for the series' fans: nine of the 13 episodes feature commentary from the show's creators, which are unfortunately plagued by sound-quality problems. But there's also the complete "Spacecataz," which compiles the brief clips of the Mooninites and Plutonians' ceaseless and ridiculous battles which open each episode into one short feature; a short film titled "Raydon" from the show's producers; "San Diego Must Be Destroyed," an amusing clip featuring the Mooninites which screened at a comic convention; and a featurette on the vocal talent as they record the dialogue for "Spacegate World." A montage of fan art set to the show's music and an intriguing clip for what appears to be the Aqua Teen Hunger Force theatrical feature (titled "Send Us Money for This") round out the offbeat extras. -- Paul Gaita

ATHF V-4 Best yet despite "Play All" Gag.......2007-05-30
This season was obviously more silly, stupid, senseless and violent in prep. for the movie. Isnt that what the whole series is about though?
Raydon is a fantastic extra, for that matter V-4 has the best extras of ALL. It also contains the best extras of any ATHF. The Eggs are a bit more difficult to find but well worth the effort. The "Play All & None" options are annoying, but I have to believe there is a reason for them. If it is only to be more annoying then more power to you guys, remember thats what its all about isnt it. ATHF is the most intelligent stupid show in the world and I love it. V-4 is the best yet.
I cant wait to see what kinda insane stuff they put in the extras for the Movie DVD.
The movie was the best 90 min. I ever spent in my life. ATHF V 1-4, Best TV on DVD EVER!!!

No play all is ridiculous..........2007-05-23
I recently picked up the fourth volume of Aqua Teen to complete my collection. I click play all see the wonderful joke they put in smirk and say to myself, "cute." I then go about searching for a way to actually play all the episodes back to back. When I realize that there is none I go online to see surely that I am wrong. Lo and behold I am met with dissapointment but also rage at having purchased an inferior product that constantly will remind me of its mediocrity everytime I pop it in the dvd player.
I would like to congratulate you on not only failing to put in the most basic and essential feature of a TV show dvd, but also inserting a stupid joke that draws attention to your failure to do so. I am glad you feel the need to essentially spit in my face as a paying customer.
Thank you Adult Swim for ensuring that I will never purchase one of your DVD products again.
A whole lot of extras.......2007-05-23
This is pretty cool. Just so you know, the Boost Mobile episode is not included in this.
There are some really great extras in this set including a studio session showing the people who do the voices.
Very funny adult swim cartoon. Start with volume one if you're new to it.
Major drawback is the Play All feature plays ten or so small versions of every episode. It won't play continuously like a movie.
youll be fooled..........2007-05-11
i gave this dvd 5 stars because i love all the episodes on it. there is, however, 1 problem (more of a purposeful annoyance); theres no way to play the episodes consecutively. if you select 'play all' it actually plays all the episodes (with the soundtrack to every episode) all the screen at once. you have to go to the episode guide and play each one, and as an extremely lazy person that angers me.

Another cracked animated series from the Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" programming block, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Volume One's blend of superhero action and skewed humor should provide plenty of nourishment to fans of offbeat animation. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force are a squabbling trio of fast-food items (milkshake, fries, and a ball of hamburger meat) that have joined together to fight a host of monsters, aliens, and mad scientists in their native New Jersey. Fans of traditional cartoons may find the surreal plotlines and low-fi animation unmanageable, but viewers who enjoy other Adult Swim programming like Space Ghost Coast to Coast (series creators Chris Willis and Matt Maiellaro are veterans from that show) will find the Force's adventures side-splitting. The two-disc set, which features 16 episodes from the series' first two seasons, is supplemented by commentary by Willis and Maiellaro on three episodes, including an early version of "Rabbot." Disc 2 has a pair of Easter eggs that feature deleted scenes. --Paul Gaita

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is funny, BUT.......2007-07-06
All of these episodes are on youtube for free. The only reason I paid money for this set was that I thought maybe some of the extras would be worth listening to, like the commentary from the creators or whatever
But I guess the joke was on me, because I turn on the first commentary track, the one for the Mooninites episode, and all you get is one of the creators playing a guitar and letting the feedback wash over the whole audio track. No kidding, in a 12 minute episode, over 5 minutes is just guitar feedback, and another minute or two is the guy singing some dumb song he just made up. That might sound funny, but believe me it wasn't. The song isn't amusing at all; its just an easy way for him to get out of telling you anything worth hearing or actually putting any effort into it. There's not even a commentary track for every episode, its not like they were swamped with all the commentary they had to do
From now on I guess I'll just watch the ATHF episodes on the net. There's no reason to buy the dvds if there are no extras
Anyway, I'm sure not everyone will feel like I did about it, but since I bought the dvds specifically for the commentary I felt like I got screwed. If you're buying them as a gift or for someone who's never seen them, by all means pick this set up, but if you're already a fan and just looking for a little more, you might want to think twice before you spend any money on this. At least get them used or something. I mean buying them new you're paying around $30 for 13 12 min episodes, which is like paying $30 for a full length movie. Kind of steep when you think about it
So, to sum up, I'm not trying to talk anyone out of liking Aqua Teen, but I just wanted to warn everyone that you're not going to get much in the way of extras if you pick up this set
Nuts.......2007-05-13
Makes absolutely no sense. I love it. Also, nice to see how they actually started out, things were a little different.
What isn't to love?!?.......2007-03-09
What isn't to love about ATHF?!? Awesome DVD set, Awesome show!!!
ATHF- volume 1.......2007-02-23
The second ATHF volume I have bought for my husband (the first was volume 4)- definitely not to be the last! I thought that talking animated food items that are said to fight crime (but actually do not) would be insanely stupid- I was wrong! I bought it to make my husband happy and now, I watch them just as much. This is one of the funniest 'adult' cartoons ever made- albeit sometimes disturbing. Anyone who has an open mind, a sense of humor and a love of cartoons that are crass- to say the least- will love ATHF.
Description
First of all, they're not teens. Secondly, there's not water involved. The whole Hunger Force thing? That's probably misleading, too. In short, if you have to ask what "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is about, it is probably not a show for you. The rest of us will go on thrilling to the adventures of Frylock, Meatwad and Master Shake as they, you know... hang out.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Volume Three.......2007-05-08
Another fine addition to any collection. I recommend getting all volumes.
Life can sometimes be hard.......2007-03-15
So pop this into your DVD player and forget about it for awhile. You will laugh. You hear? You WILL laugh. There are some one-liners in here that will dazzle you. Mostly said by Master Shake.
Stop frowning and start howling.
Fantastic.......2007-03-09
The episodes collected in the third volume of Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force on DVD only solidify the fact that this show gets better and better. Containing some of the absolute best episodes of the series, it's easy to see why Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the most popular original series on Cartoon Network's latenight Adult Swim lineup. Master Shake, Frylock, Meatwad, and their neighbor Carl get into so much otherworldly hijinks that may seem just stupid when you first hear them, but the jokes and jabs are delivered at a dead-pan, break neck speed that always made the show work as well as it does. The Aqua Teens meet a couple of prank pulling, jock aliens ("Frat Aliens"), Carl's body gets destroyed, and rebuilt ("Total Recarl"), Shake eats a haunted sandwich (the hilarious "Broodwich"), and the Teens get in over their heads with guitar god Zakk Wylde (who voices himself in "Spirit Journey Formation Anniversary"). The ebst episodes to come from the series so far are on this set's second disc, including "The Last One" as the Mooninites gather all the old Aqua Teen rogue gallery members to destroy their adversaries. In "The Clowning", Carl gets a new wig with demonic properties (the ending of which is so absurd you'll have a heart attack laughing), and the classic "The Shaving", in which the guys learn of a monster named Willie Nelson living in their attic. And boy does he love "juice". All in all, the third volume of Aqua Teen Hunger Force is undoubtadly the best of the series, and even if you're not a hardcore fan of the series, you should consider picking this up regardless.
Simply the BEST.......2007-02-09
If you aren't down with ATHF then back the F off!!!!!!!!

Aqua Teen Hunger Force F-YEAH!.......2007-09-10
This package deal was a steal! I got all 4 seasons in perfect condition and in a timely manner. For those who are great fans, or just thought it was hilarious when you saw it a few times on tv; all 4 seasons is a must!
Great Value!!.......2007-08-23
I love Aqua Teen. This is a fun product that came at a great value
Great Entertainment!.......2007-06-19
You got to like this series, but if you do this set hasn't failed us yet. We were worried about the quality being poor, but so far no problems. If you haven't seen this series first, find a way to watch an episode first as it can be an either like or hate show. Good for a nice night of entertainment.
Awsome.......2007-06-13
This is an awsome and completley random show. Every episode is hilarious and it is a good price.
Great for a marathon with the guys.......2007-05-26
If you're bored one day pop these dvds in and watch all the episodes. They don't make sense at first but who cares they're funny and great if you like random things. Also better to buy in bulk than one by one.

Another Classic 80's Horror Flick!.......2007-07-22
Critters is a must own for anybody who loves 80's horror movies. It's just a great movie and brings back memories from my childhood of fun filled nights with scary movies and not a worry in the world!
Primitive special effects + Bad acting = Worthless movie.......2007-05-24
The special effects in this movie are jokes. The creatures look exactly like furry puppets. The video quality is a shame. It's faded and grainy. The acting is like that of a bad movie show. The Gremlins is more exciting, interesting and entertaining. I regret I bought it even though it cost me only $10.
Just good fun..........2007-05-21
This movie was just as much fun as the first time I saw it! What's not to love? Alien's that eat everything in sight and cause trouble across the universe. Shape shifting alien bounty hunters. And a small town invaded by Critters. Nice.
Move over Bobba Feet.......2007-01-25
This movie when it came out in the mid eighties was a huge hit. A word of warming this movie has heavy language in it, heavy gore heavy scince fiction action sequences in it. As a result I do not recommend this movie to any one under the age of thirteen unless suprevised by at leasst two parents or guardians. There also three parts in this movie with vandalism once in a church, one in a bowling ale and one on a farm with Piano's and other protery being blown to bits by the two bounty hunters because they are trigger happy and get startled and aroused easily. Critters is the ultimate storey of good versus evil. As the stroey begins a space ship is arriving carring 8 prisoners to a high security space prison on an ansteriod. The prisoner are 8 super agressive crinmals of a species of meat eatting toxic aliens known as the Krites. There are eight remaining Krites you see when the krites were orrignally arrested there were ten of them aboard the ship but because of the krites super vorcaious appetite to eat everything insite they aliens that arrested them were forced two kill to of the krites in order to make there food supply last until they reached the prison. The krites have just arrived the prison. The warden sensing something is wrong sends some of the prison guards to the termination cell to check on krite. Shortly after the guards arrive at the cell some how through ways never explained the krites set of and explosion blowing a whole in the cell. The explosion kills to of the guards and the krites escape in a space ship to earth. They are persued there by two faceless shapesifting bounty hunter Ug and Lee. Once on earth the krites begin there rain of destruction. First a police cop is attacked by a single krite and after being stunned by a poison quill is dragged under his police car and is killed. The krites adventually end up at a farm in Kansas belonging to the Brown Family after killing a cow and the boy friend of Bradly brown's sister the Brown family alone must face off against these eight terrors from space. Will they Browns stop the krites and will the Bounty hunters get there in time or will the town of Grovers bend fall to ruin. Find out in the action packed conclusion
Fun and entertaining.......2006-04-10
I cannot help but laugh every time I see people bashing each other over a movie. Disliking a certain film is one thing. But for somebody to go out of their way and flagrantly insult a total stranger over their enjoyment of a particular film they happened to hate is unnecessary and immature. Amazon should police these reviews a bit more seriously.
"Critters" is a fond and harmless throwback to the sort of monster movie so prevalent in the mid-1950s sci-fi boom. I cannot so easily classify the plot as straight-up horror, because it really isn't. This is more of a hodgepodge. You get a smattering of horror, comedy, and science fiction all rolled up within a singular and satisfying package. I caught this in a theater with my father twenty years ago, and it has always remained a guilty pleasure of mine. None of the special effects are overdone, the writing is suitable, and I found most of the cast agreeable and entertaining.
I have found over the years that many of us tend to take our movies way too seriously. In the end, I could really care less that "Critters" doesn't follow the rules of reality. Because, when I pay to see movies like this, reality is something I want to escape from.
