couldn't live without it.......2007-07-11
My child has loved this video from 3 months old. I am a work at home mom and this video is a life saver. He loves all the songs and his face just beams when little Jay the Kangaroo comes on. It really makes him happy so I don't feel guilty about leaving him in front of the television.
Mommy & Me.......2007-03-14
This DVD is almost the same thing as the other mommy and me.
Same songs and some actors with few changes...But it is good as
It was the other one.
#1 movie for my son!.......2006-03-15
My 18mo old absolutely loves the mommy and me dvd's that are out. Besides the wiggles, this is the only thing he will watch. Just from watching this dvd he learns how to do certain things such as jumping, shaking hands, and playing peekaboo! More videos like this should be out on the market.
Otra vez estaba muy triste con el parte en español. English review below on mainly the Spanish part from someone bilingual........2006-02-03
For people who think that those who speak Spanish can sing along with the words they are wrong. The Spanish words are all in a different form of future etc. in the subtitles verses the verbal form whether in songs or spoken. It is like they paid two different people to translate the same video. One for the verbal and the other for the lyrics, and then stuck them together without checking that they are the same. Same meaning is different than same words especially if you are trying to sing along. I don't understand why anyone would allow their product to be marketed in this way. In English the words come across in karaoke style with the word they are on highlighted. I assumed that the subtitles would be the same with maybe the option of the highlighted word taken away, which is NOT the case.
My daughter loves these CD's!.......2005-11-23
My daughter loves both the first Mommy & Me and Mommy & Me More. We can't go through a day without watching one of them. The segments in between are a bit goofy, but the songs are fun and it gets my girl up and moving. When I first tried these on her around 14 months, she could care less, but now at 2 years, she loves them!

This is the near-legendary video that started the trend of songs for kids on video in 1986. The footage of kids playing in houses and backyards has a delightful homemade quality and is anchored by the songs of Hap Palmer, once dubbed the "Bob Dylan of the diaper set." His songs do have a nice folksiness that is just right. From the very first song, "Piggy Toes," you can see where the video is aimed: the Sesame Street group of infants to 6-year-olds. Palmer has a gift for writing bouncy numbers that go beyond the normal subject matter. "My Mommy Comes Back" speaks to kids who are left at Grandma's or a day care center ("my mommy comes back, she always comes back..."). Other songs on the 30-minute tape include "Shout & Whisper," "Rolling," and the self-explanatory "Today I Took My Diapers Off." --Doug Thomas
Description
Hap Palmer's sing-a-long tune invite childern to clap their hands, stomp their feet, dance and act out the lyrics. Songs include, "Piggy Toes", "Security", and "Today I Took My Diapers Off" among others.

Baby Songs: Original.......2007-07-31
I had this on Video for my daughter who is now 13 and was thrilled to see it available on DVD so my 1 year old son can enjoy it. No matter what the times, babies & kids just love to watch this, the music is cute and they use REAL kids which is nice instead of characters or cartoons. Thumbs up in my book.
Triplet Mom's LIFESAVER.......2007-06-03
Ok, to begin with I had no idea who Hap was. I just knew that I didn't want my triplets hooked on broadcast TV stuff that was full of marketing, commercials, etc. So we ordered BabyFirstTV (kinda like HBO for babies) and during the programming they would show these videos. It didn't take long for me to notice that my kids were MESMERIZED by Palmer's music videos. I quickly recognized the prints and hairstyles from my own childhood (80's kid) and went on a search until I found the DVD's here. The kids LOVED them and now that they are almost two they actually ask for them by name. I would HIGHLY recommend these DVD's to anyone who is interested in exposing their children to music, rhyming, social skills, development skills, sillyness and laughter via your DVD player. I am not saying they take the place of actual experiences but they sure do enhance them. You don't know how handy it is to get your triplet toddlers to quickly cooperate and follow instructions by just singing a simple song to them. Anyway, long story short.... WE LOVE HAP PALMER AND THESE DVDs!
So glad I found it!.......2007-05-21
I can't believe they still make this on DVD! I bought this on VHS back in 1990 for my son and then my daughter. He is now 17 and she is 13 and I just had another baby. I thought about how much they used to love this video. I figured I would give it a shot and try to find it and here it is. My kids used to watch it non-stop when they were little. I ordered it and can't wait to get it for my new baby.
weird but true.......2007-05-15
This video is so cheesy and silly and seemingly low budget but for some reason, I haven't met a baby who isn't mesmerized by it. I had it for my kids and I just bought it for my new neice. Works every time.
Great!.......2007-04-18
This was a great movie in our house. It taught the kids how to get dressed and use the potty. It is now gone since we sold it at a yard sale.

This was given to us as a gift and my kids love it! I would definitely recommend this (18 mo+).
Great DVD for Babies.......2007-06-14
I love this DVD for one thing more than anything else...it got my son to saying "mommy":)) He was saying "mama" but after watching this DVD a couple times he started calling me mommy and never stopped. He's almost three now and he still watches this DVD from time to time. He knows all the songs and all the actions and in the car we're able to sing the songs because he has memorized them. It's a break from all the "character" shows out there for kids. This is a Classic!
Great video for interacting with your child.......2007-04-06
I am a working parent of a 2 year old toddler. Unfortunately, many times when I get home I really just want to relax and put my feet up - and not interact with my daughter. This video is fantastic for getting us both in the mood to enjoy each other and have a good time. Most videos for kids are not very interactive and fortunately this one is based on being involved in the activities. The songs are great and well known. My daughter LOVES this video and asks me almost every day to play it in the DVD player. I highly recommend this video for everyone, especially working parents trying to find new ways to have fun with their little ones.
Suggest you try Bright Bubs for your baby instead.......2007-03-12
i just watched mommy & me and if you have a baby i strongly recommend you try bright bubs DVDs instead. the bright bubs dvds are made for babies first year. it is a fun lively sessions of singing finger play massaging with mummies and babies . the babies in the dvds are all under one year , and the music is carefully selected and played for this age group. mommy and me songs are a bit noisy for my baby's fine and sensitive hearing
please go to the webiste [...] and read about their approach how to incorporate music in baby's development . most of the songs in the session are really short ( we all know our babies attention span ) , incorporating exercises , vestibular movements , tactile and auditory stimulation while siniging , explaining to you why and how every song can help baby's development.
i just cannot recommend them enough for very young babies . and no they are not similar to the mummy and me dvds
also the bright bubs sessions are done in a house in the living room or in a backyard in a very natural environment , so baby is not too distracted and overstimulated by the too many artificial decoration and drawings like in mommy and me sessions , all baby will see is other babies with their mummies in their house like him singing and dancing , music is soft respectful to baby's refined senses .
i don't mean to say this dvd is not good , but i feel it is too loud and too crowded for babies , maybe it is more suitable for preschoolers .
i just felt sorry for that baby among the group trying to follow up on the wheel on the bus song .the same song could be sang in a more apropriate and respectful way for younger babies senses.

Customer Reviews:
mommy baby body builders is fun.......2007-08-23
I like this video and so does my baby. It is fun to watch him smile and laugh while I work out. Working out is not chore time it is play time!
Waste of time & money.......2007-07-16
Bought this DVD however I never use it. Personally I feel: The instructors are annoying. The exercises are...odd. They do exercises with their babies that I would not be comfortable doing with mine for the too-high risk of injury. These are the reasons why I feel this DVD is a waste of time and money.
Good excercises, bad production quality.......2006-04-01
The exercises in this video are good, and the instructors clearly enjoy working out with their babies. However, the production quality is very low (like it was filmed using a low quality VHS video camera), and worst of all I can't play this DVD on my computer (unlike every other DVD I own). Since my computer is in the room where I work out and I don't have a TV/DVD player in that room, and there isn't room to work out in the living room where we have our DVD player, this is a big disappointment for me. Don't buy this DVD if you plan to watch it on your computer.
just what I wanted and needed.......2006-03-14
I needed a workout that wouldn't take a lot of motivation to do. I have found that, post baby, if I have to psych myself up to do a workout (even a treadmill), I don't do it. This DVD starts out with on the floor stretches that let you mentally warm up. The workout covers all of the major muscle groups, and when you are done you feel good. There's nothing fancy, just the basic moves that we all know and love. My 25 pound 14 month old makes the lifting exercises quite challenging, I am happy to do 5 or 10 reps right now and I will move up from there. I like that they devote a few minutes to kegels since we all just love those. I never did them before, but since they stuck them in the middle of the workout, it is a good time to sit and play with my little one. I like that the music is just background type so that you choose the pace and number of reps you want to do. You don't have to follow the instructors exactly. I like that one of the ladies talks some during the workout, because sometimes I get caught up in doing a move and forget to play with my baby. They do use a stepper at one point, but I just walk around the room looking at pictures with my daughter during that. The bonus at the end is the Hawaiian song they sing while showing babies playing. Even if my daughter skips out on the workout portion, she always comes around to watch this part in my lap. I got this DVD about 2 weeks ago, and I do it 3 times a week right now, and that is plenty. I will work up my reps and hope to do it everyday at some point.
Cheesy but a lot of fun!.......2006-02-11
After reading the reviews, I decided to order it. I wasnt looking for something vigorous, just something to involve my 2 year old toddler while getting a decent workout.
It was really fun, my son had a blast. Of course, it took him a few minutes "get" it but eventually he started playing along. The workout itself is fairly easy if you do it without the baby, but if you do it WITH.. its a pretty good session. I used my 2 year old (33lbs) on as many as I could and I worked up a damn good sweat. The only thing that is annoying is that one of the girls talks over the whole time about this and that... but I just tuned her out.
If you can get over the cheesy quality of the video and dont take this as a real serious, get down and dirty workout, then I think you'll be really pleased with this.

Customer Reviews:
Meh........2007-08-27
I practice yoga regularly and did so throughout my pregnancy. This DVD is fun and good for a short home workout but really not good for the intermediate or more experienced yoga practitioner. The instructor does not pay much attention to correct form or even explain the poses very well so it would be hard for a beginner to do well. Some activities (such as lifting the baby up, straight out, and then squatting with the baby) can be very hard on new mommies with compromised lower backs and/or abdominals from cesarean. As with any home exercise program, you should listen to your body and follow its advice, but I am sure a lot of people feel like they should be able to do everything the way she does--there are no other mommies in the video showing more advanced or more basic modifications to give options. . .I wouldn't buy it again.
Great DVD, fun for baby and Mommy, too!!!.......2007-03-19
My 5 month old daughter and I are enjoying this DVD, there is just the right amount of interaction. There is also time for her to hang out and play with some toys while I do some of it on my own. We both appreciate that as she is a very active baby and likes to play.. :) The location is great to look at for my little girl.. And the music keeps her attention for times as well. Overall, we are very pleased with this DVD. :)
Prenatal Yoga with just enough Infant activity.......2007-03-14
This DVD has a section near the beginning that is solely for the infant and the rest is mostly for the mom while keeping the baby entertained. The workout is only about 30 minutes, but that is just the right amount of time before my three month old gets tired of being on the floor even if I wish it was a little longer. My four year old also has fun participating. The focus in this DVD is on all the right places. There are lots of ab exercises and back stretches along with a good number of arm strengthening poses. I could do without the positive attitude, you are going to be a good mother speech in the opening meditation. This is a good DVD to get you back into your practice while incorporating your little one.
A great way to connect with your little one!.......2006-09-02
This DVD was not centered around the presenter and was more instructional with lots of amazing scenery. The instructor's voice is very soothing and allowed for a relaxed atmosphere for both baby and mommy. My son's demeanor was a lot more relaxed after following the DVD. I found it a great way to start my day ; by connecting with my little one and centering myself for what obstacles I would face that day.
Very basic,adequate, but not extraordinary.......2006-08-18
This DVD is a good basic guide to Yoga with your baby, but it stops there. The baby in this video was a 5 month old, probably the ideal age for performing the few poses in this work out. I was looking for something a little more extensive and with more direction than what this offered.
The background and music is lovely, and very relaxing. The few things that I would have liked to see are as follows:
1. I too, like another reviewer, would have liked to see more integrated activites with the baby. There are only a couple exercises that the instructor shows with the baby not on the mat or sitting in the lap. I was hoping for something a little more co-active.
2. While the instructors voice and words are quite lovely, there are many many still shots in the DVD instead of an all over start to finish dynamic work out. I think that the beginning meditation is an unrealistic amount of time to spend with your baby just sitting and relaxing unless your child is 6 months or younger.
3. The translation to an older baby is not really present, as I stated previously, it doesn't seem like you can use some of the poses and instruction she offers with a crawling or mobile baby.
All the while, this is a lovely display of editing, music, and visual imagery, it is just lacking a little more depth. I think that you could find in a book the same kind of instruction, with more extensive poses, such as Baby Om.
Good DVD, solid, lovely, but not quite exceptional.

Another Gay Movie

"You slipped into my life as easily as vermouth into a glass of gin," purrs reclusive singing star Angela Arden, as played by camp icon Charles Busch (Psycho Beach Party). Arden is not only haunted by a secret, she's treated like dirt by her louse of a husband (Phillip Baker Hall, Boogie Nights), her snoopy maid (Frances Conroy, Six Feet Under), and her petulant daughter (Natasha Lyonne, Slums of Beverly Hills). Only her mentally defective son (Stark Sands) and a well-endowed gigolo (Jason Priestley, Beverly Hills 90210) treat her with love and affection. Is it any wonder she takes drastic action to improve her life? Replete with lurid sex, incestuous overtones, a poisoned suppository, musical numbers, an acid freakout, and black-and-white flashbacks, Die Mommie Die! lovingly sends up movie soap operas. The tone is uneven, but Busch skillfully walks a razor-sharp line throughout. --Bret Fetzer
Customer Reviews:
Mega Camp a la Almodovar!.......2007-02-10
Charles Busch is FANTASTIC! Lana turner , move over. I believe there is not one female actress in Holywood today thant can ACT! Charles can act at being all these awesome women in a drop of a pin. The movie has some flaws but they makeup with all the great talent and the FUN. This movie is Fun and if your in for laughs and DRAMA check it out. Great to see at a dinner party.
A Drag Queen Extravaganza!.......2006-11-14
Charles Busch, who wrote the script for this film as well as plays the lead, has produced an odd soap opera with appeal to gay audiences. I had never heard of Charles Busch but he obviously is the penultimate drag queen in his outlandish flowing gowns, wigs, and dalmation pantsuits.
The story is actually based on Greek tragedy but in the hands of Charles Busch, it becomes a camp classic. The story is based on the Greek myth of the twin sisters, Helen of Troy and Clytaemnestra. Clyteamenestra is married to Agamemnon. Agamemnon has sacrificed his oldest daughter in an effort to change the course of the Trojan War, which he wins. However his wife Clyteamenestra has taken a lover, Aegisthus. He has another daughter, Electra, and a son, Orestes. In the hands of Charles Busch, these Greek mythology characters come to life in a sordid tale of Hollywood murder, incest, and all kinds of other sexual oddities.
Jason Priestly plays the bisexual gigolo lover who seduces both the son and the daughter in the story. One well acted character is the maid, played by Francis Conroy, the mother from "Six Feet Under". Natasha Lyonne plays the role of Electra seeking revenge on her mother. Phillip Baker Hall plays the role of Agamemnon, the Hollywood producer.
Charles Busch, playing actress/singer/dancer Angela Arden, is on camera about 90% of the time and carries the film with his costumes and hairstyles. The clothes he wears are outlandish but entertaining. After I saw the DVD with a group of guys, it was interesting how they described all the outfits you will see in this film.
Some parts of the film move more smoothly than others but overall it is entertaining and a bit over the top.
Wow This was Lots of Fun!!!!.......2006-10-18
I loved this clever and very campy film. I have always been a fan of female impersonators. I was very impressed and saw in NYC during the 70s the late Charles Pierce, and was equally impressed with the late Craig Russell, the star of the 70s movie "Outrageous" which I highly recommend. I am surprised that I had never seen the work of Charles Busch until I bought this DVD. He is truly a gifted performer. One forgets a bit that he is a man in a dress and you get into his very good acting and comedy effort. I felt that the scenes in black and white seemed to show him as being more male. The movie is one that is played for camp to the hilt and they used a Beverly Hills mansion to film lots of scenes in, and that worked very well. I sort of felt that the film resembled the movie from the 70s "Something for Everyone" in that a young man, basically a gigilo in both films, gets involved with the families, and then proceeds to seduce everyone. This film also makes the viewer work very hard to figure out what is going on, and they basically pull the wool over your eyes as to the true identity of the main character until close to the end. The murders are handled cleverly as well, not being at all what they appear. I thought Jason Priestly and Natasha Lyonne played very well against the work by Mr Busch. In the interview section Busch, who really looks so dramatically different out of drag describes how he was trying to send up different bits from old movies and great film stars of the past like Bette Davis. I think at one point he recreated the scene to some degree in "Sunset Boulevard" where Gloria Swanson is lead away by the cops. Obviously Mr Busch really had so much fun doing this film. I was not aware this had been a stage play. I do think it worked better as a movie as they were a bit restriced with the stage set which I saw on the special features. Oh and I must not forget to pay homage to the incredible costumes for Mr Busch which really were so dramatic. The two designers came forth with some great ones. I needed a laugh, and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to laugh like crazy and is not put off by camp or parody. It also made me realize I need to watch again the fun and delightful "Wigstock". I find if I am down and depressed putting that movie on really lifts my spirits, so now if I need help elevating my mood in the future I will call on the zany and extremely talented Charles Busch. Finally in a small part Frances Conroy, who of course played the Mom in the brilliant HBO series "Six Feet Under" shows her talents for camp and comedy quite effectively as a somewhat mousy house maid, who has a bit of an evangelic Christian aspect to her character. This certainly is not for all tastes, I would not share this with my elderly parents as they might find it a bit offensive, and wouldn't get into the campiness of it. Everyone in this movie gave their best and I will certainly think of buying other DVDS that Charles Busch is a part of!!! This is one I was so delighted with I intend to watch it again very soon. Also I loved the way they intentionally made the lip synching look so off. A Campy Treat, This movie either works for you, or its doesn't!!
If you are a free spirit, go for it, if you are conservative, and uptight do not even think about it!!!
Fun and well made........2006-09-05
"Die Mommie Die" is defintely a "gay interest" movie, but it is so well produced that it stands head and shoulders above most films of it's type whose audiences are usually limited to film festivals and fringe interest cinemas. Charles Busch is the talent responsible for writing and creating the project, and it's safe to say that his portrayal of the central characte of Angela Arden is what brings the film alive.
As Angela Arden (in drag but played straight), Busch gives us a glamorous former cabaret star, now living in the shadow of her past success, and surrounded by a wealth, but also a family full of deceit, hate and trouble. Angela is herself haunted by her own past, and the entry into her life of a young male lover who also seduces both her son and daughter seems to provoke a chain of events with very melodramatic and tragic consequences. All par for the course really as the film is intended to evoke the golden age of Hollywood melodrama as made famous by Bette Davis, Joan Crawford et al, and it does this pretty well, with it's own modern agenda creeping in, of course.
This is undoubtedly a vehicle for Charles Busch, and he makes a stunning job of it in my book. The photography, lighting, costumes and hairdos are all spot on, creating the perfect vision of a star every time he/she appears on screen. He even manages to deliver a great script, with plenty of brand new quotable lines for any aspiring screen goddesses out there, such as: "The only part of this house that I don't hate is that door, because that's how I'm getting out of this dump!" (ok that's not verbatim, but you get the idea!).
The fact that Busch keeps the camp element quite low key means that the film is capable of acheiving the valuable trick of pulling you into the plot, which, although based quite blatantly on certain star vehicles (if I say which films, I risk revealing the films twist ending!), still manages to hold your attention all the way through. Actually if there are any histrionics in the film, they come from the other cast members (especially the younger ones) rather than Busch, although Frances Conroy (from Six Feet Under) does a great job as the loyal maid, Bootsie, and so does Philip Baker Hall as Angela's tyrannical husband.
Above all, everyone involved in the film seems to be having a great time, and it's clear from the luxurious photography and design that a considerable amount of talent was working behind the camera as well. There are many stunning shots and some quite fun and novel compositions (one shot of Jason Priestly unzipping his fly fades perfectly into a shot of a cocktail glass on a tray - well, you probably have to see that to understand what I mean there!). I enjoyed watching this film immensely, and the twist ending surprised me (even though as soon as it happened, I remembered immediately which famous star movie I had seen it in before)
Put aside any preconceptions and you might just find that you have a lot of fun watching this. That said, if your preconception is of seeing an unashamed parody/homage to the great Hollywood women's pictures - with a modern slant - then keep it and you should be rewarded!
Funny in parts.......2006-05-05
There are certainly some humorous moments in this odd little picture, but overall I'd say it's just a film made to showcase the talent of a drag queen to command attention. It was like watching a really bad soap opera.

A GOOD START! .......2007-02-27
We have 5 children of varying ages - all have learned from this DVD. It's just playful and fun - not the best production ever - but I and our children have picked up words and phrases we use at dinnertime.
The Worst - save your money.......2007-01-11
This is aweful! Horrible Spanish, "spoken" by non Spanish speakers with a bad gringo accent. It is truly one of the worst things I have seen ever. And also horrible typos in the written sections. This is the most pathetic thing I have seen.
Avoid this like the plague.
Send me my money back (and something more for having to have suffered through this!)
WE LOVED IT! .......2006-11-15
WE PLAY THIS BEFORE SUPPER WHILE I AM COOKING. THE KIDS LOVE IT AS DO I. IT IS A FIRST INTRO TO SPANISH AND IS HELPFUL AND FUNNY.
MY KIDS LOVE THE DOG. WE ALSO HAVE VOL. 2 - WHICH IS A MUCH BETTER PRODUCTION.
DO NOT PURCHASE.......2006-11-10
I agree entirely with Maria Maria's review. It is a great concept and a TERRIBLE production. Poor pronunciation and grammar mistakes throughout. I highly recommend NOT purchasing this DVD. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
4 year old loves CD.......2006-06-01
My 4 year old started taking Spanish in Pre-K. I asked another
parent if she knew of any Spanish tapes or CD's that my child might enjoy and learn with. She told me of a Children's
Store selling CD's called Mommy Teach Me Spanish. She said her
two children loved it. After purchasing the CD my daughter fell
in love with it. She loves the animation and above all the
other children that speak Spanish. This CD has added lots of
fun and learning to our family. I watch in with my child and
we both learn and play. I have recommended it to my friends that
have children. We just purchased the new CD about "Sweet Dreams"
and love it even more. I found this review site searching to
see if anything new had been released. Thank You allowing reviews

Do Not Waste your money on this.......2007-05-02
The video is visually poor but the worst are the mistakes in Spanish and the horrible pronunciation. You don' t want your kid to learn this. Buy Plaza Sesamo in Spanish. That is great.
I don't like it, but . . . ........2007-01-10
I'll be honest, I'm not crazy about this DVD. First of all, no one in it has an actual Spanish accent. Second of all, it has a very "home-made" look to it, with cheap puppets, cheap graphics, etc. The puppet segments make no sense and don't add anything to the learning experience, in my opinion. But all that aside, my 3 year old son loves it and the first time he watched it, he wanted to see it over and over and over again. He even repeated many of the words. So even though I do not like it much, I have to admit that somehow it appeals to my child and so grudgingly, I recommend it.
G-R-E-A-T CD.......2006-05-31
I purchased the first CD and my child loved it from the start.
She is 4 years old and knows most of the phrases and words from
the "I AM HUNGRY" CD. Now we have purchased and watched the new
CD "SWEET DREAMS". She loves it and now recognizes some
of the kids that speak on both CD's. She loves showing out by
saying the words and acting out the phrases. Her teacher for
Pre-K Spanish thinks the CD's are enhancing her eagerness to learn Spanish faster. We love both CD's but "Sweet Dreams" is
our favorite. As the mother of a gifted child it has been
recommended that she learn a second language. My child once said to me "mommy if I clean up my toys in your room, can I watch my "Sweet Dreams" CD"? That tells me something! In my opinion, children learning from other children tops all learning tools. Like me, I know their are other parents looking for something to start off or help their kids with Spanish. I am happy to be able to share my experience with other parents.
Thank You
Spanish Video Flash Cards.......2006-05-15
This video teaches Spanish using repition. My son thought that the video was "funny". He has asked to watch it again and again. The video displays an object then pronounces the spanish word. The best way to describe this is video flash cards. The video does a great job of showing the spanish word.
Great DVD.......2006-05-04
I have three children ages 3, 6 and 10 and they all loved this DVD. It really emphasizes every day houshold items and reinforces the spanish language very well. The bright colors and happy music make this a video which is not only educational but very entertaining. My kids have watched it over a dozen times and are excited to show me how much they have learned. This video is unlike others in that it reinforces the same words throughout the entire video using fun puppets and bright kids. If your serious about teaching your children spanish in a fun and entertaining way, this is a must buy for your household.

Santa movies can't help straining credulity--they're about Santa. Where some succeed in making us wish we were 6 years old again, though, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus only makes us wish we were stupider. That way, we'd be able to buy its premise, which is about as shatterproof as a bag of last year's candy canes. Eight-year-old Justin is in the running for a spot at the top of Santa's nice list as the holiday season roars in. He's a model student, sweet natured, and, unlike his buddy Bobby, impeccably mannered. What is he to make of a smooch-filled encounter between his mom and a red-suited fellow whose lips are more traditionally associated with bellowing ho, ho, ho, though? If he were an ingenuous lad, which is what we're led to believe, he'd ask. Instead, he reports this mother-of-all-holiday indiscretions to Bobby, who advises him to change his goody two-shoes ways quick like, before Santa kicks off his snow boots and tries to slip into his dad's (Corbin Bernsen's) shoes. After all, Santa's famously averse to naughty kids, and his mom (Connie Sellecca) is "a lot hotter" than Mrs. Claus. The stage is flimsily set, then, for a snow-covered barrage of Home Alone-style pranks, all designed to send Kris Kringle packing. At the mall, Justin launches into a loudspeaker tirade about toy-delivering home wreckers. At school, Santa takes commando-style jabs to the midsection. At home, he falls for the ol' rake-in-the-snow booby-trap treatment. As you'd expect, moments of sugarplum sweetness emerge, and poppy holiday jingles punch up the setup and chase sequences. It's the soundtrack, in fact, plus a minute or two of hapless Santa scenes that salvage this movie. In a stocking-stuffer survey, it'd rank somewhere between a slab of fruitcake and a potato slicer. --Tammy La Gorce

Light And Frothy Christmas Comedy With Some Fun Moments.......2006-12-12
Based on the famous Christmas song of the same name "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", is a pleasant festive diversion which is ideal to screen early in the Christmas season. While this 2001 television movie will never join the ranks of "Miracle on 34th Street", "It's A Wonderful Life", or 'White Christmas", as a bona fide Christmas classic it does have many things to recommend it. Blessed with some interesting performances by the leads, a few hilarious pratfalls and slap stick sequences involving a very harrassed Santa Claus, and some of the most spectacular location photography you could ever imagine shot in a snow clad Utah this film makes entertaining but not classic festive viewing
The service sucks.......2006-02-01
I have not received the merchandise. I received an email that said I may get it sometime in February. It's not like it was a very popular movie, so why the delay?
Uplifting Movie.......2004-12-04
I saw this movie and just thought it was the cutest thing. As soon as I see my granddaughters I plan to share it with them.
The characters were believable and blended so well together. It was refreshing to see a decent movie with a lot of holiday spirit and family values!
Good movie.......2003-06-24
Good movie some of the acting was so so. But it was funny and had a good story line. Anyone would like to see it especially near the holidays or even in summer.
20 Stars!!.......2003-06-16

Outstanding.......2004-03-17
The Mommy and Me video series is a must-have! They are extremely fun and educational. They are worth every penny you spend on them. My 17-month old daughter owns three dozens of videotapes including all Baby Einstein and Bumble Bee vidoes, but she keeps asking for these three videos. They are outstanding. Highly recommended!
