House, M.D. - Season Three .......2007-09-17
Great series. House is funny and a great actor. Great price for a complete series.
House is AMAZING!.......2007-09-17
House is the best series I have seen in a long time, maybe even since M*A*S*H. I am totally hooked. I love the character's, they have found a perfect cast. Incredible stories, humour, witty house-isms and most of all Hugh Laurie is absolutely amazing! Watching him in the bloopers made me appreciate his talent even more. This series is a must buy. I did have trouble with the first disk, part of it froze and was pixelating. I had to fast forward through that part so I plan on doing an exchange.
House, M.D. - Season Three.......2007-09-16
It is entertaining and great when you need a get away from the rituals of daily life. It is great to watch while working out on the treadmill.
Amazing.......2007-09-16
What can be said? Hugh Laurie and the cast come together for another season of snarky remarks and drama in yet another successful series of House.
buy it!.......2007-09-15
I love resignation. I've seen it over and over. The bloopers alone are worth buying this dvd. Especially with HL and RSL. A must see for any house fan

Customer Reviews:
Great show! - Excellent purchase!.......2007-09-16
Me and my wife are huge fans of Dr. House. Despite the fact that there have been other med-based shows, this definately defines intelligence in a show. Those who haven't seen the show, this is a must.
thoroughly enjoyed.......2007-09-10
I really liked these dvds. No commercials to watch. You can choose to watch all of them at the same time or just watch one episode at a time. I also recommend watching the bonus features. They add a new dimension to watching the shows.
House, MD.......2007-09-08
I really enjoyed the episodes. I like the fact that now I can watch House whenever, and whatever episode I wish to watch as well. I like the grouping of the first two seasons. You dont see that much but, it helps when your looking for specific items
Fantastic.......2007-08-29
No more needs to be said, a supremely intimate and rewarding series. I can't wait for further installments.
Hospital drama set in New Jersey.......2007-08-24
An excellent medical drama set in New Jersey. This follows the exploits of Dr. House and his team of three physicians as they grapple with various mystery diseases. Dr. Gregory House is a specialist in trouble shooting diseases that stymie the average diagnosticians. Arthur Conan Doyle said he patterned his famous detective Sherlock Holmes on a doctor he once worked under. House could be this man, updated of course to present times. This first two season set will bring tardy viewers of the series up to date, or just bring an excellent hospital mystery drama to your home.

Since Full House began, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) has been worried his girls would grow up too soon. In the show's seventh season, D.J. (Candace Cameron) continues to see Steve (Scott Weinger), but now he's in college--and has his own apartment. As for Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), she starts hanging out with an "edgy" junior high crowd (including The Practice's Marla Sokoloff). Nothing bad happens, of course, but it's enough to raise Danny's blood pressure a notch or two. Even Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) is tired of being treated like a little kid, so he eases up on a few rules.
Aside from the Katsopolis twins (Dylan and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit), who are now walking and talking, that leaves Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier). With Joey's assistance, Jesse becomes a leather-clad businessman when he takes over the Smash Club, where his old band got their start. At the opening, Ben Stein shows up as a restaurant reviewer, while the Del Rubio Triplets perform Devo's "Whip It" ("Another Opening, Another No Show"). That's the good news. The bad news hits a few episodes later when Danny's fiancée, Vicky (Gail Edwards), informs him that she's moving to New York ("The Perfect Couple").
For the most part, the seventh season represents a holding pattern for Full House. There are no cast additions or subtractions, but the characters do embark on some new adventures, mostly of the dating variety (plus, D.J.'s hair gets incrementally shorter, while Becky's gets darker). Notable episodes include "The Test," in which D.J. has a nightmare about her SATs (guest starring Vanna White), "The Last Dance," in which Jesse loses his grandfather, and "Too Little Richard Too Late," in which the legendary performer plays a benefit for Michelle's school--with Uncle Jesse on drums. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
Description
Fun and games, love and laughs - all under one roof! Full House is back for a sunny seventh season with 24 episodes full of remember-when joy. This time around, Jesse inherits the Smash Club, the venue where his band used to play. Joey falls for a comedienne who's into insult humor (sooo unTanner.) And Danny wins a perfect-couple contest with an unlikely ?fianc?e.he girls are busy, too: Michelle enters a soapbox derby. D.J. sweats the SATs and Stephanie starts a new school and makes a surprising new friend. But the biggest surprise comes last, when Danny gets an offer on the Tanner house at double its value. With the house so full and lives so busy, could it be time for everyone to split up and move on?

Full House 7th Season.......2007-09-16
I've been purchasing each season for my daughter but have noticed the DVD version looks like a second generation copy and is not of the same video quality currently on TV. It's unfortunate that whomever is responsible for releasing these DVDs doesn't use the original studio copy and digitally clean-up the video prior to creating the DVD image. It looks like a mediocre VHS quality pushed to a DVD. The DVD chapters are done like a newbie did it and there are no real special features. The creation of these DVDs are a quick money hit for whomever is doing it. If it's someone with the owning studio then they should be fired, and if its an release group the contract should be terminated.
If you have a Tivo and DVD creation software then do your own and you'll get the same or a lot better quality. I sure you teenage daughter or son would have no problem in generating a comparable copy of what your going to purchase. The best thing about this release is the packaging and the series.
Now other than the above complaints the series are just as good as they originally were, that under the impression that you originally liked them. My daughter loves them and that is why I buy them.
"We All Live Here".......2007-09-11
For six seasons, we've watched the Tanner family laugh, love, and learn together. And season seven offers another chance to enjoy the antics of this fun family.
Everyone continues to grow and learn. D.J. (Candace Cameron) is finding facing the SAT's a nightmare. On the plus side, her boyfriend Steve (Scott Weinger) has moved into his own apartment. Middle daughter Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) has to make all new friends when she enters a junior high school where she knows no one. Meanwhile, Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) must decide between her old best friend and her new best friend when Teddy (Tahj Mowry) moves back to town.
The adults face new challenges as well. Danny (Bob Saget) faces a hard decision with his fiancee. Joey (Dave Coulier) has a new girlfriend. Jesse (John Stamos) and Becky (Lori Loughlin) must deal with disciplining their twins. And Jesse inherits his band's old stomping grounds, that is, if he can keep The Smash Club open.
There are also some episodes with more serious themes. Stephanie leads an anti-smoking episode. Michelle enters a soap box derby and learns that girls can do anything, too. And the whole family learns some lessons when Jesse's grandfather unexpectedly dies.
By this point in the series, things were moving along fairly well. The characters and actors are well established, but they keep finding new challenges for everyone to deal with. The show is still sweet, but the cuteness factor has diminished as the girls have grown up. As have the use of the various catch phrases the characters used to say. This is still wholesome entertainment the entire family can enjoy.
Since this is season seven, most people have already made up their minds about the show. If you love it, you'll love this latest set. And if you don't, there's nothing here that will change your mind.

As a pleasant dose of holiday cheer, The Holiday is a lovable love story with all the Christmas trimmings. In the capable hands of writer-director Nancy Meyers (making her first romantic comedy since Something's Gotta Give), it all begins when two successful yet unhappy women connect through a home-swapping website, and decide to trade houses for the Christmas holiday in a mutual effort to forget their man troubles. Iris (Kate Winslet) is a London-based journalist who lives in a picture-postcard cottage in Surrey, and Amanda (Cameron Diaz) owns a movie-trailer production company (leading her to cutely imagine most of her life as a "coming attraction") and lives in a posh mansion in Beverly Hills. Iris is heartbroken from unrequited love with a cad of a colleague (Rufus Sewell), and Amanda has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend (Edward Burns), so their home-swapping offers mutual downtime to reassess their love lives. This being a Nancy Meyers movie (where everything is fabulously decorated and romantic wish-fulfillment is virtually guaranteed), Amanda hooks up with Iris's charming brother Graham (Jude Law), and Iris is unexpectedly smitten with Miles (Jack Black), a super-nice film composer on the downside of a failing relationship. --Jeff Shannon

Wow!.......2007-09-09
Great plot, wonderful actors, and I do hope to see a sequel or something similar. It is defiantly worth keeping!
Holiday ... Celebrate.......2007-08-24
Madonna sang once "holiday, celebrate, if you took a holiday, some time to celebrate, it would be ..it would be so nice." Holiday is more than nice, it is superb romantic comedy, about two modern ladies who do the geographic cure by swapping houses to get over broken hearts.
Iris is a London journalist who is in love with Jasper, a selfish columnist who is engaged but wants to have his cake and eat it too. Amanda is a Hollywood trailer producer who just ended yet another relationship with her cheating semi live-in boyfriend. When the two women connect on a house swap site to get away from it all they find themselves in unexpected romances.
Once they arrive at their polar opposite locations love finds them. Iris connects with film score composer Miles whose as decent as Jasper is awful. Iris also befriends a legendary Hollywood writer named Arthur who tells her to be the leading lady by having her watch movie of strong women characters.
Amanda falls head over heels with Iris' brother Graham whose nursing his own broken heart after being left a widowed single father. As they live two different lives the ladies find parts of themselves that had gone missing a long time ago.
A similar movie with an almost identical plot line is Tara Road starring Andie MacDowell.
Tara Road (2005)
Good movie!.......2007-08-19
I thought this movie was wonderful. Although, I have to mention that it made a bigger impact on me after the second viewing. I thought the 4 main characters played their roles wonderfully. I'd have to say that this movie is now roaming towards the top of my favorite list!
It's like George Lucas directed this skunk........2007-08-15
What can a red-blooded, married American male say about "The Holiday"? What started out as perhaps an interesting plot idea - two people switch houses and find happiness in each other's lives - quickly took a left turn. My wife sticks this thing into the DVD player and about two minutes later I was already beaten down by the corny dialogue and terrible wooden acting. Now, I can appreciate a good chick-flick as much as the next guy. I kinda like "Father of the Bride", "Legally Blonde", even "Sleepless in Seattle". But this thing stinks to high heaven.
Every one of the main actors was as bad as Jake Lloyd in "The Phantom Menace" (Yipee!), and Diaz was especially atrocious. I can only assume that George Lucas had some hand in this, since Winslet, Law, and Black are usually really fun to watch. Maybe they suffer because of the ridonkulous lines they had to deliver. It's like watching a Sweet Valley High book played out on film.
Go spend your money on something better than this. Like a junior-high production of "Death of a Salesman".
Pleasant Surprise!.......2007-08-06
I watched "The Holiday", not expecting much, but I found myself just loving this flick! It was so entertaining that I didn't want it to end. And it's just as good on the second and third viewings. A fun and lighthearted movie with a terrific cast, all!

The overall strength of the second season of House, M.D. proves that its first-year success wasn't a fluke. This season starts with Dr. House (Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie) pursuing his ex-wife Stacy (Sela Ward) and ending with a tragedy that could potentially be deadly for himself and two colleagues. The premise of each show follows a set routine--a patient is brought in with unusual symptoms; House challenges his trio of underlings to diagnose the problem; they treat the patient, usually incorrectly the first few tries; and then at the very last minute--through a revelation that often has little to do with the patient--House figures out what's wrong and saves the day. It would be easy for this set up to grow old fast. But because of the smart writing, nuanced acting, and believability of the characters (who're often dealing with unbelievable scenarios), the formula works on each of the 24 episodes that aired on Fox during the 2005-2006 season. Viewers have been conditioned by the Marcus Welbys of the TV world to think of doctors as saviors. Even on ER, the most narcissistic physician was selfless at heart. But House is a different breed. When he's at an off-track betting parlor and a woman collapses, he doesn't miss a beat. Still eying his race on television, he asks, "Is anybody here a doctor?" He'll mock a sick patient's complaints with a sarcastic, "Boo hoo!" And, if there happens to be a dead body around, he has no qualms about shooting it if he believes that could help diagnose another gun-shot victim.
Not that he's any more reasonable or compassionate to his boss Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), his oncologist best friend Wilson (Tony winner Robert Sean Leonard), or his young charges Foreman (Omar Epps), Cameron (Jennifer Morrison), and Chase (Jesse Spencer). He instructs his doctors to break into patients' homes as if they're cat burglars. He does not know the meaning of the phrase "politically correct." But because he spits out insults (as if he has a mild case of Tourette's) equally to both his patients and colleagues, the latter never flinch at his constant stream of inappropriateness. When his three young doctors storm into his office to report the declining condition of a patient by blurting out, "We have rectal bleeding," House says, "What? All three of you?" To sensitive Wilson, who is trying to get some work done without being interrupted, House says, "I know you're in there. I can hear you caring." And when Foreman's father says, "My son says you're a manipulative bastard," House replies, "It's a pet name. I call him Dr. Bling." Of course House actually does care about his patients, but he views a good bedside manner as the luxury of a doctor who has a healthy patient. But dying patients with seemingly incurable diseases need something more. They need House. --Jae-Ha Kim

Excelente serie.......2007-09-13
house season 2.......2007-08-28
Bought for my daughter for a present she watched it until she saw all the episodes a couple times at 17.5 hrs worth of material
People have such low standards.......2007-08-14
This show is OK. It lacks much creativity. Ever episode is the same. House frustrates the hospital administrators and is rude ( oh, but in an amusing gruff, lovable....blah, blah ...way ) and then he solves the case. I can not understand at all why this show would merit so many stars. 5 stars ??? Whatever. I do notice that a very large % of t.v. show for sale here on amazon have 5 stars .... how can that be? I mean, The Golden Girls has 5 stars too.
Amazing.......2007-08-10
I am so happy i got this DVD, the second season is awesome and i cant wait for the third one to come out.
i am already biting my nail wondering whats going to happen next.
I highly recommend it.

This big, fat theatrical bomb has a lot going for it. There's the three leads, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, playing three resurrected witches who wreak havoc on Salem, Massachusetts, 300 hundred years after they were hung. There's music, special effects, and magic. There's a surprisingly horror-filled plot. Whoops, hold up on that last one. It's probably the extremes that this film goes to (displaying a Disney label), such as the witches sucking the life out of a little girl in the first five minutes, that put the brakes on any success for Hocus Pocus. Older children, however, in the 8 and up range should get a kick out of all the weird goings-on. It's a good measure of Halloween thrills and chills. --Keith Simanton

He pops pills, watches soaps, and always, always says what's on his mind. He's Dr. Gregory House (Emmy nominee Hugh Laurie, Blackadder). Producers David Shore, Bryan Singer, Katie Jacobs, and Paul Attanasio haven't rewritten the hospital drama--at heart, it's a cross between St. Elsewhere, ER, and C.S.I.--but they've infused a moribund genre with new life and created one of TV's most compelling characters. More than any previous medical procedural, it resembles Attanasio's underrated Gideon's Crossing, but House is lighter on its feet. As fascinating as he is, the show wouldn't work as well if it were all House all the time (that would be like Sherlock Holmes without Watson or Moriarty). Fortunately, he's joined by an intriguing cast of characters, portrayed by a combination of experienced vets (Omar Epps, Lisa Edelstein, Tony winner Robert Sean Leonard) and new faces (Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer). Aside from the complicated cases they tackle each week, the sparks really fly when House's brilliant, if naïve charges are put to the test--and as the head of a teaching hospital, it's his job to test them (although his tough love approach is constantly landing him in hot water with Edelstein's administrator). From the first episode, House attracted a talented array of guests, including Robin Tunney ("Pilot"), Joe Morton ("Role Model"), and Patrick Bauchau ("Cursed") as Spencer's father. In addition, Chi McBride and Sela Ward appear frequently (with Ward returning for the second season). Viewers who first watched these 22 episodes on Fox will be gratified to note that the music has survived the transition to disc, such as the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want," as featured in both the pilot and season finale ("Honeymoon"). The only apparent omission is the credit theme (Massive Attack's "Teardrop") from the pilot. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

I wanna be a doctor..........2007-09-01
...but not House!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great tv show.
What makes an evil horrible guy sooo entertaining?
Ah well I guess it's one of life's mysteries.
Is it bad for society?
Nah.... maybe it's good that we get it out of our systems by watching House.
There we go! Help society! Watch House!
The perfect sentiment.
Seriously it's a really great show and truly worth watching. Take an hour out of your day and find out for sure. You won't regret it.
Best show on TV today.......2007-08-26
Most doctors today are concerned with covering their tuckus. Dr. House courts danger. This show is a medical fantasy, portraying what we would love to see in our doctors: fanatical dedication to making the patient well. Realism gets tossed out the window. Medical insurance isn't an issue. Cost isn't an issue. In the real world, if you do not have money or excellent insurance, well then Sir, you can die, and hospitals don't give a good tootsie roll.
House is a saint upon this earth, for all his arrogance and cutting remarks. What he DOES is more important than what he SAYS. Contrast the declared atheist, Dr. House, with Christians, who give lip about their devotion to God, while doing nothing to help their fellow man. It's about time that an atheist and a scientist was portrayed in a TV show as something other than a villain. America's too anti-intellectual and too anti-rational for its own good, which is why Bush is President, and we're squandering billions on Iraq instead of a trip to Mars.
Yearn for more........2007-08-23
Makes you yearn for more. You will love it. The best doctor series out there.
House.......2007-08-23
House M.D. Show is a way to escape a bit from reality and focus in an place where you are appreciated for what you do rather than for what you think, say or dress like. Also you look at difficult cases that are based pretty much on real stuff. That is why this series is so addictive.

Ending to a Fine Program.......2007-09-08
This is the very good final season of Full House, and it is full of all the trademark family quality from previous seasons. As usual it may not be for everybody and it won't work if you're not in the right mood, but when it hits you just so it's perfect. Unfortunately, all good things must come to and end and for one reason or another this was it for Full House. Clearly the show will live on forever through reruns and be popular for generations to come hopefully, and you never know-there could always be a reunion or a revival or something somewhere down the road. But for now and for those of us who have been collecting, be sure to get and enjoy the final season, and then maybe re-watch the whole show some time.
So bad it's good........2007-08-19
Even though this show has always been on the corny side, Full House is still an enjoyable show. Defintely one of my guilty pleasures and the complete eighth season is the final installment of this surprisely loved show. My favorite episode from this season is Dateless in San Franciso. I admit I used to love this show like crazy and don't you love the sappy melodramatic music that pops up at the last five minutes of every episode, it's hilarious! I can't believe how fast each season has come out and I'm sure fans of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are the main ingredigent for the success of the DVD sales. I highly recommend purchasing the eighth and every season of this sappy but entertaining show. Enjoy!
~*~Full House Season 8~*~ Episode list.......2007-08-08
This is the episode list for Full House Season 8!
1. Comet's Excellent Adventure
Jesse is so self absorbed in his own problems with "The Rippers" that he mistakenly tells Michelle she can walk the dog by herself.
2. Breaking Away
Letting go of your babies is hard to do as Jesse and Becky find out when it's time for the boys to go to pre-school.
3. Making out is Hard to Do
Jesse's competitive streak is unleashed when he learns that the Rippers' new lead singer has brought more success to the band than Jesse ever did. This experience prompts Jesse to get serious and form a new band of his own. When invited to her friend Gia's place for a party, Stephanie arrives armed with Pictionary--but the events of this gathering prove to be quite different than what Stephanie expected.
4. I've Got a Secret
What good is a secret club if it's not a secret. Danny spills the secret that Michelle told him about their secret club. Michelle gets kicked out of the club because of it.
5. To Joey, With Love
When your substitute teacher is somebody you live with, it's hard to maintain a fine line between the two. This is the case when Michelle--whose third grade class is in need of a substitute--begs Joey to fill the position. Eager to work with the children and be a good role model, Joey does his best to make a good impression, but when class begins, all the kids want is a free comedy session. When their out-of-control behavior prompts Joey to get tough, he ends up sending Michelle to the principal's office--a decision that places a serious damper on their close bond. Meanwhile, Jesse reluctantly agrees to let Danny audition as a guitarist for his new band, but what Jesse doesn't realize is that this longtime king of spic and span also knows how to rock 'n roll!
6. You Pet it, You Bought it
Remember how you used to be lucky if you scored a couple dollars from your sidewalk lemonade stand? Well, after earning a cool $221.00 with her own stand, Michelle heads straight to the candy store--but gets sidetracked and comes home with a donkey. Danny agrees to let her keep it until morning, which results in a long, loud evening that is only calmed when Jesse stays up all night serenading "Shorty" with a certain television theme song. The family narrowly survives this grueling time with Shorty, and although Michelle is sad to part with him, she decides it is best to send him to a more appropriate home.
7. On the Road Again
Many things are not the same as we remember them from our youth. This is the case for Jesse when his new band tours and he returns to his old motel room. And he sees it's a dump.
8. Claire and Present Danger
As Danny starts spending more time with Claire, Stephanie and Gia fantasize about the possibility of becoming stepsisters. Michelle, however, is not quite ready for these types of changes, and her methods of sabotaging her father's latest relationship are both shocking and hilarious. Meanwhile, DJ experiences some troubles in her own love life when her boyfriend Viper begins feeling threatened by her intellectually.
9. Stephanie's Wild Ride
You know getting more mature when you not only hear that little voice inside you but you actually listen to it. Until then it's great to have somebody help you. Such is the case for Stephanie when she wants to put herself in danger and DJ stops her.
10. Under the Influence
Friends don't let other friends drive drunk. When Kimmy gets intoxicated at a party, DJ risks destroying their friendship when she refuses to let her get behind the wheel. While Kimmy is frustrated at being treated like a child, she may soften when she learns the emotional reason behind DJ's insistence. Meanwhile, after Michelle angrily snaps at the twins for getting in her way, she enlists the help of Jesse to make amends with them--a request that leads to unprecedented chaos in the Tanner kitchen!
11. Arrest Ye Merry Gentlemen
When she regrets purchasing a tacky Christmas gift for her father, Michelle convinces Jesse to take her back to the store on Christmas Eve for an exchange. Crotchety store owner Mr. Dreghorn is not very cooperative, however, and when Jesse and Michelle push him to the limit, he places them under arrest and locks them in the shop. Back at home, the family does their best to help the twins perceive Santa as something more than a frightening monster.
12. D.J's Choice
Stunned when Viper suddenly breaks up with her, DJ finds immediate comfort with former flame Nelson. As their common experiences with heartbreak help them reconnect romantically, DJ finds herself in a difficult situation when Viper returns, begging her to take him back. Meanwhile, an act of vandalism at the community playground prompts everyone in town to team up and repair the damage.
13. The Producer
Danny is initially delighted when Michelle takes interest in writing about him for a Take Your Daughter to Work assignment, especially since he is confident that his boss will be giving him a promotion. When he is snubbed for a producer position by Becky--who has not been working as long as him--Danny feels the pangs of jealousy and makes an impulsive decision to quit the show. When he is quickly replaced by the loud and obnoxious Phil Blankman, Danny's bottled-up resentment toward Becky leads to a sudden blow-up. Meanwhile, sugar lovers DJ and Stephanie have a face-off to see who can avoid sweets the longest, Nicky and Alex exasperate their parents with their frequent public tantrums, and Joey has difficulty coping when his favorite childhood snack is discontinued.
14. Super Bowl Fun Day
A promise made should be a promise kept. Joey should have kept his promise to take Michelle's science group to the science museum instead of a bar just to be able to watch the Super Bowl.
15. My Left and Right Foot
Some seemingly harmless teasing from DJ and Stephanie leaves Michelle feeling self-conscious about the size of her feet--but maybe some shrink wrap and ice water will help cut them down to size! Danny and Joey team up with Jesse to do a bedtime singing routine for the twins, just as they used to do with Michelle, but when Becky tries to join in, they have a hard time explaining to her that her "unique" singing voice doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the group.
16. Air Jesse
When she volunteers as a coach for a charity basketball game, DJ chooses Danny, Joey, and Jesse to play on her team. The only problem is that Jesse can barely dribble a ball (literally) and despite a cram practice session with the guys, he seems to be a hopeless case. But when a certain NBA sensation shows up at the basketball court, will he have what it takes to prepare Jesse for the big event? Meanwhile, Becky--who doesn't have the heart to be honest about a hideous blouse that Stephanie made for her at school--opts instead to sport it in public.
17. Dateless in San Francisco
As Danny prepares for his first Valentine's Day with Claire, Becky gets excited about what Jesse will have set up for them this year, but she is disappointed to find that he appears to be losing interest in being the "King of Romance" he once was. With this exciting day approaching, even Michelle's third grade class gets into the spirit. With their class party coming up, Lisa has the bright idea of pairing all the girls up with the boys, and Michelle and Teddy are placed together. Determined to turn up the heat a little bit, Michelle's efforts to push the romance only end up alienating Teddy. Joey, too, is having some relationship woes of his own; he has received a gift from a secret admirer, but he is afraid that it's from Mrs. Carruthers, the obnoxious woman who can't seem to keep herself away.
18. We Got the Beat
Practice makes perfect. When you don't practice you get what Stephanie and her newly formed band was at their debut.
19. Taking the Plunge
Crushed when she receives a rejection letter from Stanford University, DJ is left with a feeling of uncertainty about her future. Kimmy, who knows that DJ will still be attending an excellent school somewhere, is concerned about what will happen to their friendship when high school is over. Unable to cope with the idea of losing her best pal, Kimmy decides that her best option is to elope immediately with her plumber boyfriend Duane. When DJ catches wind of this, she and Nelson fly down to Reno and change her mind--but when she leaves a note for her father explaining her whereabouts, a freakish misunderstanding prompts a frantic Danny to believe that DJ and Nelson are the ones getting hitched! Meanwhile, Joey is excited for the opportunity to meet with Queen Elizabeth, but his improper etiquette at the reception leads to serious trouble.
20. Up On the Roof
DJ tries to pull the ultimate senior prank. She put the principal's car on the roof. Then it starts raining. But Principal Robolard doesn't mind it.
21. Leap of Faith
When an elderly yet feisty woman guest stars on Wake Up, San Francisco with spirited stories about her bungee jumping hobby, Becky is inspired to spice up her own life with this thrilling new experience. Upset to learn that Becky is seriously going through with this, Jesse does his best to talk her out of it, but his efforts only result in friction between the couple. Meanwhile, when Michelle convinces Danny to let her attend a concert with DJ. Stephanie--who was originally supposed to go with her older sister--conspires with DJ and forces Michelle to surrender, but will the girls soften when they realize the real reason why their baby sister wanted to attend the show so much?
22. All Stood Up
After rising past the embarrassment to ask a hunky classmate to a school dance, Stephanie is crushed when Ryan stands her up on the night of the event. Seeing his daughter in such pain is more than Danny can handle, and when his rage is unleashed, he confronts Ryan directly, giving the young man a thing or two to think about regarding his selfish behavior. Ryan stuns Stephanie by apologizing and asking if they can start fresh, but what will she do when she recognizes her father's role in all of this? Meanwhile, as Michelle gets increasingly frustrated over DJ's ability to beat her in everything, the 8-year-old is forced to get downright devious in order to come out on top. Jesse is advised by his doctor to lower his blood pressure, but with a certain person named Kimmy Gibbler living right next door, relaxation is not as simple as it sounds!
23. Michelle Rides Again (1)
Changes are on the horizon for the Tanner clan as this 2-part season finale begins. High school senior DJ is planning to forego prom night, which sends Kimmy on a chase to find her best friend a date. Former business partners Jesse and Joey have the opportunity to appear on live television with professional wrestlers, but this is hardly the type of material they are used to working with. Stephanie is rehearsing a portion of Romeo and Juliet with a handsome classmate, but she doesn't understand why he always freezes up during the kissing scene. Lastly, Michelle is excited when Danny gives her permission to participate in a horseback riding competition, but the pressure to win results in a terrifying accident.
24. Michelle Rides Again (2)
At the hospital, everyone is relieved to learn that Michelle is clear of any serious danger. Unfortunately, her head injury has resulted in amnesia, and nobody is sure when her memory will return. Upon Michelle's arrival back at home, the family tries to help by surrounding her with familiar things, but the experience creates mostly fear and frustration for Michelle. Meanwhile, Stephanie finds out the true reason behind her classmate's reluctance to kiss her, and Jesse and Joey make an important decision about their working lives. By the episode's end, the entire family receives quite a few special surprises--particularly DJ, whose escort for the senior prom is the very last person she expected.

Inquisitive Viewer.......2007-09-15
After seeing the "Hollywood" movie of The Secret dvd. I was not contented with fashionable knowledge that is not, and has not been a secret. I had a strong point of realization that my mind is so powerful, and I was reminded what ever I am thinking, I will attract.... from watching the dvd "The Secret". However, there was something missing..., I could not make the connection of my spiritual being to accept such message as the truth. More so as luck and good fortune.
Until I viewed "Abraham The Secret Behind The Secret". My spiritual inquisitive mind was finally satisfied, that there was more for me to learn and experience the true knowledge of wisdom, as I can connect with my inner being and let all is well as I come to peace with source...Thank you Abraham for revealing the True Secret Behind The Secret!
The Secret Behind "The Secret".......2007-09-12
Very poor. The content was all about Esther & Jerry Hicks--not about "The Secret." Also, it was not professionally done. The voices were poor quality. I would like to return it if possible. I understand you sell used discs.
Simple brilliant and inspiring.......2007-08-22
This is one of my favorites in the collection I have from Esther and Jerry. I have all their books on my office desk and continually at different periods of the day pick this one up up and read a few pages then return peacefully to my work tuned in and turned on to new messages from "abraham". As a teacher myself for over 15 years now I refer to their works and send hundreds of clients to register with their site ... please buy this book and spread the word you will help change the world and we need you beside us.
Excellent introduction to Universal Laws.......2007-08-10
The Abraham material as provided through Esther Hicks is the best practical tool information I've come across to help my clients understand and utilize these Universal Laws. This particular product is an excellent starting place for this journey. I recommend it highly.
Excellent movie on Manifesting...........2007-08-10
I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to understand the Laws of the Universe and how to manifest their desires in life!
Description
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter David Mamet first sat in the director's chair for this sly, merciless thriller, one of the most original and acclaimed films of the eighties. Mamet's witty tale of a therapist and best-selling author (Lindsay Crouse) who must confront her own obsessions when she meets an attractive cardsharp (Joe Mantegna) is as psychologically acute as it is full of twists and turns, a rich character study told with the cold calculation of a career criminal.
Customer Reviews:
"The Criterion Treatment" ain't what it used to be.......2007-08-28
First off, 5 stars for the film itself. But you're not getting very good value for your money in comparison the MUCH cheaper original release.
But as a Criterion Collection release, "House of Games" has precious few additions. It is nice to get a commentary by Ricky Jay and Mamet himself, and the other brief interviews and video footage are okay, but for me personally it doesn't justify the SIGNIFICANT price increase over the original bare-bones video release.
I'm a fan of Mamet's plays, books, and films, and so it pains me a little to have less-than-complimentary things to say here. But this edition should qualify as rental-only for anyone who already owns the previous release. Since no store in my area carries this Criterion title, I reluctantly made the choice to purchase it and hoped I would be overwhelmed enough to justify the extra $$$. I enjoyed the bonus features, but had a bit of buyer's remorse due to the high price.
Generally, one buys "special editions" for the bonus features AND the original film and then hopes all of the material is worth revisiting again and again. In this case of this release, one trip through the bonus features is quite enough. Rent it.
4.5 Stars. Great con/crime thriller........2007-08-25
I learned in Entertainment weekly that Joe Mantegna won a Tony for playing Rick Roma in David Mamet's play Glengarry Glen Ross, when they were turning it into a film the studio wanted a larger name, Al Pacino, which lead to an oscar nomination for Pacino. As a consolation prize Mamet offered Mantegna the lead in his directorial debut House of Games. House of games is a psychological mind game/crime movie that plays like a modern film noir and enough smoking to be one.
The Game: A con/confidence game.
The Players:
Mike- Played by Mantegna is an old school con man a dinosaur of con men. He can talk with the best of them.
Margaret Ford- A famous therapist who has a best selling book out and comes to meet Mike by trying to help out a patient who owes money to him.
The Rules- There is none.
To go in detail of any of these cons would ruin the movie, it's best to know as little as possible. You don't know who is who or who is playing who, and that's the best part as we as viewers don't know if were in on the con or not. The last con was a bit I think obvious but not the ending.
House of Games is also in Roger Eberts Great series.
Mamet's directorial debut gets the Deluxe DVD treatment!.......2007-08-20
If you've suffered through the bare-bones, full-screen MGM release that came out a few years ago, this new edition will come as a fantastic upgrade.
Easily, the highlight for David Mamet fans is the audio commentary with the man and actor Ricky Jay. These two old friends engage in lively philosophical discussions on a variety of topics, including why President Bush is such a terrible liar, the art of the con game and why psychiatry is a scam. Ricky Jay talks about the nature of the con and some of the lingo involved while keeping Mamet talking by prodding him with questions. Mamet is his usual blunt self as he constantly talks about how Orion messed up distributing the film in this engaging and thought-provoking commentary.
There is an interview with actress Lindsay Crouse who mentions that Mamet wrote the role of Dr. Ford for her (They were married at the time) and says that he spent five years trying to get the film made because the studios found the material too dark.
Also included is an interview with Joe Mantegna. He talks about his history with Mamet that goes back to Chicago theatre in the 1970s. He eventually appeared in the stage version of Glengarry Glen Ross when Al Pacino turned it down and went on to win a Tony for it. He talks about how he related to the character of Mike and recounts some amusing anecdotes about filming.
"David Mamet on House of Games" is 25-minute making of featurette that the film's producer and his wife shot in Vermont while Mamet was preparing the film and in Seattle while he was shooting it. There is some great footage of Mamet and his buddies playing poker in Vermont. The same guys also appear in the film in the poker scene.
"The Tap" features the original storyboards to the short con that Mike and his group demonstrate to Dr. Ford but in order to protect the working con man, Ricky Jay changed it to another con called the Flue.
Finally, there is a theatrical trailer.
