One of the best instructional DVDs ever!.......2004-07-28

Richie brings warmth, grace and passion to this DVD. It contains several of his signature songs, plus information on how he fingers all the chords he uses. This is a particularly unique DVD due to the fact that Richie is so willing to share his knowledge. That and he plays in open D tuning which is a rarity for someone to use this tuning all the time or at least most of the time as Richie does. I am blind, and found many problems with previous instructional guitar videos. But Richie's descriptions of where he is placing his fingers on the fret board makes this DVD spectacular!. Very informative and definitely worth getting if you want to learn the guitar style of Richie Havens or develop your own!.

A really warm, down-to-Earth, approach to an instructional DVD presenting the unique and dynamic open-tuning guitar style of the great Richie Havens! Very informative, with some great full versions of his signature songs. Highly recommended.
