Awesome, That is all I can say all the heroics from the year the players went to war to the subway series of 2000,from Don Larsons perfect game in the 56 world series to Tino Martinez unforgettable grand slam in game 1 of the 98 world series. Simply Put no yankee fan should go without this collection.

vintage, classic, nostalgic. all words sum this box set up. very good set to have for the avid fan. i saved it for a rainy day. only wished the coverage of some of the old games were a bit longer, as you dont get the whole game, just key moments... and the more recent seasons, i already had from another box set, so was a little disappointed with that, but that was my own doing. and not every world series is covered... i think only 17 out of the 26. overall, a great buy to have all the yankee classic moments preserved on dvd. go yankees!

It's Hard Being a Yankee Fan..........2006-07-31

If you are a baseball fan you will love this collection. You won't get the complete games of other DVD's by A&E, but in this collection of 17 Yankee championships you will get all the key moments in the World Series games.

When you see the old Yankee Stadium in the old stock footage you will notice the grave tomb stone monuments in centerfield (in the field of play) where they buried Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Miller Huggins. When Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio died they buried them next to Ruth, Gehrig, and Huggins. You can see thier tomb stones when you visit Monument Park in Yankee Stadium.

There are a lot of "if's" in Yankee lore. Being a Yankee fan is hard, very hard...there's been hardship. For example, the Mazerowski home run in 1960, the George Brett home run off of Goose Gossage in the 1980 ALCS. The Gonzalez 9th inning hit in the 7th game of the 2001 World Series...the list goes on.

All I can say is that those Yankee shortcommings broke my heart and scarred my soul.

Our New York Yankees HAVEN'T won a World Championship in OVER 6 years. It will be 7 years after the 2006 World Series:

The St. Louis Cardinals will defeat the Detroit Tigers 4 games to 1 game in the 2006 World Series. The odds in Vegas are 12 to 1 for St. Louis which is very surprising. I'm not a betting man, but if I were I would bet the house on the Cardinals. Do yourself a favor and go to Vegas and win yourself some money. If you bet $1,000, you will get $12,000, if you bet $3,000 you will get $36,000. You will win. Take my word for it.

In the past 30 years I've named the World Series winner 29 times before the start of the playoffs. The only time I came up short was in 1988. I took Oakland that year. My record is great because I know the game of baseball like no other human being who has ever analyzed the game (recently, I called the 2004 Red Sox Championship in June of 2004 and the 2005 White Sox Championship in May of 2005).

Our Yankees don't have the starting and middle relief pitching to compete for the World Championship this year. I wish they did. Furthermore, they have a cancer at 3rd base in a sulking, overrated, prima donna, "me only", and vastly tumorous player. Many teams don't have to deal with that major problem and headache. Call him Mr. Dissension.

Being a lifelong Yankee fan is an everlasting bond with the past and present; with a franchise who has had it's ups and downs (mostly good times). When my childhood idol Mickey Mantle passed away, I had the same feelings of sadness, grief, and loss when my father passed.

When Yankee Captain Thurman Munson died in the 1979 plane crash there wasn't a dry eye in my household. To me it was like losing a brother, a sister, an uncle. When Billy Martin died prematurely the world stopped for me.

The New York Yankees are the class of American sports and when personal tradgedy strikes it hits a nerve with all of us who grew up rooting for our beloved team. I don't think any other franchise can conjure up the deep sentiments and emotions a true Yankee fan can.

Someday, hopefully soon, our New York Yankees can return to glory.

Racing w/ the Woodstock generation; NOT what I expected .......2004-10-18

The cover of this DVD features, along with some photos of some vintage racing machines (heretofore locked away in the memories of the model kits I worked on with my father at a very young age), the promise that you will "See many of the sports' legendary drivers in their prime: Mario Andretti, Parnelli Jones, Jackie Stewart, Al and Bobby Unser, and NASCAR legends Bobby Isaac and 'The King' Richard Petty as they join guest stars Kirk Douglas, Dick Smothers and James Garner to bring this thriling sport vibrantly to life."

Sorry, but that's a gross exaggeration. Any Sunday evening edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" will show more actual racing highlights than this entire DVD. I should have been suspicious of the running time (51 minutes) when I first saw this on display; a feature this short would be hard-pressed to contain the amount of action that one would expect from a "documentary" that suggests coverage of action from Indy, Formula One, and NASCAR. In fact the one race that provides the most action in this presentation is a celebrity pro/am race for charity organized by Kirk Douglas.

NASCAR fans will probably be the most disappointed, hoping to get an idea from whence today's technologically sophisticated and mass-marketed, multi-media driven sport originated, but as the sport was nowhere near as widely covered in 1970 as it is now, it gets scant coverage on this DVD. Indeed, NASCAR's biggest stars at the time, the aforementioned Isaac and Petty, have perhaps three or four quotes between them. Confusingly for the non-NASCAR initiated, Petty states that the biggest event for the circuit (then as now) is the Daytona 500...and from there we have an abbreviated, in-car view of what it's like to drive...at Charlotte Motor Speedway (the Lowe's Motor Speedway of today). Huh? Explain that again to me, please? You do get some glimpses of what even today are considered the most exotic stock cars ever to run (the 426 cubic-inch, Hemi-powered Dodge Daytona Charger and Plymouth SuperBird), but that's a scant consolation.

As for the Formula One series, once a far more competitive circuit than nowadays and at the time led by one of its most endearing (and enduring) personalities in Scottish champion Jackie Stewart, we get even less coverage, despite both the implied and the obvious level of superiority over the other forms of racing covered. Then-Governor Ronald Reagan gets more face time handing off the trophy from the innaugural California 500 to an Indy journeyman who himself isn't even interviewed by the producers of the documentary.

This DVD is probably more enjoyable to people who actually attended races during that era (I believe I'll hand it off to my dad the next time I see him), as it does seem to document accurately the racing experience, certainly from the fan's point of view as I heard it from both my mom and dad when I was growing up. But I can't honestly recommend this to anyone under the age of at least 45 or so.

Once Upon A Wheel.......2004-07-23

If you like the glory days of racing in documetories and movies your gonna love this one. Lots of great shots of arguably the finest oval ever made, Ontario Motor Speedway. Unfortunatly this track like most other great southern california tracks is long gone. I was fortunate enough to go to many great races at this track and I can relive them when watching this movie, along with seeing many other great tracks, cars, racers and celebrities from around the world. This film may seem alittle cheesy by todays standards but, remember, this documentory was made in about 1970 and is quite good and quite a rare format for its time.

16 clips of fights from movies, and they are all pretty good.......2006-07-23

I was rather surprised that I enjoyed this so much. I have seen all the fights before, except a couple. There was one with liam neeson as a boxer that I will have to check out. The rest are short clips from fights in movies like Fist of Legend, Rumble in the Bronx, and that retarded one from Timecop.

Then as a bonus you have hong kong legend TSUI HARK doing a commentary. And since he worked on some of these movies, we get some very good insight. Not one of the better commentaries I have heard, but still very enjoyable.

The rest of the extras are all minor but all fun. The best is a featurette on how to stage your own movie fights, stats on the fighters in these movies, and trivia.

This disc is only 50 minutes long but does have good 5.1 sound, and it is something you will watch at least a couple of times.

Less than 10 bucks u basically getting a multiple fighting and action scene from several movie, half which is asian import hk, and rest is u.s. Half of which is not that good, the one that i like is jet lee one and martial art, maybe just me, sound is actually not bad at all, worth buying.

Dissapointing.......2003-12-27

The only 2 REAL ultimate fights on this is from Blade, and The legend of Drunken Master. I mean Scarface? Gladiator? SNATCH?! They are good movies, but those scenes DO NOT belong on an Ultimate Fights Dvd. Hopefully they can do a Vol.2 with Blade 2, Jet Li, Matrix, stuff like that FIGHTS! I don't want a dvd of brawls or a long crappy shootout.

What a cool DVD! I've never seen anything quite like it before and the quality of the fight selection was really impressive. The best part was where they teach you how to stage a fight just like in the movies! Dont miss this one!!

A Nice Sampler of Robben Ford.......2007-01-23

This is a highlights video mainly comprised of selected material from Robben Ford's other instructional videos. If you plan to purchase them, you probably don't need this one. But if you are not sure, this is a nice sample of what's on the other videos.
None of Robben Ford's videos are really designed to teach the early beginner. He can REALLY play and has a deep musical knowledge. The DVD does provide great inspiration for the beginner, and that is how it seems many really good guitarists got started, hearing and seeing it, and saying THATS what I want to be able to do.
In addition to some instruction, Robben Ford and the Blue Line perform a couple tunes at the TV studeo. Good stuff!
There is some good bonus material on the DVD. Some other guitarists giving tips on bends, chord progressions, and using a pick. Also there are a couple of tunes from other highlights videos, one is BB King.
I also recommend Ford's Back to the Blues parts one and two DVD, a nice deal at about three hours run time. This is also pretty advanced stuff, but inspirational.
I highly recommend the New Morning Paris Concert DVD of Robben Ford. Really great performance and production!
