Music and dance forms from Trinidad, Brazil, Bolivia, New Orleans, Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia, Mexico, China, El Salvador, Cuba, Philippines, Japan and indigenous (San Francisco) take the streets once a year in San Francisco.

Where else would you find groups like Sambasia. This group combines Japanese Taiko drum rhythms blended with samba from Brazil. This polyrhythmic "New World Music" comes from the blending of cultures while still respecting the original traditions.

The lesser know forms of carnaval are fascinating as well. The Bolivian and Nicaraguan traditions are especially strong. The little Bolivian kids are as cute as can be.

This DVD gives you a front row seat and captures the spirit of Carnaval San Francisco.
