Description

Drive-in goddess and `80s action queen Sybil Danning (of CHAINED HEAT and REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS fame) stars as a lusty college professor who seduces a naïve student (Eric Brown of PRIVATE LESSONS) as part of a sordid plot to frame him for the murder of her wealthy in-laws. But in a world of passion, deceit, cheesy rock ballads and awesome Danning nudity, not everything is what it seems to be. Not much of a story but enough nudity to keep you interested. Not a great movie but ok for a rental.

Sybil Danning ! Super hot.......2007-06-28

Let's be honest, are we looking for good acting or good plot in this kind of movie. Sybil Danning is the only reason to consider. She shows her assets numerous times and what a sight and already worth the price of this DVD. And I have to say what a lucky kid Eric Brown is. He was in two different movies with 2 different Euro sexy stars (the other one is Private lesson with Sylvia Kristel)

The picture quality is good, clear and sharp. The Mono sound is ok, as you are not going to appreciate its dialogue anyway. The dvd has no extra features but again with Sybil Danning as the main attraction, who needs extra. Highy recommended.

Fire Fizzles After a While, but Still Very Entertaining.......2004-01-09

This movie is entertaining but not for the usual way a film is good. This film has the power to hook you in. For some reason you want to sit until the end even though the plot is cliched, mixed up and extremely corny. There are too many unanswered questions leaving the viewer to wonder if they missed something when it was the film's direction that missed everything. The plot had more holes in it than swiss cheese. The acting was pretty good ( compared to other BET films ). I was also glad to see that BET is shoveling more money for film production. This was not as cheap looking as many BET films though the set looked like a live soap opera. There were not enough character explanations. All and all this was not a great film but for some reason it hooks you in. The actors did good jobs and I was satisfied with the ending. Still there were major plot problems that outweighed the positive outcome of the film. Three stars was all I could muster. I will recommend this to people who love BET films because it is one of the better ones. But to someone looking for a REAL mystery you might want to skip this altogether. This plot has been done for a thousand other movies and most of them did it much better.

Not Bad.......2003-12-24

Mel Jackson really has a nack for playing guys that you love to hate!(smile) His performance is really the only reason to tune into this weak suspense thriller. Vanessa Williams who has really come a long way in her acting skills, gives a rather wooden perfomance this time out. Tangi Miller's performance seems abit more natural and she and Mel are 'hot' on screen together! Hopefully BET will utilize the talents of these two performers for future movie projects. This movie deals with stolen artifacts, betrayal and lots of cash. I would recommend seeing some of the other BET movies before this one, but this is a decent entry to the series. That is unless you are a Mel Jackson fan, then you might want to place this one higher up on your list.

Great Thriller! Full of suspense and a few surprises. Great cast too! I even fell in love with the supporting actors! An ideal movie to watch with your significant other. I saw it first on BET and enjoyed it thoroughly! This is definitely a must see.

Can Sybil Danning EVER Keep Her Clothes On???.......2005-05-29

In thisovie Sybil Danning plays Diane , a teacher who seduces one of her male students so she can inherit a wealthy estate. In real life female teachers who do this go to Prison. Not so for Ms. Danning. Then we have a lot of twists in the plot and the viewer is supposed to beliee that Ms. Danning and the geek student actually have something in common and have a "meeeting of the minds" which encourages them to stay together. I give this movie 5 stars because I gotta admit that Ms. Danning DOES look pretty good in various stages of undress!!!

Sexy Sybil Danning is the only Spark in this Fire........2001-11-03

During the 80's, New World Pictures was famous for generating a lot of low quality B movies. Of these I really liked, They're Playing with Fire, featuring Playboy Covergirl Sybil Danning, at her very best playing a manipulative Femme Fatale with a zest for deflowering her young students.
Sybil plays Diane, a College English Professor who schemes with her impotent husband played by Andrew Prine, into scaring his mother and aunt into a rest home and inheriting their estate. Sybil seduces her incredibly wooden co star played by Eric Brown, on a yacht and convinces him to do the deed. Sybil is so convincing in this scene she would be able to ....
Before Brown can scare the in-laws a masked psycho shows up and kills them. The movie then turn into a gory slasher flick. The rest of theflick attempts to make a murder mystery out of this. Believe me, the only spark in this Fire is Sybil Danning. She is one phenomenal woman.

Sybil Danning gives her greatest performance in this low budget erotic thriller/slasher film. In fact she is the only one who keeps this poorly scripted and silly thriller alive. The three nude scenes that Sybil appears in are the most INCREDIBLE in FILM HISTORY! Sybil dominates her co stars in the acting department also. She is the only one who seems convincing as the greedy femme fatale who uses her charms to manipulate her conspirators to obey her demands to get at her mother in laws inheritance. The film itself is below standard, but SYBIL DANNING IS INCREDIBLE!
