Hedonistic bachelor Charlie (Charlie Sheen) is a jingles writer who, he blithely states, makes a lot of money for doing very little work, sleeps with beautiful women who don't ask about his feelings, drives a Jag and lives at the beach, and sometimes, in the middle of the day, for no reason at all, likes to make himself a big pitcher of margaritas and take a nap out on the sundeck. His brother, Alan (Jon Cryer), evicted from his house by his soon-to-be-ex-wife, is "rigid, inflexible, uptight, obsessive and anal-retentive." Charlie and Alan are "twisted Jungian archetypes," according to series co-creator Chuck Lorre in one of this set's bonus features. If by "twisted Jungian archetypes," he means Oscar and Felix from The Odd Couple, then yes, Charlie and Alan are "twisted Jungian archetypes," and this inaugural season finds rich comic tension in their period of adjustment. Charlie is a Man Behaving Badly, whose idyllic life is upended when "fuddy-duddy" Alan moves in, accompanied by his impressionable 10-year-old son, Jake (Angus T. Jones), with whom he shares custody with his iceberg-cold, sexually confused (a comic conceit thankfully abandoned by season's end) estranged wife, Judith (Marin Hinkle). Alan is a single father who is appalled by his amoral brother's lifestyle and by the influence Charlie might have on Jake ("Uncle Charlie, I understand the point spread, but I'm still confused about the vig"). And then there's Berta (effortless scene-stealer Conchata Ferrell), Charlie's formidable, tart-tongued housekeeper who is initially driven out the door by Alan's fussiness ("The peanut butter stains on Jake's shirts really require an enzyme presoak").
Two and a Half Men is a guy show that sets feminism back a good three decades. Women are portrayed as either bimbonic objects of lust (Transformers' Megan Fox guest stars as Berta's teenage granddaughter), vengeful and retaliative (Heather Locklear as Alan's divorce lawyer), crazy hot (Jenna Elfman as an unstable single mother on the run), or emasculating (Holland Taylor as Charlie and Alan's mother, or, as Charlie refers to her, "Mom, the Impaler"). The charming Melanie Lynskey's is a particularly thankless role, that of Rose, Charlie's "insightful and disturbing" stalker, who becomes Jake's babysitter. While Charlie's "bad-boy act" could quickly get old in lesser hands, Sheen, in the past not the most natural of comic actors, is in his element. Charlie's genuine affection for Jake goes a long way toward redeeming his character (and lack of it). Two and a Half Men, a People's Choice Award-winner its first season, really adds up with a crudely funny sense of humor that is all kinds of wrong, but also smart and, at times, even sweet. --Donald Liebenson

Hilarious!!.......2007-09-01
This is the funniest show on television today. I can't believe that US audiences have had to wait so long to get this DVD set. I can't wait to see it. I didn't start watching until it moved into the time slot Raymond was in so I missed the early years. Does anyone who already has the set know if the vanity cards that display (ever so briefly) at the end of every show are on the DVDs? They are hysterical also. If you don't know what I'm talking about go to Chuck Lorre's website and check them out. You have to pause the show right at the end to see them. It's easy with Tivo and so worth it! I'm ordering my set today. Bring on season 2 (and 3, etc!!).
Charlie Sheen Saves His Career.......2007-08-08
Charlie Sheen saved his career with this show....This show is hilarious mostly due to the comic timing of Sheen and Cryer.....Sheen is basically playing a version of himself (minus the drug abuse that has plagued him in the past) Cryer does the whole neurotic thing to a T, showing why the producers of Friends were wrong to pass over him for the role of Ross (yes, true story) The only negative is the kid..There is no need for him..The show could be an all out R rated comedy similar to Married With Children in edginess but the kid is not a fit..He cant act and is out of place..He should be on Hannah Montana as Hannah's dorky fat friend and not on this show......It will be funny in a year or two to see what the writers and producers do when the kid is 14 years old and 200 pounds all those cutesy fart jokes just wont cut it....More Charlie, more Jon, more of the mother, LESS of the kid
It's about time!.......2007-05-28
Finally this show is on DVD. I thought it would never happen! Keep them coming! Kudo's to Charlie and Company, I don't think there has ever been a funnier show made. May we have many, many years until it's "Two and a half Old Men"! John, Arlington TX.
A SITCOM THAT DREW CONSISTENT LAUGHS.......2007-05-27
Most of my friends who have seen this show wouldn't think twice before they concurred: it's flat out hilarious. I had my reservations about Charlie Sheen in a role not unlike his cameo at the tail-end of Spin City--a suave yuppie and a consummate Lothario--but he is the delight of this party! Few can fit so snugly in the role of a relaxed, affluent young retiree lounging in his Malibu seafront apartment when he's not effortlessly schmoozing with the opposite gender. He's at his wry sharpest.
There's excellent chemistry between him and Jon Cryer, who plays his uptight, righteous elder brother. As they tackle mature subjects such as frivolous relationships and artificial insemination and pretty much everything that surrounds this nature of things, the brother's smart-mouthed son is kept ever so cleverly in the dark. These parallel tracks of young and old humor lend the show some sparkling dimensions. The little boy, Angus Jones, is a natural. Some of us may have seen him at the Emmy Awards last year. An outspoken housekeeper, a domineering mother, and a cutting curmudgeon of an ex-wife round out an ensemble cast; any episode featuring Holland Taylor's portrayal of a prim and proper modern-day mom of the two brothers in her crisp Chanel skirts and bright red lipstick can almost guarantee a laugh-riot.
The true hallmark of a successful sitcom is the degree to which you end up warming up to its characters. Amidst its spate of one-liners, 2&1/2 Men does a fairly decent job of making viewers relate to its characters. None of these archetypal characters is new, but each is idiosyncratic without being wildly over-the-top. There are even some touching episodes such as the one when Charlie's favorite neighborhood girl sets off to a distant destination, leaving his supposedly wooden heart all aflutter.
If the recent drought of funny shows on TV is any indication, sitcoms are no cakewalk. There have only been a handful of the truly funny ones that did not run out of steam in their later days and kudos to the scriptwriters for making 2&1/2 Men belong plushly in that elite league! I must say I am not pleased with the damage that this 'introductory price' may wreak on your wallet, but that's a minor quibble for a DVD you know you're going to be watching more than once.
Germany has 2nd season out on DVD!.......2007-05-19
I don't understand y the USA hasn't gotten this on dvd, season 2 has been released here in Germany!! See a pic of the cover above. The show is called "Mein cooler onkel Charlie" in Germany!!

A U.S. soldier is dead, and military lawyers Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee and Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway want to know who killed him. "You want the truth?" snaps Colonel Jessup (Jack Nicholson). "You can't handle the truth!" Astonishingly, Jack Nicholson's legendary performance as a military tough guy in A Few Good Men really amounts to a glorified cameo: he's only in a few scenes. But they're killer scenes, and the film has much more to offer. Tom Cruise (Kaffee) shines as a lazy lawyer who rises to the occasion, and Demi Moore (Galloway) gives a command performance. Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, J.T. Walsh, and Cuba Gooding Jr. (of Jerry Maguire fame) round out the superb cast. Director Rob Reiner poses important questions about the rights of the powerful and the responsibilities of those just following orders in this classic courtroom drama. --Alan Smithee
Customer Reviews:
Loved this Movie, but Have a Question.......2007-07-22
I have seen this remarkably acted movie several times. Today I watched it again. It seems each time I do I learn new things.
My question is if Dawson and Downey did as they were ordered why did they get a dishonorable discharge? I mean Dawson kept saying over and over that it was the right thing to do to follow a direct order and then at the end he tells Downey that they got it because they are there to protect others and they didn't.
A Few Good Men.......2007-07-13
Every time this movie shows up on T.V. we watch it but have to deal with the commercials. It is a must for every movie library and appropriate for older kids. (Little ones would be bored.) The acting and casting is amazing with a strong story line.
A Few Good Men.......2007-07-11
This engrossing military-legal thriller from director Rob Reiner soars thanks to Aaron Sorkin's gripping, expertly paced script (based on his hit Broadway play) and a brawny, high-wattage cast: Cruise and Moore make a winning pair of legal eagles, Bacon is commanding as Kaffee's courtroom nemesis, and Jack Nicholson delivers one of his most indelible performances as arrogant, tough-as-nails Col. Nathan Jessup, who may or may not know more than he claims. Dealing with illegal hazing, government cover-ups, and the outer limits of military honor, "Men" packs a double-barreled wallop. Can you handle the truth?
..."YOU WANT ME ON THAT WALL....YOU....NEED....ME ON THAT WALL"..........2007-05-07
....Darn good movie [DVD]...Sorkin's screen/play defines the spartan USMC discipline to perfection...for instance, when Jack Nicholson [he overshadows the entire cast of this film] berates all the non/combatant Navy JAG/attorneys trying to bring his illustrious Marine career to an abrupt end is spell/binding and cuts right to the bone [an immense scene of impact]...his bombastic and clarion call to what a Fleet Marine Force Marine [FMF] is all about is so true to all the unsuspecting civilians taking life for granted, etc...his sneering but simple, "Thank You" is all he expects...."and be on your way, my man" is totally real...99% of the American people don't know the instantanious, and grating/lethal feeling... I'm about to die!!....pooof, dead!!...no more mama-no more papa...no more nothing!!...is what Fleet Marines go through in combat operations 24/7 by closing with America's enemies, etc...Nicholson tries his darndest to bring this sailent point home with alacrity, "You Want Me On That Wall..You...NEED... Me On That Wall!!!"...he's right on, folks.....give the devil his due...as for the final fadeout, Nicholson's character gets his just reward of due process of the Military Code of Justice...but, I say again...Nicholson's portrayal as a FMF Marine Colonel is colossal by the fact, how the United States Marine Marine Corps' commitment to duty, honor and country allows all Americans to go about their daily rush of life in peace and at days end, sleep the good sleep while the USMC guards the ramparts like no other, since 1775...a very good cast begets a great show!!....Semper Fidelis...SSGT CHRIS SARNO-USMC FMF
memorable.......2007-03-15
This movie is very good, especially for it's memorable moments in the end. It is a nice window into the lives of our military people and how honor and obediance play into their lives.

Tin Men, the second in Barry Levinson's ongoing film series about his native Baltimore in the 1950s and '60s, focuses on a pair of competing aluminum-siding salesman at a point when the industry was loaded with scam artists. Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito play rivals who get involved in a fender-bender that quickly escalates from a minor argument into an all-out war, as they begin pulling practical jokes on each other. Dreyfuss takes it too far, however, when he sets out to seduce DeVito's unhappy wife (Barbara Hershey) and winds up falling in love with her. Much of the humor here comes from Levinson's keen ear as writer and director for the way these people talk--and what they talk about (like the discussion of why four men are living together without women on the Ponderosa in Bonanza). Beside the leads, the cast includes a great host of character actors, including Jackie Gayle, Bruno Kirby, John Mahoney, and J.T. Walsh. Others in Levinson's body of Baltimore films are Diner, Avalon, and the most recent, Liberty Heights. --Marshall Fine
Description
Cruise back to Baltimore 1963, to the time and turf of a rare American breed: the "tin man" (aluminum siding salesman). Two less-than-honest rivals in the tin game (Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito) meet in a fender bender, but their bruised egos and quick tempers turn the minor accident into a major vendetta against each other's symbols of success -- their prized Cadillacs. In what would seem to be a coup de grace, Dreyfuss decides to seduce DeVito's neglected wife (Barbara Hershey), but this romantic maneuver causes nonstop twists and turns to both the heart and the funnybone. With a supporting cast that's absolutely classic and music by The Fine Young Cannibals, TIN MEN sounds as good as it looks!
Customer Reviews:
Tin Men.......2007-07-10
Levinson's second homage to his hometown of Baltimore (after the superb "Diner") is a vivid, side-splitting movie with terrific star turns and ensemble playing. Both Dreyfuss and DeVito go to town as stylistic opposites and natural adversaries, with John Mahoney, Seymour Cassel, and Bruno Kirby (among others) lending priceless support as fellow tin men on both sides of the conflict. Only Barbara Hershey feels miscast as Ernest's fed-up spouse, but fine actress that she is, she makes the best of it. A winning comedy with plenty of soul and heart, "Tin Men" is pure gold.
Tin Men.......2007-02-10
What a great film! It captures the spirit of Baltimore in that era perfectly.
Hilarious.......2006-09-08
If this is not one of the most underrated comedies, I don't know what is. Asides from being a comedy, Tin Men is expertly effective in capturing the ups and downs as well as the tension of being a salesman/con artist. The movie also does a beautiful job in capturing the Baltimor of the 1960's with the lingo, the clothes, and the scenery. Danny DeVito and Richard Dreyfuss play the roles of two aluminum siding salesmen from rival companies. A car accident between the two open's the door to an array of hilarious maladies between the two - from busting up each other's cars to BB (Dreyfuss) sleeping with Tielly's (DeVito) wife. The storyline is great, the actors are excellent, and the movie overall is flawless. I must have watched the DVD over ten times by now!
Baltimore, 1963 - so many Cadillac fins! .......2006-02-11
Tin Men is a gem. If you have ever been a sales person or been around them, especially door-to-door sales, you may recognize these characters. Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito are Tin Men - that is aluminum siding salesmen who end up competing against each other for more than sales. They are hilarious anyway but together and with this script, VERY funny. This is a time capsule of the old-time salesman with the constant patter full of jokes and flattery, the consumer cons and sunny attitude toward a new day full of prospects. The "intellectual" discussion amongst the salesmen over Senor Wences and over the realism of Bonanza are priceless. Of note is one of the all-too-few appearances by J. T. Walsh as their sales manager. There is an additional audio track on this dvd with Levinson, Hershey, Cassel, Dreyfuss, Kirby, etc. discussing the making of the film. With at least four of his films taking place in Baltimore, I wonder if Levinson and John Waters have ever met?
An Enduring Classis.......2005-09-30
We found Tin Men to be visually lush with beautifully photographed Cadillac fins, subtly amusing dialogue, and scenes that flowed naturally. It could be viewed just to hear the music, which was wonderful. The interesting story line even had "heart" without being maudlin. It will always be one of our favourites.

Book of Love delivers humor along with the mysteries of unrequited love and relationships gone bad. The film's story line focuses on main characters Jay, Will and Ben -- three men living, dating and loving in Los Angeles in the 90's -- who struggle with heartbreak and insecurity as a result of failed relationships. The three characters' stories unfold through sessions with their therapist - sessions that are often as comedic as they are insightful. Book of Love features an all-star ensemble cast including Robin Givens (Head of State and Boomerang), Richard T. Jones (The Wood and Twisted), Salli Richardson Whitfield (Antwone Fisher and Biker Boyz), Mari Morrow (National Security and How To Be A Player), and Loretta Devine (Crash and Women Thou Art Loosed).

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Couldnt wait to buy it!.......2007-07-21
This movie is filled with laughter love and very attractive men and women! After I watched the premier of this movie on BET I called all around for months to find it! I cant explain how much I loved this movie! I recommend this movie to anyone who loves to watch a good touching comedy. It will make your cry, laugh and smile from beginning to end :)
OK Rainy Day Movie.......2007-03-23
This is an OK Rainy Afternoon Movie, its obvious why it was straight to video, although you have some well known actors involved. If cussing makes you uncomfortable this movie may not be for you, and if questionable content (i.e. adultry, STD's, etc) is offensive, you may want to skip this movie. It was all in all an ok movie, but a little heavy on the female bashing, men may like that after all they generally are on the receiving end of the bashing. But if all of the above doesn't bother you, you may want to check it out if you are having a Saturday at the movie kind of day.
Great for gathering other people thoughts.......2007-01-24
This movie is good for a younger crowd and quite educational for the very nieve person. It gives you a chance to view other people thoughts; I even enjoyed viewing the movie and talking about issues that occur with every day life with my foster children. They are over 18, but very inexperienced, I am glad I made this purchase.
Why?.......2007-01-11
I am personally tired of all the "Women are wonderful, Men are horrible" rhetoric, sheist. This movie is a complete waste of time, and plastic used to make the DVD. Ask an honest question. If men are dogs, what are you calling his parents, in particular, his mother?
I'undi.
This movie sucks.......2007-01-05
This movie sucks. Trench looked good in it but it sucks. I could have done something better with my time.

This is one of the best parodies of the '40s hardboiled detective genre, with a very clever conceit: weaving the plot and production design around memorable movie clips (The Killers, The Big Sleep, Double Indemnity, The Lost Weekend, White Heat, This Gun for Hire, Sorry, Wrong Number, Notorious). Steve Martin plays the cool Rigby Reardon, who tries solving an incomprehensible mystery with the assistance of Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Burt Lancaster, Fred MacMurray, Ingrid Bergman, and Ray Milland, among others. It's all silly hokum with Rachel Ward as the pretty moll and director-cowriter Carl Reiner as the nefarious villain. Miklos Rozsa takes us back to yesteryear with his lush score, and, fittingly, Edith Head handles the period costumes in her final production. --Bill Desowitz
Customer Reviews:
Something Funny Happened in the Editing Room!.......2007-08-23
When I first saw this movie, I thought it was so clever and hilarious. It has many recognizable film noir moments in it. It's a classicly funny story and Steve Martin is great.
Editing, writing & directing.......2007-08-08
This is such a fun film as well as a work of art. I am old enough to remember the original films "cut" in and still able to totally enjoy this film. How Edith Head (her last movie) was able to replicate the clothing, accessories and total mood is truly Acadmy Award winning material and kudos to writing, directing and set design. Worthy of inclusion in any collectors library.

Brilliance.......2007-06-14
Steve Martin and Carl Reiner sat through hundreds of hours of classic films to find the footage they needed to splice in to "their" movie. The results were pure genius.
The editing and set designs were so flawless that it actually appears as though Steve Martin was starring in a film with the likes of Alan Ladd, Humphrey Bogart, Vincent Price, James Cagney, Veronica Lake, Joan Crawford, the list goes on and on.
The premise and plot are wacky, but it doesn't matter. This movie is so refreshing that you are able to overlook the rediculous plan of the major villain and the outlandishness of the situations that Martin constantly finds himself in (in one scene, he pours coffee grinds into a pot for two minutes and eight seconds!).
Martin geniously portrays a street-savvy, deadpan, hard-boiled private eye and still manages to make you laugh hysterically while maintaiing his straight-line, tough-guy persona . How he didn't crack himself up while filming these scenes is beyond me.
The film itself is very enjoyable, but it's also fun to try and pick out the scenes from the "classic" films and try to idenify who the actors are and what films the scenes were taken from.
If you don't want to buy the DVD, please, by all means, RENT it! This movie will please comedy fans, Steve Martin fans, and real movie buffs.
Steve Martin (in voice-over): "The one thing I liked about Jimmie-Sue was the fact that the words 'I can't' weren't in her vocabulary. (to Veronica Lake) Hi, Jimmie-Sue. I need you to do something for me.
Veronica Lake: "I can't."
Steve Martin (in voice-over): "Well, I guess she'd added them since the last time I'd seen her."
A simple plot with sublime execution.......2007-05-19
Steve Martin stars in this satire of 1940's film noir detective stories. The plot is simple, but the execution is sublime. Steve Martin's character is hired by a beautiful and mysterious woman who thinks that the death of her famous scientist father was no accident, despite what the police and newspapers are reporting. The movie is filmed in black & white and employs creative editing to splice in scenes of the great actors of the Golden Age: James Cagney, Veronica Lake, Burt Lancaster, Humphrey Bogart, Charles Laughton, Joan Crawford, Lana Turner, Barbara Stanwyck, Betty Davis and more.
The action teeters between melodramatic and pure slapstick, with sharp dialog. The photography is stunning, and I remember being amazed at the glow in the actors eyes', even with black & white film. Costuming was done by Edith Head, the winner of more Oscars than any other woman. Head was the perfect choice to match the modern actors costumes to those in the classic film footage.
Overlooked Martin.......2007-04-28
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (DMDWP) is probably Steve Martin's most overlooked film. Coming at the time when Steve was still "Wild & Crazy", many were turned off by this movie. But this is actually one of his best. The seemless interplay between Martin and the great actors/actresses from the 30's and 40's is genius. Filmed in black & white, Martin plays a gumshoe detective. Rachel Ward plays the love interest. Filmed before computers allowed you to insert anything into a scene, the editing must have been a nightmare. But the end result is worth it. The comedy is dark and satirical. It is Martin's tribute to the great detective and murder mystery films of Hollywood's golden years. Best way to view this film; Wait till it's nighttime, stormy and have a large popcorn. This film is simply great entertainment.

WE CAN'T HELP ITWE'RE MEN!
A lot's been written about the differences between men and women. In fact, way too much. That's why I've decided to tackle the subject on video. With help from the men of Possum Lodge (and also from my nephew Harold), I'd like to lead us to a better understanding between the various sexes. Remember, we're all in the same boat, and women are on the shore, laughing.

GREAT GP SIDE-SPLITTING COMEDY!.......2007-05-17
This is the absolute BEST comedy show we, as a family have ever seen! Our 6 and 7 year olds love it,too. We initially saw it on the PBS network late at night, and could not believe that we had NOT seen it durring the origional airing of the show! It is simply the best ever--we can hardly wait to see the rest. Steve Smith, and the rest of the "gang" are super.

Writer-director Ron Shelton's 1992 follow-up to the baseball comedy-drama Bull Durham involves a different sport: basketball, as played on the neighborhood hustler circuit. Woody Harrelson is Billy Hoyle, a good shooter using his white complexion to fool black players into thinking he can be stomped in easy bets. Billy's banter-filled matchup against Sidney Deane (Wesley Snipes) on a public court leads to a partnership in which Sidney becomes Billy's manager, taking the white outsider on a tour of the tougher sections of Los Angeles, where he plays homeboys for a few bucks. Inevitably, the two come apart over their innate competitiveness, a situation that has to be reevaluated after Billy gets into trouble with some underworld creditors. Meanwhile, Billy's girlfriend (Rosie Perez) sits at home preparing herself for a maybe-someday date appearance on Jeopardy. As with all of Shelton's sports-related movies (Tin Cup, his script for The Best of Times), White Men Can't Jump is less about the fine points of the game than it is the rules by which players survive it. The script is literate and crackling with wit and satire (a scene in which a politician sponsors a black-white "solidarity" game is hilarious). The actors are entirely in sync, and the scenes under and around the hoops are a thrill to watch. --Tom Keogh

A very funny movie.......2007-07-24
Woody Harrelson of "Cheers" fame teams up with funnyman Wesley Snipes in a basketball themed movie where the two con their way around LA's basketball courts to earn a living.
My favorite part of the movie is when Billy Hoyle's (Harrelson) girlfriend Gloria Clemente (Rosie Perez) appears as a contestant on the hit quiz show "Jeopardy!" and wins $14,000 thanks to categories she had been studying during the first couple scenes of the movie.
This movie will surely get you laughing when you watch it. I highly recommend it.
White Man CAN Jump.......2006-07-02
I've always enjoyed Ron Shelton's films - well written and directed, and this film features Woody and Wesley in full flow. They make such an ideal couple they did Money Train right after this. But give the script and directing credit. This is a simple but well acted and crafted film. The chemistry is great. I enjoyed watching it again. Feels as fresh as it did the first time...
Now that's how you make a film.......2005-10-27
This film has got to be one of the best I've ever seen. Right from the beginning when Billy and Sydney are first introduced to each other it is undeniably pure genius. It has many different elements to it all brilliantly done comedy, drama, romance and of course the best of them all - basketball. I love hearing the trash talking out on the courts.
if goria didn't want da $$$$ y did she leave billy in da 1st place.......2005-08-25
this was a good movie goria was very spoiled and took advantage of billy "woody harrison" he was hustling all day 2 put food on da table and when he comes home his girlfriend says how much $ did u make instead of i miss u she left him at least 3 times n da movie and when she comes back it is for money after billy and snidy win some $ from da basketball contests i would have given this money a higher score if goria would have understand goria because she took things 2 far i no she was kind of smart of winning da game show on jeopardy but she still of have there until the end of da movie Joe Brown
black and white is better than sugar and ice.......2005-08-25
wes snipes "snidy" and woody harrison "billy" 2 good actors made comedy history by putting on 1 of da better comedy films of 1992 everything these two did was perfect this movie was both seious and funny but more funny it was full with cool basketball moves but da movie was focused on woody harrision not being able to dunk a basketball which was funny because toward da middle of da movie he tried many times 2 dunk a ball while wesely kept on teasing him rosey peruz was good as billy's girlfriend soon 2 b wife i could fill if she would have stay with him a little while longer this movie would have been better because they been through a lot 2gether n da movie running from husters, moving from place to place n a matter of days, 2 rosy peruz "goria" winnning da jeopardy game she forgave woody if she loved him she would have stayed and never gave up on him but other than that this was 1 of woody and wes snipes best movies together n da 90s they made 3 movies together

Steve Martin's funniest three films, The Jerk, The Lonely Guy, and Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, are collected in the Wild and Crazy Comedy Collection with some corny bonus material that pales in comparison to Martin's stunning comedic performances. In The Lonely Guy, Martin's dejected character wanders New York streets with his fern plant searching for a lady to love. Scenes in which Martin calls his lady from his rooftop amidst scores of other lonely guys, or jogs into a diner wearing fake, spray-on sweat, seem more slapstick with each viewing. Martin's masterpiece is The Jerk, about Navin Johnson, a white guy born a "poor black child," who sets out for the city to become somebody. Navin, with hobo rucksack in tow, takes his dad's three rules--Don't trust whitey, Lord loves a workin' man, and See a doctor and get rid of it--to an extreme, after becoming a millionaire from inventing a reading glasses apparatus. Co-starring Bernadette Peters, The Jerk's bizarre humor still feels fresh in its satirical examination of race and class. Watching Navin change from a poor black child, to a gas station attendant, to a millionaire, to a drunken egomaniac, to a homeless bum, illustrates Martin's sheer talent for character sketching. If this Wild and Crazy Comedy Collection is a cake, The Jerk is definitely the icing. --Trinie Dalton

A U.S. soldier is dead, and military lawyers Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee and Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway want to know who killed him.
