Jonathan Kaplan (The Accused) directed this creepy thriller about an outwardly friendly cop (Ray Liotta) who attaches himself to a married couple (Kurt Russell, Madeleine Stowe) whom he helps during a crisis. In short order, he's revealed to be a psychopath who wants Russell's wife, but the film is about more than Liotta's mental state. A bold script and Kaplan's astute direction peel away the layers of masculine identity in the male leads and underscore the painful conflicts good men feel when faced with classic territorial challenges. This is not as profound as Straw Dogs, but it is honest and provocative, until mayhem overcomes the final act. --Tom Keogh

Suspense at its best........2007-02-08
I looked everywhere for this movie its one of those movies I can watch and watch over and over and its just as exciting as the first time I watched it.
about the movie unlawful entry..............2006-06-18
I borrowed the copy of unlawful entry which was bought from Amzon.com by David S Caleb. I watched and later found amazon.com to run out of stock and went over to videoflicks to make a purchase before items sold out fast. The story is basically about a cop going to a house to fit security alarm for the family which resulted in the cop whom is mentally unstable, seduces the wife of actor Kurt Russell. This seducing action looks more real with the camerawork having 'this type' or 'black and white face' indication on it. I am not going to talk too much before it is pointless to watch. This is one of the best film/movie to watch so far and is recommended to those whom are interested in this genre of DVD film/movie. What a cop anyway...hey give me a ten men....:-)

Fantastic Film........2006-03-23
This is a great movie with excellent acting. The DVD itself does not have a lot of extras, but who cares this movie is the type that you can watch over and over even though you know what happens in the end. This DVD is a must have for anyone that loves to watch movies.
Lordy - this will freak you out........2005-11-03
This - along with Breakdown - are two of the best thrillers. This also stars Ray Liotta who is fantastic in almost everything he acts in. He is a cop who comes to Madeline Stowe and Kurt Russells house after a break in. He becomes obsessed with Madeline Stowe and weaves his way into their lives. When Kurt gets the picture of what is going on, there is almost nothing he can do, because with Ray being a cop, it can be hard to prove that he's a bad guy. How can you report this guy to the police? What do you do when there's almost nothing else to do? This is a great movie and any thriller fan has got to see this. It's soooooooo good.
Thou shall not steal..........2005-10-10
The formula isn't knew but when it's well done it still works. Such is the case of "Unlawful Entry", an interesting and compelling thriller which isn't the best in its genre but it doesn't disappoint either. Michael Carr (Kurt Russell) is in the nightclub development business and is that kind of person who's used to get everything he desires, easily. That's the way he perhaps got his wife, Karen (Madeleine Stowe), who used to work as a waitress in one of Michael's previous clubs and now teaches young kids.
Everything was going just nice until one day their house is broken into and the cops who came for the aftermath should never have come there in the first place, for the sake of this young couple. Ray Liotta is perfect for the role of a deranged cop who is obsessed with something's he shouldn't long for. And Russell does a good job of being the man in the middle. Stowe is hot as hell in this movie which perhaps helps the viewer understand Liotta's point of view.
The protector turned predator is, like I said before, nothing new on the screen but Liotta can take it to the next level. There are hints of "Fatal Atraction" and "Cape Fear" sprinkled throughout and I mean that as a compliment, not a complaint. "Unlawful Entry" is entertaining, not overlong and I had the feeling of time well spent when I got to the end of it. Just don't expect many twists, turns and surprises, alright?

Description
Commando action...at 30,000 feet. Kurt Russell leads a star-packed ensemble of Executive Decision (Side A) when elite operatives slip aboard a hijacked 747 in mid-air. The mission: Find and defuse a nerve-toxin bomb destined for the U.S., then rescue the passengers. Halle Berry, Steven Seagal and more join Russell for high excitement directed by Stuart Baird (U.S. Marshals). Russell is firmly on the ground yet surrounded by danger when he plays suburbanite Michael Carr in Unlawful Entry (Side B), a thriller that taps into fears about criminals hiding behind badges. Ray Liotta plays a cop who insinuates himself into the lives of Carr and his attractive wife (Madeleine Stowe), and director Jonathan Kaplan (The Accused) ramps up the tension as protector turns predator, imperiling those he's sworn to defend. Powerful suspense!
