Corporate Ghost finds Sonic Youth embracing the music-video format in a big and exciting way with the 1990 release of their hit album, Goo. The band produced a video for each of Goo's 11 tracks, and that collection forms the first half of this stylistically eclectic anthology. Sonic Youth's enthusiasm also drew significant filmmaking talent: Dave Markey (1991: The Year Punk Broke) directs the witty, histrionic "Mildred Pierce," which looks like a 1940s experimental biography of Joan Crawford. Far from Heaven's Todd Haynes makes a fascinating fever dream of "Disappearer," telegraphing angst about the difference between public and private identity. Tamra Davis (Guncrazy) delivers both the MTV-accessible "Dirty Boots" as well as the deliriously sexy "Kool Thing." Later videos include the fashion show trappings of "Sugar Kane," the mesmerizing duet between bassist-singer Kim Gordon and guest Kim Deal on "Little Trouble Girl," and a grabby, time-manipulated video for "Sunday" by Harmony Korine (Gummo). --Tom Keogh

Customer Reviews:
Not what you might be expecting.......2006-02-15
I consider myself to be a pretty huge Sonic Youth fan. I've followed the band's work for years and seen them live a number of times. This collection of videos is pretty underwhelming considering the genius and importance of the band's music. The biggest problem is that these videos come from Sonic Youth's early 90's commercial period, which wasn't something I figured out until I had the DVD home. There are no videos from Daydream Nation or any of preceding albums, which includes most of Sonic Youth's best work.
Aside from the music not really being SY's best, some of the videos are downright embarassing, especially the hits from Goo and Dirty. They usually revolve around skateboard punks and stereotypical alternative kids from the early 90's, so they're dated as hell and a bit difficult to watch. I was especially disappointed with the videos from Murray Street, which was an exceptional album. The video for "The Empty Page" is just a collage of tour footage thrown together with footage of Moore lip synching in front of the mirror. "Disconnection Notice" is even worse, featuring teenaged kids arguing about something in a car. Couldn't they have found some better actors? It's worse than watching Degrassi.
If youre a big fan of mid-90's SY, this collection is probably for you. If you're a fan of their early material, you might want to save your money for the upcoming independent videography that's advertised on the back of this DVD.
Corporate Ghost Disappoints.......2005-12-31
Sonic Youth has never been a visually oriented group, and this collection of videos is a testament to that fact. As songwriters and musical artists, their craft is daring, original, and groundbreaking. It's a shame that the video images are not on par with the music.
Beginning with the entirety of the album Goo and carrying through Murray Street, the videos are mostly comprised of teenagers making out, skateboarding punks, and bandmembers lipsynching their way through the material. It is decidedly middle of the road typical MTV material. The single most disturbing video is Sunday, which features gratuitous close ups of Macaulay Culkin(!) making out with a girl in slow motion. Surely a frightening image to anyone whose name isn't Michael Jackson.
Had this dvd come from a lesser band I wouldn't have been so disappointed, but with Sonic Youth I expect at least originality, if not always greatness. As the title suggests, this product is a collection of corporate marketing, with little room left for artistry.
sonic youth makes my sense of integrity hurt.......2005-11-16
sonic youth.........where to start...how about nowhere..that seems fitting...i just wrote a huge blog after watching 1991:the year punk broke for the first time in years, and i really dont feel like repeating.
so basically, anybody thats gonna buy this thing is gonna be a s.y. fan anyway so whatever i say won't matter, but.....
sonic youth , and thurston moore in general, suck. a lot. i've never seen someone try so hard to use as many "big" words in a sentance so hard in my life. and the band as a whole seems to follow just about every underground indie trend that comes along ( if you happen to disagree, *please* go listen to your grunge obsessed copy of dirty, look at the flannel covered back sleeve, and feel that butch vig post-nevermind production)
sonic is the biggest example of "hey, i'm cool, right???" i've ever seen..if you're gonna get all nostalgic about the late eighties/early nineties, go listen to dinosaur jr. it'll make you feel good
A great music video DVD from a great band........2005-02-08
I very much love the music of Sonic Youth so I decided to go ahead and buy this video collection. Although I had no idea what to expect, I must say that I am very happy with what I got. Audio and video quality is as good as you can expect, especially since the videos come from such a wide rage of mediums ranging from low budget video to high quality film. Special features are great also, especially the videos directed by the fans and "My Sonic Room" where a fan paints the cover of the album Goo on her wall.
1. Dirty Boots- The band plays a concert while fans mingle with each other.
2. Tunic (Song For Karen)-Has a public access production value feel to it and it reminds me of David Lynch's Eraserhead. Includes hidden images of Karen Carpenter.
3. Mary-Christ-Mostly close ups of the band mixed with live footage, looks like it was shot with night vision cameras.
4. Kool Thing- Has Singer Kim Gordon holding a black cat while the band plays in a tin foil decorated room.
5. Mote- A mix of the band playing, footage of the film Koyaanisqatsi, and graphic dismemberment footage.
6. My Friend Goo- My least favorite on the disk, a homemade video with singer Kim Gordon in a pink cat suit singing along with a record.
7. Disappearer- The band goes on a strange road trip.
8. Mildred Pierce- Has the band in various locations around Hollywood and Sofia Coppola, director of Lost in Translation, plays Joan Crawford.
9. Cinderella's Big Score- an video about Kim Gordon's relationship to her brother is my interpretation.
10. Scooter And Jinx- Two female strippers star in this video, one poses naked while the other takes pictures.
11. Titanium Expose- Like a non linear short film, memorable for seeing singers Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore making out with each other.
12. 100%- The band plays a house party while footage of skateboarders is cut in.
13. Sugar Kane- Like a grunge fashion show video.
14. Youth Against Fascism- Just a collage of the band playing, motorcyclists, and other stuff.
15. Bull In The Heather- Features Kathleen Hanna from Bikini Kill acting obnoxious.
16. Superstar- a loving tribute to Karen Carpenter, the band is dressed up quite formally on a glitzy stage.
17. Little Trouble Girl- a slick looking video with a sci-fi edge, Kim Deal from the Pixies and the Breeders appears also.
18. The Diamond Sea- Footage from the band on the road.
19. Sunday- Stars Macaulay Culkin and some ballerinas.
20. Hoarfrost- Mostly footage of someone driving around at wintertime.
21. Nevermind (What Was It Anyway)- Has a bunch of people hanging out while Kim Gordon is singing on a laptop computer.
22. The Empty Page- More footage from the band touring.
23. Disconnection Notice- A short film featuring four young adults arguing with each other in a car.
A must have for any Sonic Youth fan........2004-10-29
There are two ways to look at this video collection. If you're a sonic youth fan and if you're not.
number 1 is not a sonic youth fan
number 2 is a sonic youth fan
1. The videos are often low budget and show it. The footage is raw and intimate. This is not the kind of stuff you see on MTV- no fancy high budget videos whose production costs could feed 500 musicians for their intire lifetime.
2. Let's face it. Sonic Youth is one of the best and most influential bands of the last 20 years. They still tour and rock better than ever. This DVD is a reflection of the band and everything that makes them great. The videos on this DVD, while not essential to every single living breathing human, make a wonderful collection that lets the viewer to become truly more intimate with the band. If you have even a passing interest in anything relating to "alternative music" or "indie-rock" this is a DVD you should alteast go watch at one of your (much cooler) friend's houses. If you are a Sonic Youth fan this is a total no brainer, it's essential, buy it now.

The Ghost Ships of Truk Lagoon - Operation Hailstone.......2007-07-12
Since it's so hard to find anything (video) on this subject, it starts earning points junt for being made. On top of that, it turns to be very interesting, complete and fun to watch. I recommend it.

this film was of perticuler intrest to me as i was a cinama projectshionist. and i had the first southampton prcentachion of it. i found it still very enjoyable evan after all thes years. glad to own it.
Enjoyable Teutonic Gothic........2006-02-17
It is fortuitous that this film has at last reached the light of day again, (via DVD) since it provides a welcome reminder of the type of Saturday matinée "scary" fare 1960s parents could safely drop the youngsters off to see--in some ways similar to 1962's "The Magic Sword."
Boasting a very "Siegfried" style hero in Lex Barker, a particularly comely brunette heroine, and Christopher Lee at his most cadaverously malevolent, horror fans should not be disappointed in the regulation personalities. Nor will they be disappointed in the abundance of Gothic contrivances: snakes, skulls, potions, glass coffins, razor pendulums etc. etc. And to those with questions about the logic of the narrative, don't bother with them--the rapid fire pacing won't wait for you to find an answer anyway--if nothing else this film does move!
Ultimately, however, it is in the visuals that this film most impresses. Production design and color are of a very high order indeed, ranking very favorably against Jack Asher and Mario Bava, and it is impossible to believe that the previous work of these two gentlemen is not deliberately evoked here.
Much could be observed in this connection, but suffice it to say that rarely has a nocturnal forest been presented more balefully, with gnarled trees juxtaposed against an ultramarine sky.
Even more in its favor is the effective use of a medieval Bavarian town, whose quaint architecture seems right out of E.T.A. Hoffmann. Here is an example of location shooting that counts for something! Overall, although the credits credit Edgar Allan Poe as the basis of the story, the piece feels altogether more like a "penny-dreadful" hybrid pastiche of the aforementioned Hoffmann and Ludwig Tieck.
Highly recommended for admirers of the genre.
Great Movie-- HORRIBLE QUALITY DVD!.......2005-07-02
What a great horror film. I was very annoyed at the TERRIBLE QUALITY of this transfer to DVD. Find the VHS version-- far better picture and sound. The video version better than the DVD? What a shame...
This DVD version is EDITED...too bad........2004-02-10
I too like this movie a lot. Unfortunately, this DVD edition has been sourced from an edited Tv print of the movie. Magnum Video's long OOP VHS version (under the title TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR SADISM) is about 12 minutes longer than the DVD.
Hopefully someone will put out an anamorphic widescreen uncut version someday. Until then, track down the Magnum tape and avoid this DVD. The picture quality on the DVD isn't great anyway.
INCREDIBLE MOVIE! DRIPPING WITH ATMOSPHERE!!!.......2004-01-17
This is an incredibly atmospheric horror movie...the forest coach ride to Regula's ruined castle is like a nightmare. Chrisptopher Lee is AWESOME, and his henchman is even creepier, if that's possible!! Turn off the lights and watch this late at night! I've heard of this movie for years, but never had the chance to see it....and now that I have, I was really surprised at how good it is!! A must-see for all horror fans!!

This is a true review........2006-06-26
This movie, judged alongside all the movies in movie history, is terrible. The directing is nonexistant, the acting is wooden and hard to watch, and scenes lack any sort of cohesive flow. Also, the writing is beyond bad. Also, the movie has several onscreen mistakes e.g. A flag with 50 stars in a western, an A/C unit, guns with no recoil.
However, this movie is so bad, it is funny to watch. Roll with laughter as you try and follow the unbelievable "story." Slap your knee when you see the karate-infused fights. Belly-laught when Busey shoots a bartender and then screams, "FEELS GOOD TO KILL!" Just watching Busey smile is a credit to the film. So, I would recommend this movie, because for $3.45, you won't find a better "comedy."
My Review.......2006-06-11
I have watched this movie many times and i have the dvd, and its pretty good. I got it because I go to Tucson every summer on vacation from Florida and always go to the Old Tucson Studios.
I know it was kinda filmed on the cheap, but I enjoy it pretty much, plus last year I took my girlfriend , now everytime we have company over , we watch it and she tells them she had a drink from that same bar.
When they finished the movie, they didnt seem to go over and check the finished product. During the fight scene at the end, you can see flourescent lighting on the roofs of some of the buildings and a air conditioning condensing unit on a building rooftop.
But other than that, its not a bad movie...
what were they smokeing when they came up with this turkey!!!!!!.......2006-04-21
i can't believe that i watched this junk twice and still don't know if they made it that bad on purpose or if they thought it was good. not even so bad it's good, just BAD,BAD,BAD!!!!!!!!
i couldn't even get a second hand store to take it,or trade me anything for it. if you like kung-fu cowboy movies stick to the kung-fu series as they have released at least one if not two seasons by now. you have been warned.
HORRIBLE JUST HORRIBLE.......2005-04-17
I really felt an honest review of this movie was extremely important in order that poor innocent people not suffer the fate I endured watching this hideous movie. I sat down with an open mind, I mean I have seen some bad pornos,B movies, home videos but this one stunned me. As the movie progressed it kept getting worse and worse and just when I thought it couldnt possibly get any worse I was proven wrong. First of all the story line was totally confusing, the acting was bad....really bad, editing was bad, I even heard the director say "cut" in two scenes. After the movie all I kept thinking was how could this bad of a movie get produced. Please dont waste your time and money as I did and avoid this movie from the school of movie making hell.
Total Crap.......2005-04-17
Being a movie lover that I am this movie makes me think twice. I have never seen such bad cinematagraphy in my entire life!!! Bad..no terrible acting, horrid lighting, discumbubulated writting, I need a shrink after watching this total piece of crap to help me forget it.

this was the best movie ever i cant wait until they come out with a number 2
Highly watchable.......2006-11-10
I was very pleasently surprised with this film. The premise is that a woman that was rendered facelss is out to find a new face from hapless victims who enter her woods. For a low budget movie I thought the execution was excellent. The movie itself kept me riveted, in suspense and occassionally obscuring my vision in the scarier scenes. The acting was plausible and effective, keeping the story flowing and engrossing.
GOOD AND GROTESQUE.......2006-10-15
This really is a good movie, even if grotesque, with this crazy broad wanting to cut off the faces of pretty girls. The acting was good(defined as believable). The story is original. It would have been nice to see the ranger and the lady fly off of the 3-wheeler. The ending would have been better had either the brother or sisters' newfound love survived. I love the low budget authenticity of this movie. A four is a bit generous. I would actually give this movie a 3.5. There is never a dull moment. I will definately keep this one in the front of my collection of slasher flicks.
PUT ON A HAPPY FACE.......2006-01-23
Although the execution of this indie horror slasher is below par, its premise is unique and enough terror involved that it's passable entertainment if you're in to this sort of movie. A family camping in the wilderness hears a strange story from the park ranger about the presence of a disfigured girl who stalks the woods looking for a pretty face to replace her own, which her crazed father sliced off because she was disfigured. For once, the teens involved are a little empathic because they're just normal kids, not beer guzzling sex maniacs. There's lots of blood and gore, and even though it's hard to imagine this rather lightweight crazy woman being able to kill so many people and not get caught, if you suspend credibility, you might find it engrossing, if not gross.
scarred.......2005-12-16
I paid $1.99 TO RENT THIS MOVIE AND THAT WAS $1.98 TO MUCH. The only thing positive about this movie is that it has a neat cover. This thing had to have been made on a budget less than what I paid to rent it. The so called monster is a girl with bad acne. The plot is that a family spends the night in the woods and this girl with bad acne and a bad childhood is out to do them in. I just didn't get it.

Description
From twenty years of performance, many of them hidden from the public's eye, Ghost give you Metamorphosis: Ghost Chronicles, a DVD & CD package containing intense performances raging over two decades of Ghost.
What you will find in the nearly three hours of footage on the DVD: improvisations, one-time-only band lineups, unknown band lineups, unknown places, performances in temples, psychedelic costumes, bonfires, freak-outs and trances, the visual analog of a song from Temple Stone, footage from Terrastock, a variety of light shows and a demonstration for the oppressed people of Tibet. Over the course of the twelve performances, a total of thirty different songs are played - with a couple of extras thrown in for good measure.
The Metamorphosis package includes a CD of unreleased tracks from the previously undocumented 80s era of Ghost. Several in-studio improvisations are included, along with several live freak-outs and a pair of outtakes from the first Ghost album. Along with segments of the DVD, the CD recalls the largely unknown wild side of Ghost.
Description
Get ready for a wild ride! A sexually rapacious Asian goddess, known as the "Queen of the South Sea", possesses the body of a young female skin diver. Armed with an AK47 and an endless supply of bullets , this murderous Lady Terminator takes to the streets on a revenge filled rampage.
It's like KILL BILL - but with oodles of sex. This combination of Asian black magic and western-style shoot `em up is one of the key cult movies of the '80s. Even the jaded patrons of 42nd Street were shocked to see how the lustful Lady T dispatched her male victims!
Previously released in a cut, full screen version, this DVD restores the film to its original length and is presented in a digitally remastered widescreen 16:9 format
Customer Reviews:
An Instant Classic !!!!.......2007-05-07
This is a classic action pacted movie that should have garnered Academy consideration. Christopher J.Hart's depiction of the newest super-hero, Max Monroe, is nothing short of Oscar Worthy. You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time. Fight scenes are relentness.
Unfortuneately, due to a terrible cocaine addiction, this was Chris's final major movie role. But due to his passionate love scene in the movie, my contacts have told me he did find much work in the porn industry.
How can anyone hate this?.......2006-06-15
Wow, I'm surprised that people hate this and gave it anything less than 5 stars. We have non-stop blasting machine guns at a Terminator rip-off chick possessed by some Goddess that wants to kill the relative (a bad 80's pop singer) of some dude that made her stop her evil men killing ways (she killed the men after having sex with them of course). Pretty much, this movie rules! Best part is when a group of bonehead macho guys that look like G.I.Joe action figures come to life start cussing out Lady Terminator and attacking her with everything they got (tanks, rockets, machine guns), resulting in various explosions. The movie ends with the most profound words I've ever heard too, more profound than anything by a poet or philosopher, here they are:
"The struggles in our souls is never ending, the life of man is short and brutal, torn between good and evil, of the eternity around us, we know nothing. The stars look on. They have been here long before mankind appeared on our small planet..and will be here long after we are no more"
~ Dramatic Narrator in Lady Terminator
"I've heard of the ultimate bj...but this is too much".......2006-05-03
The grindhouse classic. Oh, you know, the type screened in wonderfully sleazy theaters in bad neighborhoods. Think Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS. Nice mental image? Alas, it's Americana lost to developers. Why must the most special of things always be the first trampled under the banner of progress? Look at Harlem today. This film is one of the last of the genre. You've heard of Lady Terminator, but never actually saw it, right? No longer do you have to risk rape or robbery to glimpse Barbara Constable's ample assets! The adrenal reward of the danger quotent may be gone. So is your excuse.
This an Indonesian picture from the dusk of the eighties. The story revolves around the authentic legend of the "South Sea Queen", who lures men to their doom. When one finally defeats her, she curses his descendants. One hundred years later, the Queen crawls up a cute anthroplogist's hooha in the form of an eel. With some strange immunity to bullets, she proceeds to kill everyone between her and the pop starlet great-granddaughter of the man who cast her into the sea. The ending left me wondering why the old man didn't just do that in the first place. But I won't spoil it ;)
Amusement abounds, not all intentional. We're treated to a burnt out shell of a helicopter that somehow remains airborne; cringe inducing bad jokes; inept overdubs; and, lest I forget, Snake's priceless mullet. Nudity. Explosions. And here's the kicker, folks. The latter two thirds of the film are a scene for scene ripoff of "The Terminator"! Even dialogue is cribbed ("Come with me if you want to live!"). Audacity at it's most grandly absurd. Pedestal worthy.
The print looks great considering the source materials. Mondo Macabro added some alternate scenes. Plus. there's a little documenatry that explains the causes of the Indonesian film boom twenty five years ago, and why it died out. Those with good taste are directed elsewhere. The rest of you, hey, you've made it this far. Take the plunge. Then track down some of Indonesian garbage cinema from the doc like "The Warrior" and "Mystics in Bali". Cheap thrills for a boring generation.
Kills brain cells.......2005-07-03
Let's quickly mention the countries most noted for filmmaking. The United States leads the way, of course, with a whole city devoted to churning out cinematic marvels. France has a long tradition of releasing thought provoking films in nearly every conceivable genre, and has recently added amazingly grim horror films to the mix. Britain occasionally throws out something interesting, as do Germany and Spain. Italy, it should go without saying, knows how to make films even though they've lost a lot of steam in the past few years. Who else? Oh, Asian cinema is really making waves here now with what seems like hundreds upon hundreds of horror titles that are completely restructuring the terror genre. Japan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong--from these places artful nightmares spring. Finally, we cannot discount the contributions from Indonesia. INDONESIA? Yep, 'tis true. In the 1980s and early 1990s, the Indonesian film biz received a boatload of government money to make a bunch of movies for export to the States and beyond. Thanks to a DVD company called Mondo Macabro, we can finally sit in our homes and enjoy the fruits of Indonesia's cinematic excursions. God help us all. Unfortunately, God is nowhere to be found.
Cue "Lady Terminator," an amazing amalgamation of action movie, Indonesian folklore, and a mountain of artery clogging cheese. Others below have performed an excellent post-mortem on this unholy terror, but I'll go ahead and throw out another summary. The film begins by introducing us to the legend of the Queen of the South Sea, a rather vituperative old biddy who spends her days lounging around the undersea palace luring young men to her bed. No mortal can satisfy her cravings, not with a snake located in a sensitive area that puts an end to these poor chaps. But one day a man arrives who does the impossible, and the Queen is furious. She curses the guy's granddaughter. The end. No, not really. We then flash forward to, well, the day when archeologist wannabe Tania Wilson (Barbara Anne Constable) is poking around a musty old library looking to finish her thesis on the Queen of the South Sea. Off she goes on a boat in search of the underwater palace, and before you can say "presto-chango," she's in a bed in the palace. The Queen possesses her body and embarks on a killing spree the likes of which would make Ahnuld blanche with horror. The massacre begins when Tania emerges from the sea and murders two young toughs, one of whom resembles in no small way Adrian Zmed.
Tania/the Queen then checks into a hotel (!), undergoes some sort of weird shaking tremor replete with flashing lights metamorphosis, and then goes out to kill even more people. Frankly, I'm at a loss to lay out a coherent narrative. The movie simply doesn't have one. We do meet an American cop by the name of Max McNeil (Christopher J. Hart) who quickly becomes wrapped up in protecting Indonesian pop star Erica (Claudia Rademaker), the granddaughter mentioned in the curse, from the wrath of the Lady Terminator. What follows is breathtaking in its audacity. Whole scenes from Cameron's "The Terminator" appear in this film, including a bar shootout, a car chase with guns blazing, the infamous eyeball scene, and the police station shootout. The latter is particularly amusing considering the poorly choreographed gunplay. Tania blows away billions of cops without reloading and, even though McNeil stands a few feet away returning fire, can't seem to hit the man with a single round. Erica's wise old granddad shows up to fire off some magical hocus pocus at the witch, but quickly dies as a result. Nothing can stop this lady, not even McNeil's hilariously pathetic American friends, one of whom sports a mullet that would kill mere mortals. I won't spoil the conclusion for you--although it's likely you won't make it that far.
"Lady Terminator" is the grand mal seizure of bad filmmaking. This is it, folks. Right here. Every aspect of this film is dumb on a metaphysical scale. Dialogue (yeah, right) assails the ears like rocks dropped from the Empire State Building. The pacing lumbers like a crippled dinosaur on tranquilizers. The dubbing is the worst I've ever heard, and the acting is stroke inducing. As for the special effects, well, a nine year old working with a tin of playdoh and some pipe cleaners could do a better job than this movie. God, I cringe just thinking about this turkey. But for some reason, I simply can't give this anything less than five stars. Why? Because it's so stupendously horrible that every other bad movie looks like an Oscar contender by comparison, and the temerity to blatantly ripoff "The Terminator" lock, stock, and barrel deserves some praise--or a swift kick to director Jalil Jackson's shins. I'm issuing a warning to you, however. DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM IF YOU DESPISE BAD MOVIES! If you're one of those people who think "Gigli" is the end all be all of wretched moviemaking, don't give this one a second thought. "Lady Terminator" is strictly for the "so bad it'll make me sterile" crowd.
Star ratings don't really apply to a film like this one anyway. "Lady Terminator" is far outside the bounds of some arbitrary ratings system. I don't really know whether I ought to thank Mondo Macabro for this DVD or place a pox upon their house. They, Mondo Macabro that is, acquit themselves from unleashing this nightmare upon the western world in part by including some interesting extras, the most important of which is a lengthy documentary about Indonesian filmmaking. This supplement explains the legend of the Queen of the South Seas; the government's attempts to finance the movie business; and includes clips from other atrocities that look worse than "Lady Terminator." Also included are trailers, alternate scenes, a director's filmography, and a gallery of stills. Step carefully here, folks.
Worth watching just so you can say you saw it........2005-01-11
An Indonesian remake of THE TERMINATOR made in 1988. That's it. That's all you need to know to turn and run from this film, but if your morbid curiosity is still peaked then you need to go ahead and watch it cause nothing I can say will be able to properly describe the pure wackiness of this overseas stinker.
Made with the production values of a Mexican game show the story is suppose to be about an unattractive broad called The Sea Goddess who's upset because no man can tame the snake that lives in her holiest of holies. Finally some guy does, so she puts a curse on the guy's great granddaughter. Fast-forward to the present day and The Sea Goddess possesses a woman deep sea diving. Once back on land she starts reenacting the story from THE TERMINATOR.
She shoots up a disco, has a car chase then rams her car into a police station and shoots every single thing that moves...a lot. Including some brutal and uncalled for machine gun fire to the groin! One unlucky fellow is shot multiple times, falls off a balcony, shot point blank for 5 seconds and then if that's not bad enough she kicks him in the round tables!
After the police station massacre she cuts out her eyeball washes it then sticks it back in. Then for the final shoot-out she drives some piece of junk rattletrap to the airport and drives around really fast while the cops, a tank and a helicopter armed with missiles shoot her car about 800 times. At one point there's even a missile just hanging on the side of the car. Finally after being hit with 20 missiles and rammed repeatedly with a tank the car gives out and the Lady Terminator jumps out and starts shooting lasers out of her eyes! What the Hell?
Then in maybe the unintentionally funniest scene ever, she shoots the helicopter with her laser vision, it exploded and then just floats there in the air burning. The blades weren't even spinning! I laughed until I snorted. Ed Wood, Jr. is a genius compared to the masterminds behind this turd.
Fair amount of extras including a documentary on Indonesian film that convinced me once and for all that I never want to watch another movie from Indonesia.

Mystery Science Theater fodder.......2007-09-03
My first thought as I began watching this was: MST3K--this film is unintentionally funny. Our whole family laughed ourselves hoarse, especially any time anyone opened his or her mouth. We enjoyed the redheaded girl especially. The only annoyance was that at the end of the movie, it abruptly turned into a Chick tract--well, annoying for me, anyway. I was watching what I supposed was a horror film, albeit a ridiculous one, and got blindsided by a turn or burn sermon, and I found that a bit deceitful. But then, I got annoyed when Stargate transformed mid-movie from what I supposed was an intelligent sci-fi film into a glorified Star Wars rip-off. At least anyone reading this review won't get blindsided.
It gets two stars for me, but that's only for the humor value. Watch it if you want to laugh, but don't expect much else.
Not bad.......2006-08-26
This is a great flick during which to do Mystery-Science-Theater-esque jokes. The plot has a few holes, and the dubbing is not the best. The premise is borrowed from Jacob's Ladder tilted with the story of most early 1980's budget horror films.
Much of the acting is a little understated *cough* robotic *cough*. Daniel Rain and Daniel Rowe seem to be the most natural, but Jeff Thomas's character seems a bit difficult to relate to as a lead.
The visuals and sounds seem fairly well-done and the atmosphere and story are fairly intruiging to fans of the genre.
The film is a little upscale of the 80's b-movies, but not quite as well-detailed as most well-circulated indy films. For $5 (the current price as of 8/26/06) it'd be worth any horror fans to pick up.

I really wanted to like this..........2006-03-14
...and I'm sure I would. If the DVD would actually play properly.
It's got great videos on it (I really bought it just so I could have "On Building"), but so far I've only been able to get it to play properly on my Powerbook. No luck in my PC, or my PS2, or my XboX. Maybe I just got a bad disc, but since I can't return it now that I've opened it, I'm not buying another copy just to see.
So, potential buyers beware, I may just be an isolated incident, but until somebody else writes a review you're taking a gamble when you order this disc.
