Arc the Lad may have started slower then most anime, but now in this 5th volume old secrets are coming back to haunt the characters.
Elk is thrown into the greatest struggle of his life as he finally confronts the man who killed his family. With the Spirit Shield destroyed there is no where to hide. Clive is lurking around very corner, ready to unleash his sinister plan. (and yes, it's sinister)
I can't recommend this show more! It's a definite must see.

Cowboys Billy Carson (Crabbe) and Fuzzy (St. John) find themselves in the middle of a local range war between cattle ranchers, led by pretty Dale Kirby, and the local homesteaders. The ranchers have been swindled by local crooked money lender Steve Kinney, who hopes the two groups will wipe each other out so that he can take control of all the land in the area. It's amazing how director Sam Newfield managed to pack so much into westerns that often lasted less than an hour - intense drama, romance, intrigue and above all side-splitting humor! This thrilling vintage western "Oath of Vengeance" has all these ingredients and more.

There are no surprises as far as the cast is concerned - Newman sticks to the time-tested duo of ruggedly handsome Buster Crabbe and raucous Al ` Fuzzy' St. John as the good guys and balances it wonderfully well with Jack Ingram and Charles King playing the bad guys. Predictably the good guys win, but not without the customary plotting, mud slinging, fist cuffing, bad-mouthing and gun slinging. Perhaps what has been used sparingly in this episode is romance, with audiences being treated to a mere hint of amorous sentiments towards the end.

The story is about bad guy Steve Kinney, who wants the entire valley to himself and sets out to achieve this by pitting the farmers against the ranchers. Naturally, good guy Billy Carson doesn't quite like this idea and sets out to square things up. When the smoke clears, we have the farmers and ranchers rejoicing and hailing Billy as a hero. Even the pretty Dale Kirby's heart melts, but its too late - the peacemaker has decided to move on!

Experience this thrilling vintage western from the mid `40s, which will have you on pins and needles one moment and holding your sides with uncontrolled laughter in the next!

Nice Classic Western.......2006-07-25

This is a very old school genre western and it works, mostly because Buster Crabbe was basically born to play these roles. It's a classic story - bad men try to turn people against each other so they can steal their land. Of course a hero in a white hat rides into town and with the power of his six gun manages to make peace with the town people and at the same time drive out the bad guys. If you like this type of western this is one of the most well done ones you will find.

Classic Buster Crabbe Feature.......2006-05-23

Buster Crabbe was the main hero of the Wild West for about a decade and films like t his explain and demonstrate exactly why. He's a rugged imposing figure with a six gun, always fighting on the r ight side of the moral dilema. In this case it's a classic land grab where the bad guys try to force people out of their homes and he comes to the rescue. It has been restored well without some of the glitches that I've seen in many older films on television. That sound is also good.
