    Description

starring Colonel Tim McCoy (1939) When Blackthorn underbids Bill Carson (McCoy), Bill suspects that the bad guy can only be rustling cattle at that price. He poses as a Mexican and infiltrates the gang, but his identity is soon revealed and he's in real trouble. Tex Ralph's Westerns #42 B-Westerns strongly evoked traditional American values - honesty, courage, hard work, fair play, and that a good little man can always kick the butt of a bad big man. In the darkness of the theater and afterwards, out in the Saturday afternoon sunlight playing cowboys and Indians, long before political correctness changed the name of our favorite boyhood game, we knew we were right and lived in the greatest land of all... because Gene and Roy and Hoppy and all our other heroes said so and showed us how to live a good moral life by riding hard, drawing fast, and never, EVER stealing a horse or rustling a cow. "Tex Ralph's Westerns" is a weekly TV show on cable channel 20, URTV, in Asheville, North Carolina. Author Ralph Roberts chooses exciting B-Westerns and hosts each episode. Currently there are 53 movies in this series, all available on DVD.

    5 out of 5 stars Cattle Rustlers.......2006-05-19

I'll admit that I'm a sucker for the old classic westerns and t his one is no exception. In t his case it's cattle rustling that drives the plot and brings the guns out so the White Hats and blow away The Black Hats, but overall it's just a great example of a fun, old school, studio western - without all of the editing you get when they show these films on television. I was very impressed by the quality of the disk and the video transfer.

adventures....some of the best B-Westerns ever to grace the Saturday Matinee
Screen......the Native Americans had no better ambassador than Tim McCoy, a
former Indian language translator in real life...as Tim McCoy speaks
passionately about this country's longtime abuse of its native population by
breaking treaty after treaty...just remember double thrills, chills, mystery and
suspense...hitting the bull's eye with excitement...don't miss any of the Tim
McCoy features loaded with action that will leave you wanting more of his
    B-Western adventures

Under director Sam Newfield, producer Sam Katzman, screenplay by Edward Halpern
...the cast include Tim McCoy (Lightning' Bill Carson posing as Miguel), Ben Corbett (Magpie), Dorothy Short (Joan), Ted Adams (Thurston), Alden "Stephen' Chase (James/foreman), Davie O'Brien (Bob Swane), Forrest Taylor (Blackton), Bob Terry (Lefty/gang truck driver), Slim Whitaker (Sheriff Burton), Frank Wayne (Jake/gang truck shotgun). . . . . .our story has our hero Tim McCoy being outbid by Forrest Taylor on cattle contracts...and is Ted Adams our star villain trying to get the best of McCoy...will McCoy bring out that Mexican disguise of his and throw in with all the badmen of this picture....how about Dave O'Brien and Ben Corbett who still think Lightning Bill Carson (McCoy) is the best cowboy star since sliced bread...can we see justice done with all the hard riding, shooting and drama that lies ahead...must admit, have a great fondness for Tim McCoy playing the continued role of a Mexican character, it is a pleasure to watch him in action...well, don't leave the theater you're about to find excitement in the last reel in this over the top sound B-Western.
