Brings back memories.......2007-04-07
The kids watch it over and over and it brings back memories for me.
The comics themselves are very simplistic, very little dialog and such. But that is what makes it great. Just good old fashion humor.
Better than Volume 1--catchy music too! .......2006-08-09
I watched most of these films on a local TV station in 1980-1981 that aired these 30-minute shows on the weekend. I am so happy that they are finally on DVD! The picture quality is clean and sharp on most of the films I saw! The films win on the background music alone, as they have been stuck in my head for over 25 years now! Henry Mancini knew how to come up with these strong melodies with his orchestra. I'm still humming to his other music from these films along with his famous Pink Panther theme. Several times, the Pink Panther outsmarts everybody--the dismantling of a construction project in Prefabricated Pink, how he grants the third wish on the fairy godmother by putting skates on her in one film (so funny!), how he even one ups a robber who had a ticking time bomb in the Pink Package Plot and so forth. A few films are repetitive with the Pink Panther getting chased up hilly sidewalks by the MPs or construction workers. I can't tell you how many times I've been laughing at these films--they are so funny! The films are still fresh and timeless to watch today--almost 40 years later to others, but 25-26 years later for me. It will get you just as hooked as the latest movie to come out on DVD.
Gave Me Pink Eye.......2006-03-25
Volume 2 of this 3-volume set is not as good as Volume 1 which has the episode where Henry Mancini applauds the pink feline orchestra conductor and where you hear the Pink Panther speak. It is much better than Volume 3, though. For those who like the cartoons with only background music (that's what gives this cartoon so much charm), there are no voices on this DVD and, even better, a laugh track only ruins two episodes. This DVD also includes one of my favorites: "Pink Valient." If you really like PP, definitely get the 5-disc set that includes all three volumes of the Classic Cartoon Collection along with two additional discs with more cartoons and extras (no Aardvark episodes and I think there is only one episode of The Inspector, however). The cartoons on Volume 2 are from 1967-68 and include the following 27 cartoons:
Pink of the Litter: PP is a trash collector who finds disposal more of a difficulty.
In the Pink: PP joins a gym and of course makes life miserable for another exerciser.
Jet Pink: I remember this ep well because it is featured on Viewmaster reels I had as a kid (and still have). PP tries his hand (uh, paw) at being a pilot.
Pink Paradise: PP visits an island and runs into a hunter and his dog. Of course, any mahem PP causes will be blamed on the dog.
Pinto Pink: Another ep featured on my Viewmaster reels. PP tries to ride a hilarious horse.
Congratulations, It's Pink: PP sets out to steal a picnic basket but gets a baby in a basket instead. At one point, he leaves it with an Indian couple and the husband becomes irate and attacks the white trading post guy. Definitely not PC!
Prefabricated Pink: PP is on a construction site and causes destruction.
The Hand is Pinker Than the Eye: PP sneaks into a magician's home and encounters magic props and an amorous rabbit.
Pink Outs: Weak episode. Just various clips that end with a pink screen.
Sky Blue Pink: PP tries his paw at kite-flying and terrorizes his neighbor so much he becomes the Red Baron.
Pinkadilly Circus: After a man removes a nail from PP's foot, PP is so grateful, he insists on being the man's slave. The man finds good use for PP against his nagging wife.
Psychedelic Pink: (Laugh Track=LT) Very strange ep, hence the title. PP visits the Bizarre Book Shop and wants to read "The Love Life of the Panther" (that's funny). From there, the ep goes all over the place.
Come on in the Water's Pink: PP visits Bicep Beach and competes with a body builder.
Put-Put Pink: PP builds a motorbike.
G.I. Pink: PP joins the Army and the nation has never been safer.
Lucky Pink: A robber tries to get rid of an unlucky horseshoe but PP keeps returning it to him.
The Pink Quarterback: PP chases after a rolling quarter that could buy him a hot dog or a hamburger (it must be the 1960s).
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Pink: PP builds a house in the view of an observation telescope.
Pink Valiant: A favorite of mine. A king hires PP to rescue his kidnapped daughter (who just runs around screaming). The kidnapper ends up as the one who really needs saving.
The Pink Pill: PP slips on a banana peel and winds up in the hospital with an annoying roommate.
Prehistoric Pink: PP and his stone-aged buddy try various ways to move a rectangular stone.
Pink in the Clink: (LT) PP is forced to assist a burglar.
Little Beaux Pink: PP has run-ins with a cowboy who doesn't like PP's grazing sheep.
Tickled Pink: PP asks his fairy godmother for roller skates and soon regrets it. He'll get even with his fairy godmother, however.
Pink Sphinx: PP is on a quest to find Rameses III with an unhelpful camel.
Pink is a Many Splintered Thing: PP becomes a lumberjack.
The Pink Package Plot: PP is forced to deliver a ticking package to the Slobvanian embassy.

Giving this one star because of a typo in the date of release? Please. I was thrilled to be able to watch my favorite childhood cartoons, and my kids love them, too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because there is no Ant and the Aardark included.

A gleam of hope for season 4.......2007-08-14
This has new episodes to DVD including:
Wassamata U
Goof Gas Attack
and the Treasure of Monte Zoom
Unfortunatly these Best Of series don't have any of the serials in between episodes, but thats a small price to pay for jam packed hilarity.

Scholastic videos let big folks rest their reading glasses by adapting Caldecott-winning and other worthy kids books to the small screen, with consistently impressive results. The six DVDs in the second Jumbo Box of Storybook Classics apply catchy music and skillful animation to dozens of stories, including Arlene Mosel and Blair Lent's Tikki Tikki Tembo, Jane Yolen and Mark Teague's How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? , Don Freeman's Corduroy, Peggy Rathmann's Good Night Gorilla, Paul O. Zelinsky's The Wheels on the Bus, and H.A. Rey's Curious George Rides a Bike (there's only one George story on the DVD, unfortunately). The Scholastic DVDs include bonus stories as well as read-alongs and English subtitles.

Love these!.......2007-05-14
All three of my kids (boys 7, 3, 1.75) LOVE these videoe. We put one on before bed and depending on how "on or "off" schedule we are, I can choose the right number of shows for them to watch. They are pretty short, which is nice...my kids always want to watch a movie to the end, which can be a problem at night. Our favorite by far is "Goodnight Gorilla". They have done a superb job animating these lovely story books...you will not be sorry!
A wonderful addition to the video collection.......2007-03-08
My children absolutely love it when we read them Wheels on the Bus and Good Night Gorilla. I am not fond of providing video to my children but when it is basically the book that I just read to them... I gave in. Not only do they love to see the video but then they want to read me the book. I had to buy the other books on the video because my child wanted to read them to me as well. So now I have Dem Bones and I know an Old Lady that Swallowed a Fly, to name of few others. I think the ones that have music associated with the book really speak to my children the most but overall the collection is a must!

I was not happy with this collection at all. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I have always been a Disney fan and I absolutly loved this collection. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I thought that there could have been a few more episodes on the disc.

could be from scratches we made or some other reason
Small set for small price and enjoyable........2005-07-04
I have a two year old girl and this dvd is just long enough for her to stay interested, but not too long to bore her. Being 8 cartoons - it's not the biggest set out there, and I'll probably buy the big set as soon as I finish this comment, but It's good for a little one if you're not wanting to spend $30 on a big set. Now that I know there's a bigger set out there, and I'm a Duck fan, I'll get it. This is a good dvd to put on before dinner to keep her occupied - and, by the time dinner's ready, she's settled down and ready to eat.
Good for the price.......2005-01-20
It's too bad it didn't come out for the holidays because it would have made a great grab-bag gift. For $10, you only get 8 cartoons, but for someone like myself who is a Donald Duck fan, it's nice to watch this whenever I need a good laugh. Today's cartoons are much too violent. It's nice to see something clean.

Ub Iwerks was one of the greatest animators of the silent and early sound eras: he animated "Steamboat Willie" and other early Disney shorts virtually by himself. But the films he produced at his own studio after breaking with Walt Disney in 1930 lack the vitality of his earlier work. During the '30s, the animators with Disney, the Fleischers, Warner Bros., and MGM developed a new style of cartoon humor that centered on characters with strong, recognizable personalities. Iwerks's first recurring character, Flip the Frog, who appears in more than half the cartoons in this collection, never developed into a wholesome good guy or a sarcastic antihero. He remained an observer, rather than someone who initiated the action, as Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny did. The rambling plots further weaken these films. Flip stumbles into a haunted house in "Spooks" (1932), but the artists can't decide if they're trying to be funny or scary, and the film falls between two chairs. The garish colors and bizarre designs in "Balloon Land" (1935) have a camp appeal, but the inflatable hero and heroine and the spiny villain simply aren't very interesting. Iwerks's cartoons unfortunately remain less than the sum of their parts, but this disc (in unison with Vol. 1) offers an interesting historical perspective on the development of popular animation. --Charles Solomon
Description
Volume 2 of a celebration of the pioneering solo cartoon work of Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney's foremost animator/collaborator in the formative early years. The first fully animated color cartoon version of "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp" (1934)...the legendary Flip the Frog in the slapstick masterpiece "The New Car" (1931)...the original cartoon adaptation of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," "The Headless Horseman" (1934)...the little-known animation star Willie Whopper in the surrealistic sci-fi classic "Stratos Fear" (1933)...and a famous "lost" film, a full-color cartoonization of "Don Quixote" (1934). These are just a few of the 58 cartoons captured on these two DVDs (available separately) of rediscovered masterworks from the very beginnings of the Golden Age of American Animation.

Forgotten Cartoons.......2007-01-19
We gave this to our 46 year old son for Christmas per his request.
He has a collection of old cartoons and other slap stick DVD's. I'm sure he'll receive hours of enjoyment from this collection.
Historical collection, and quite interesting........2005-11-02
Many of the other commentators of Volume 1 and Volume 2 have very nicely described the contents of these two collections. I'd like to just say that I found these cartoons to be very essential for anyone interested in the history of animation.
Flip the Frog comes across as another Mickey Mouse, Willie Whopper is somewhat interesting, while the Comicolor series is somewhat similar to Silly Symphonies. I'm not surprised at this since Ub worked at Disney, and is responsible for the early animation of Mickey Mouse and several Silly Symphonies.
I found the liner notes helpful in explaining the social context of these cartoons. Many are poking fun at the Hollywood stars of the day (Disney and Warner also have several of their own similar cartoons), others have relevant commentary about various conditions in our country at the time, and others are just interesting trips into the supernatural. Keep in mind that all these things have been pursued by Disney, Warner Brothers, etc., so there is nothing unusual here. There are plenty of sight gags and the usual exaggerations that early cartoons are especially known for.
Also, I think it would be fair to say that the characters and stories as a whole tend not to progressively develop over the short life of Ub's studio. If you treat all the cartoons simply as individual accomplishments, then it's not a big deal, but as a whole they don't really change much. This isn't necessarily a problem, just an observation.
It's kind of interesting to me that I always felt I was almost watching Disney cartoons, but at the same time there are definitely other edgier influences at work here. The fact that Ub's staff of animators largely came from the Fleischer studio, and included Betty Boop's creator, made the difference. Because of this, innuendo abounds in several of Flip's cartoons, produced from 1930-1933 (pre-Code era). One cartoon, "The Milkman" ends with Flip and the kid singing "Hail, Hail, the gang's all here", and the horse responds by singing "What the hell do we care?". The second time around, as the horse startes to sing the same response, Flip bashes him over the head with a milk bottle to stop him from using the "naughty" word. Holy cow!!! Can you imagine Disney doing this? In "The Office Boy", the sexual innuendos hit a high, especially with the secretary. I was laughing for being taken by surprise. I didn't expect this sort of content. Well, get ready for an interesting time. By the way, unless I'm mistaken, it seemed like Volume 2 was the one for the edgier cartoons. Willie Whopper's cartoons are not too bad, really. They are tall tales told by a kid. Lastly, the Comi-Color cartoons, though fairly delightful, never measure up to the quality of Disney's Silly symphonies. I'd have to say that they are probably the highest quality cartoons Ub produced.
Both DVD cases say that these cartoons are "now viewed for the first time on DVD in unfaded, pristine prints from the orginal negatives". I must protest! Many of these cartoons don't look or sound pristine at all, but are in many cases faded and dirty, with sound to match. It depends on the cartoons. Most of the Flip cartoons aren't so bad, the Willie Whopper ones are the worst of these two collections, and The Comi-Color cartoons all seem to have a softness about them (video and audio). I'd say that perhaps this is the best we can get our hands on, but, really, to say "unfaded, pristine prints" is just flat-out not the case. Overall, most of them are quite watchable, but just keep these observations in mind. I give both collections four stars due to the technical issues.
Volume 2 contents.......2005-01-14
26 cartoons fill up this volume for 190 minutes worth of cartoon nostalgia. Some of the humor isn't "politically correct", and some of it is a bit ribald, but the cartoons are for the most part entertaining. All but five of the cartoons star the character of "Flip the Frog", a character best taken in small doses (in watching all the cartoons at once, the humor wears a bit thin.) All the Flip cartoons are in black and white, as is one of the Willie Whopper cartoons. The remaining four cartoons are in color, three of which stand alone. The fourth was apparently released at different times under "Famous Fairytales" (as on this disc) and "Willie Whopper" labels.
Here is a list of the disc's contents:
1) Flip the Frog / The Nurse Maid (1932)
2) Flip the Frog / Room Runners (1932)
3) Flip the Frog / The Office Boy (1932)
4) Flip the Frog / The Milkman (1932)
5) Flip the Frog / The New Car (1931)
6) Flip the Frog / Ragtime Romeo (1931)
7) Flip the Frog / What a LIfe (1932)
8) Flip the Frog / The Bully (1932)
9) Flip the Frog / Funny Face (1932)
10) Flip the Frog / Movie Mad (1931)
11) Flip the Frog / The Cuckoo Murder Case (1930)
12) Willie Whopper / Stratos Fear (1933)
13) Comi Color / Jack Frost (1934)
14) Flip the Frog / Chinaman's Chance (1933)
15) Willie Whopper / Hell's Fire (1934) (aka Famous Fairytales / Masquerade Holiday)
16) Flip the Frog / Techno-Cracked (1933)
17) Flip the Frog / Soda Squirt (1933)
18) Comi Color / The Headless Horseman (1934)
19) Flip the Frog / Spooks (19331)
20) Comi Color / Balloonland (1935)
21) Flip the Frog / Laughing Gas (1931)
22) Flip the Frog / Circus (1932)
23) Flip the Frog / Stormy Seas (1932)
24) Flip the Frog / Coo Coo the Magician (1933)
25) Flip the Frog / School Days (1932)
26) Flip the Frog / The Goal Rush (1932)
Creative, imaginative, and hilarious roll into one.......2005-01-13
It's as good if not better than Volume 1 of Cartoons That Time Forgot. The episodes are a bit more wierd in this volume. Hope there will be a Volume 3 coming out soon.
Save your money.......2003-09-23
Bought this expecting a DVD of the classic comi-color cartoons.
Almost the entire thing was Flip the Frog cartoons. Black and white. Not bad but not what I hoped it would be. Disappointing.

SATURDAY MORNING FEVER IS ON THE RISE!!!.......2007-02-07
This volume contains the second four episodes of a great " Monster of the week show"".It was around this time that the programs title was changed from Godzilla Power Hour to The Godzilla Super 90. Every week Godzilla
faught a new monster. What made this a little better than other american incarnations such as the Marvel
and Dark Horse comics was the use of monsters who were completely original in concept. The comics always used Toho rip off monster. (ie. Monsters who are vaguely similar to Toho characters). There are no fake King Kongs, Rodans or Mechagodzillas here. Its all original creations, like an Ultraman show. Some fans have complained about the lack of classic toho characters, but I think the repetitious over use of the same characters is what bogged down the later Showa Godzilla Movies and the more recent ones. (Will you guys at Toho please give Mothra and King Ghidorah a vacation!) Introducing a new foe each week is a much better approach.
Monsters episodes:
Episode 5: The Seaweed Monster is an ever growing patch of kelp.
episode 6: Alien Energy Beast is a giant glowing size changing centepede type creature that arrives in a flying
saucer and can assume the form of anything, including Godzilla.
episode 7: Collossus is agiant one eyed, tentacled alien robot from the lost civilisation of Atlantis, revealed to be a giant flying saucer.
episode 8: Cyclops. An ancient alien civilization left behind an invisible energy field on a lost island, to keep the mythilogical Cyclops, here depicted as a crad like biped with lobster claws. We are never told where the cyclops came from. Is he an ancient earth creature or did he arrive with the aliens.
This is supposedly the last volumeto be released and there are no plans to releae any more.
Some of my favorite episodes are here!.......2006-04-12
This DVD is called "Godzilla: The Original Animated Series Volume 2."
This DVD contains 4 episodes of the 1970s Hanna Barbera Godzilla cartoon. They are:
The Seaweed Monster - A monster made of seaweed attacks the Calico. Godzilla comes by and saves the day. But a few pieces of seaweed have broken off the creature. These pieces start growing into new monsters. And one of them is on board the Calico. This is an excellent episode.
The Energy Beast - A spaceship lands on earth. A giant alien comes out of the spaceship. The alien disguises itself as a tree. Later on, the Calico's crew is stunned to see Godzilla attacking a city. This is a wonderful episode.
The Colossus Of Atlantis - This is one of my favorite episodes of the series. The city of Atlantis rises out of the ocean. The Calico's crew visits the city. The Calico gets destroyed. It seems that the people of Atlantis liked to watch movies on DVDs, which Dr. Darian calls "history discs." A giant robot that was built to guard Atlantis ends up malfunctioning, and becomes a danger to the city and its inhabitants. This is an excellent episode.
The Horror Of Forgotten Island - This fantastic episode combines science fiction with ancient mythology. A long time ago, some friendly aliens visited the earth. They landed on a small island. They discovered a giant cyclops monster. In order to prevent the cyclops from leaving the island and terrorizing the people of earth, the aliens built a giant electromagnetic force field to keep the creature trapped on the island. But now a lightning storm has caused the force field to malfunction. The Calico's crew has to reactivate the force field. This episode is one of the reasons why I love this show so much.

Great fun collection.......2006-02-22
My girlfriend bought me this set for Christmas knowing I love cartoons. It's a 2 double disc (each disc is double sided) set with about 15 cartoons per disc side for a total of 60 public domain cartoons. Picture & sound quality are quite good with the ecxeption of 2 cartoons (one is Pantry Panic) which are on the green side that didn't bother me as the cartoons were still a joy to watch. The print source seems to be older TV prints so expect a few (but not all) of the cartoons to have some scratches & splices. The cartoon listing on the back is not quite accurate (For example Poor Cinderella is listed but is not in this set) so here is the correct listing. All cartoons are in color with the exeption of the Betty Boops which were made in black & white.
I'll name the stars if I know them. The others I've never heard of but they were still good. I'm sure young kids will like these cartoons as well as we older folks.
The sing alongs have some cartoon action then it goes into the song (with the bouncing ball) towards the middle of the cartoon. Oh & one more thing. Each disc has a menu with the individual cartoons listed & the menu before that has a play all button. If you select one cartoon to watch the others after it will play unless you go back to the cartoon menu or hit the stop button.

Only for those who did not buy the Harveytoons DVD set........2007-04-18
Some of the Casper Cartoons from the Harveytoons DVD set have been collected here for parents who don't want to expose their kids to the violent Herman & Katnip cartoons. Casper is a wholesome & lovable dead boy looking for a friend, kind of an innocent Poltergeist.
These cartoons are not really for adults, and older children may be bored by them. If you fall into this catagory and want to see classic Paramount Famous Studios cartoons (later sold to Harvey Comics & re-named) you should buy the Harveytoons DVD set from Classic Media or the upcoming Popeye Cartoon sets from Warner Home Video.
Best of Casper, Vol. 2 Includes
"Frightday the 13th,"
"Hooky Spooky,"
"Little Boo Peep,"
"North Pal,"
"Keep Your Grin Up,"
"Penguin for Your Thoughts,"
"Spook and Span,"
"Spook No Evil,"
"Spunky Skunky,"
"Boo Bop,"
"To Boo or Not to Boo."
The original theatrical titles have been trimmed down to just the titlecard.

PD, Low Quality Junk.......2006-12-25
It seems the only hope to sell this DVD is by adding "tags" when users search for other cartoons that have NOTHING to do with these PD junk.
These are old Public Domain Cartoons of very low quality. They have been passed around for years on VHS to make a quick buck and now on DVD.
Not worth buying.
I was surprised.......2006-12-10
Just bought the DVD at a local discount store and was surprised at what I've seen thus far. The extras: Humpty Dumpty, The Three Bears, Mary's Little Lamb... was worth the price I paid for the 2 disc set. I go back to a time when Saturday mornings had real cartoons. Before "Looney Tunes" and "Rocky" took over. As a matter of fact, it wasn't just Saturday mornings... it was every morning!!!
Very uneven, but with some treasures.......2005-09-11
The treasures include the Betty Boop cartoons, the Felix the Cat in color, and the early Popeye cartoons (before Paramount made him into a scat singer). These are absolutely wonderful. There's a lot of junk here too, what whaddya expect for the price? $5.50 at Wal-Mart; didn't see it at any dollar stores in my area, but anyway, my only real gripe is that "Popeye For President" (oddly, the very first of the 60 toons here) is taken from such a horrifically degraded print that it's almost unwatchable. Old cartoons like this, sure I expect a little less quality than a new film, but wow.
Pretty Awesome DVD Set!!.......2005-09-06

I Know Its Really Worth A Dollar In Most Stores. I Liked This DVD Though It Had Poor Quality. Then I Said, I Dont Care, This Is How My Mom And Dad Used To Watch These On Saturday Morning In The 60's. Speaking Of My Mom And Dad, They Enjoy Watching This DVD Set Because It Brings Back Memories To Them! They Enjoy Felix The Cat, Little Audry, Betty Boop And More. My Personal Favorites Are Popeye And Little Lulu.
* I Reccomend This DVD, Krazy Kat, The Simpsons, Garfield And Friends And FAMILY GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
it's okay.......2005-04-14
First of all, if you do a bit of searching in dollar stores and dvd shops, you'll be able to find this for a lot cheaper than what they're selling it for on this site. You can get this dvd for a lot cheaper than this and it's just not worth the price. (At least to me.)
I'm a big Looney Tunes, Woody Woodpecker, Felix the Cat, Tom and Jerry, and Tex Avery geek; so there were only a few cartoons on here that I was really into. There's only one Warner Bros. cartoon short on this compilation, which is "Pigs in a Polka" (you can find that easily on other cheap cartoon dvds). Then there's only one Woody Woodpecker cartoon: "Pantry Panic" (you can find that easily too). Only two Felix cartoons: "Bold King Cole" and "the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg" (for a good Felix dvd, I suggest the one that Goodtimes made, if you can find it; it has all three old color Felix cartoons; or any dvd featuring black and white Felix shorts).
This dvd set is compromised of two double-sided discs, which each one themed on a certain cartoon character: one side is nothing but Superman, then the next one is themed on Popeye (mostly the Famous Studios Popeye cartoons), the next is Betty Boop and Little Audry, the next one is half full of Casper shorts plus some other misscellaneous cartoons (mostly by Famous Studios). (Not that those cartoon characters aren't any good, they're just not as funny and interesting to me.)
What makes me mad about this dvd set is that they make it out to be a nice, big, huge, cartoon compilation with a lot more variety and a lot more classic cartoon characters than what's actually on it. It's a nice concept to have so many old cartoons on one set, but not with the stale variety that it presents.
Customer Reviews:
Worth it just for "Any Boy, USA"!.......2006-08-05
There's a great selection of those preachy, creaky old "educational" flicks on this disc, but the knock-out punch HAS to be the last one, "Any Boy, USA". Filmed in 1953 and funded by the Women's Christian Temperance Union, it features a "country boy" (complete with bib overalls and checkered shirt) who has "just graduated from the 8th grade" and has a hankerin' to see the Big City. (As WC Fields put it, "The city is no place for a woman, but lots of pretty men go-hooo thar.") "William Blake" (the boy, in an eerie reminder of Jarmusch's "Dead Man") doesn't get 50 yards from the front door when he runs into....."Mr. Whiskey"! (Gasp!) Mr. Whiskey is either an astonishingly good method actor or (as I suspect) went to the Brian Donleavy School for Sodden Actors. He slurringly bemoans how he loses all of his friends ('cuz they kinda die on him), and how he has trouble meeting new ones because, you see, no one drinks: pilots, cabbies, firemen, sailors - NO one drinks! (Geee, is that true?) He and William Blake somehow make it to the "city" (which looks like Dresden the day after the big raid, down to the burning buildings), where they meet "The Derelict" (as the credits call him), who is one of Mr. Whisky's remaining friends - sort of. I can't imagine who the intended audience for this was. It is simply one of the MOST bizarre "educational" flicks I have ever seen, both in concept and in execution. The MST folks would have had a field day with it. There's also "Going Steady", which warns of the perils of going steady but not KNOWING it (????), "Unto Thyself Be True", where the police have religious counselors to sort out family problems before they get serious, "Getting Along With Parents" (just do what they say, or else), "Body Care and Grooming", aimed at COLLEGE-aged typical 30-year-old teenagers, and "Name Unknown", where every stranger is a sex-crazed killer.
What a collection, and the quality is as good as you remember, too ;-) This is definitely a riffer's paradise. All I can add is, I HOPE they don't make 'em like THIS any more!
Fond memories of health class.......2005-12-24
If you enjoyed educational films when you were in health class, you'll get a warm feeling watching these movies explain away life's complex problems in systemic simplicity. It's amazing how these profressionals can make us seem so stupid.
The folks at AV Geeks have provided a fine selection of health films. You will learn how to properly bathe yourself. Remember to use soap!
