These episodes follow the pattern set at the beginning of the Super S continuity: the members of the evil Amazon Trio (Fish-Eye, Tigers-Eye, and Hawks-Eye) search for the "mirror of beautiful dreams" that contains the Pegasus, which will enable them to capture the magical animal. They attack a fashion designer, a young soccer player, a stern old woman, a ballet instructor, and Scouts Mina and Amy. Each time, the Sailor Scouts defeat a monstrous "Remless" with the help of Tuxedo Mask and the Pegasus. In episode 16 Serena (Usagi) and fellow Scouts Amy, Raye, Lita, and Mina (Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako in Japanese) discover that Rini (Chibiusa) has a special bond with the Pegasus, and that the winged unicorn can give them the power to metamorphose into their Super forms, but for some reason, they don't act on that knowledge. Rated 13 Up: Violence, grotesque imagery, brief nudity. --Charles SolomonDescription
The Amazon Trio continues their search for the Pegasus by targeting fashion designers, ballet instructors, and others with pure dreams. Sailor Moon keeps struggling against the Nightmare Circus, but when they target Sailor Venus and Sailor Mercury, are th ey closing in on Chibi-Usa? How long can Chibi-Usa keep her Pegasus dream a secret? Mean while, when a Pegasus begins causing trouble around the city, can they continue to trust i t?Customer Reviews:
Cute, but that's all.......2004-06-18
Good set.......2004-04-01
BASIC PLOT:
This is the fourth of the five Sailor Moon series. By now the Death Busters have been defeated, and Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus have left town. Sailor Chibi Moon has also decided to remain in the present time period rather than go back to the future. Unfortunately, the peace period is short lived. A new series of villains has arrived on the scene following the occurence of an eclipse. These new villains hunt down humans for their dream mirrors, in hope that they will find the one that their master desires. And all the while, Chibiusa keeps getting visits from a mysterious Pegasus in her dreams. What's up with this? This saga of Sailor Moon rages on for about thirty episodes.
SERIES OPINIONS:
Overall, this is a good Sailor Moon saga, but when compared to the other sagas of the series, it's strictly average. The Dream Mirror thing is pretty much a rip-off of the Heart Crystal thing from the previous series, the S series. Likewise, Chibiusa is an annoying character - although she's not QUITE as bad as people make her out to be. If you're a fan of the series, check this saga out. I think you'll enjoy it.
THE DUB:
The dubbed version of the series is in many ways better than previous sagas that have been dubbed, and worse in many ways. It's better in that it uses the original background music and that more of the character names than ever before are close to their originals, but it's worse in that some scenes are horribly translated, and many of them have been Americanized, often with horrible slang. Here's a little tip - while you're watching the Japanese subtitled version of the DVD, hit the Audio button on your DVD remote and switch to the dub track. This way you can watch the English dub with the English subtitles for the Japanese version - there's no better way to see how bad some of the translations are!
DVD:
Once again, DVDs featuring an uncut dub and an uncut sub have been released. This is great because you get both versions of the series. Unfortunately, these DVDs are severely lacking in the extras department. Why couldn't they give us things like production art and interviews with cast and crew? Those would have been great extras!
OVERALL:
Overall this is an excellent DVD set, but I remain confident that I could also have been done much better. Still, if you're a Sailor Moon fan, this is a strongly recommended release.

These adventures follow the pattern established on the previous disc, as the search for the "Mirror of Beautiful Dreams" continues. Zirconia, the agent of the evil Nehelenia, summons the Amazon Quartet (Cerecere, Pallapalla, Junjun, and Vesves) to find the Mirror. Curiously, the four girls in circus costumes refer to Zirconia as "Old Hag" and "she," although the character's English voice is clearly male. The members of the Quartet attack a girl who literally has stars in her eyes for Raye/Rei, and pose as dentists to trap Serena/Usagi and Rini/Chibiusa. Their other victims include a preschool teacher, a starving artist (who's hungry enough to eat Serena's cooking), and two boys from Rini's school. Each member of the foursome uses a "Remless" to battle the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Moon, but they're undone when Rini (Chibiusa) summons Pegasus with her "Twinkle Yell." The filmmakers abruptly change villains as the SuperS adventure continues. The nasty Amazon Trio (Fish-Eye, Tigers-Eye, and Hawks-Eye) tire of being used by Zirconia of the Dead Moon Circus to find the "mirror of beautiful dreams" that contains the Pegasus. When Fish-Eye falls for Darren (Mamoru), the threesome decides they want to become human; Pegasus grants their wish, despite their evil deeds. Zirconia, who serves Nehelenia, "The True Queen of the Moon," calls up the Amazon Quartet. Cerecere, Pallapalla, Junjun, and Vesves are girls in circus attire who also fight with a "Remless," an evil spirit similar to the "Daimohns" in the S continuity. In each encounter, they battle Sailor Scouts Serena, Amy, Raye, Lita, and Mina (Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako in Japanese) and are finally defeated when Rini (Chibiusa) summons Pegasus with her "Twinkle Yell." The adventures in this second collection of the Super S series (episodes 128 to 166) follow a single pattern. Zirconia sends out Fish-Eye, Tigers-Eye, or Hawks-Eye to find the person with the beautiful dream that will enable them to capture the Pegasus. Why they need the Pegasus to conquer the world is never explained. The trio flees the Sailor Scouts, leaving a "Remless," an evil spirit similar to the "Daimohns" in the S series, to fight them. Serena (Usage) and Rini (Chibiusa) save the innocent victims and destroy each Remless, with the help of Amy, Raye, Lita, and Mina (Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako) and Tuxedo Mask (Darien/Mamoru). Rini continues to strengthen her psychic link with the Pegasus and to summon him in times of need with her "Twinkle Yell," but the villains from the Dead Moon Circus remain unaware of their bond. Rated 13 Up: Violence, grotesque imagery, brief nudity. --Charles SolomonDescription

An anime variant of the Pied Piper story, this one-hour movie pits the pretty soldiers against Queen Valdiana, who wants to put the world to sleep in order to harvest dream energy. Aimed at younger Sailor Moon fans, the film puts the ultra-cute Chibi-Usa at the center of the fairy-tale plot (she's Sailor Moon's yet-to-be-born daughter, sent back from the future for reasons too complicated to explain). Nevertheless, there's enough wacky humor and superpowered action (including an appearance by Sailor Uranus and the other Outer Senshi) to keep all ages interested. The opening sequences look wonderful--a flying ship comes to carry away the children who have been hypnotized by a flute-playing fairy--and the haunting music in this subtitled version adds a little extra chill to the atmosphere. Sailor Moon Super S may not contribute much to the ongoing arc of the Sailor Moon story, but as a self-contained movie it's a lot of fun. Ages 7 and up. --Simon LeakeDescription
