Inspiring .......2007-06-29
If you are into Techno or House and want to know how to mix this type of music the tutorial is one of the best I've seen.
If you are a bedroom DJ that's ready for the real thing, you should watch the documentary disk and soak in all the wisdom told by some of the world all time top DJ pro's in the business.
Highly recommend

WOW.......2007-04-12
This is a great DVD! I bought it for the tutorial. If you are new to turntables then I would highly recomend this DVD. Nigel goes through everything from how to set up you tables and mixer to mixing with three tables and a cdj. I am new to mixing and found the tutorial very iniformative. I feel now I understand how to properly setup all those strange dials that are on your tonearm ect... and how each funtion of a mixer affects the music and why you would adjust them. Note this DVD is designed for those who want to mix NOT scratch. If you want to learn how to scratch and spin hip hop then this dvd is not for you. This tutorial focuses on how to mix house trance techno ect.... NOT HIP HOP. Although I am sure many of the same rules apply it is not a good starting point for the hip hop dj. BRAVO!!!!
Look no further..........2007-01-04
If you want to know anything about anything about techno music, this is all you will need. With interview after interview of well known and not so well known DJs, this is an all encompassing view by those involved in the scene. While there may not be any "legendary" DJs such as Digweed, Tenaglia or Sasha (though Deep Dish and Paul van Dyk appear) in here, it doesn't matter. All these DJs are in the mix, if you will.
The second disc is a step by step how-to lesson by Nigel Richards which is also all-encompassing, giving great depth and detail to the technical end (although it does take some of the magic out of it).
The entire interviews of most of the artists are also included snippets of which appear throughout the actual documentary. Look no further. While it may not give the technical background to electronic music (e.g. Modulations: Cinema for the Ear) or the rave/techno scene in general (e.g. Better Living Through Circuitry), this is the only one that gets deeply personal and one on one with the DJs themselves.
Whether or not one can digest all of the interviews and the pulsating soundtrack for the more than five hours on two discs is up to the viewer. But it's there for the choosing.
Back in the Days.......2006-12-09
This is now back in the days but it's a good buy. If you ever wondered what djs' did and how you could be down, then this is one of the films for you. Stangers in the dark and music coming from nowhere, then the relief you went out and you were mysterious. This is a staple for your stapler. For aspiring djs' in techno, house or whatever you want to call it. People's lives in motion and the music.
EXCELLENT!.......2006-03-15
This title comes with 2 DVD's. The first DVD consists of interviews with some respected DJ's in the field (Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, Sandra Collins, Christopher Lawrence, Doc Martin, Mars, Dyloot, off the top of my head...). GREAT pieces of information and lots of inspiration. If, after watching this DVD, after all the discouragement and encouragement, and knowing how TOUGH this field is... you still have the drive to DJ, then it's the field for you.
DVD 2 is a tutorial by Nigel Richards. I've been DJing for 5 years, but I thought I'd still watch it just to see what it was like. Excellent info in the tutorial, especially for budding DJ's. He's a funny, cocky, guy, so the tutorial is really fun to watch.
