Description

What's it like to run with wild dogs in the Okavango, prowl with lions in Botswana, swim with manatees in Florida, patrol the Patagonia coast with killer whales and dig for clams with grizzlies in Alaska? These are just some of the up-close experiences award-winning wildlife filmmakers Martin and Chris Kratt have in the first season of the hit series from the National Geographic Channel. Travel all over the world with the Kratt brothers as they live with the animals on their turf seeking to understand what it's like to Be the Creature. Each adventure offers a fresh perspective on the private worlds of some of nature's most extraordinary animals.

5 out of 5 stars movie review.......2007-06-02

These movies are a must for children who love animals. The Kratt brothers are so entertaining.

5 out of 5 stars Educational and Fun.......2007-01-21

My favorite episode is the one where surrounded by snow the Kratt brothers sit down in hot springs, seemingly naked, next to Japanese macaque snow monkeys. This is funny, but they don't forget to tell you how a wet monkey fairs in the snow, and I had always wondered about that. The Kratt brothers are funny but they never forget to tell you the nuts and bolts of what your looking at. I have a degree in biology and in their funny way I see them presenting the textbook stuff right in their jokes. That is, they are very organized and informative. This is not to be confused with Zoboomafoo, the Kratts's kiddy show. My 9 year old daughter and I were both just as enthusiastic about this DVD.

5 out of 5 stars Not Zaboomafoo, but in a lot of ways better........2007-01-12

We got this DVD because we were looking for Zaboomafoo for our kids 6 and 3 and this seemed like a better deal. We had no idea what to expect, but we've been pleasantly surprised most of the time. This is a little graphic for a 6 and 3 year old at times-- or I should say for us as parents. Like on the Wild dog episode my wife was not ready to see a dog regurgitate about 3 pounds of meat on camera. Nor were we ready as parents to explain why the alpha kangaroo male on the kangaroo episode was trying to mate with as many of the female kangaroos as possible.) However this is a nature video-- parents should expect some of this. It is more realistic and less sanitized (and fewer cheesy pratfalls) than an episode of Zaboomafoo and more engaging for adults. It is something we can all watch as family and enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Kratt Brothers Rock!.......2007-01-09

We have always enjoyed watching the Kratt Brothers "Be The Creature" show on the National Geographic channel on cable TV. Although their show is geared toward children, their style transcends the age barrier easily. They are interesting and fun to watch. Their show is filled with many "Wow"s too.

5 out of 5 stars You've Done it again, Kratt Brothers!!!.......2006-12-25

I love the Kratt Brothers TV shows. When I became to old for Zoboomafoo (which I missed seeing almost all the time), my parents put Be The Creature under the christmas tree. I reccomend this prouduct to anyone animal finatic (like me), or a person who isn't to crazy about them, and wants to learn about them. If you are a person like that, The Kratt Brothers Be the Creature program is perfect for you.
