Product Description
Do you learn better by watching rather than reading? Here is a chance to see how to transport your baby from screaming into serenity...in minutes. Watch as, step-by-step, Dr. Karp teaches new parent how to switch on their baby's powerful calming reflex. English and Spanish In "The Happiest Baby" Dr. Karp reveals a treasure sought by new parents for centuries... the "calming reflex" (the automatic "off-switch? for any baby?s crying). No wonder thousands of Los Angeles parents, from working moms to superstars like Madonna and Michelle Pfeiffer have turned to Dr. Karp to learn his secrets for making babies happy. Elisabeth Bing author and co-founder of Lamaze International "The Happiest Baby on the Block is fun, fascinating and convincing. I highly recommend it to all new parents." (Running time - 38 minutes.) The DVD also contains 3 bonus chapters: 1) Dr. Karp answers 25 questions from parents about calming babies and helping them sleep. 2) A Spanish dubbed audio track of the entire 38 minute teaching video. 3) Three tracks of calming white-noise sound that is an extraordinary mix of womb sounds and a newly designed pulsation that babies love (even though it sounds a little odd to the ears of an adult) Each track can be played individually, played in sequence or repeated for hours to gently guide your baby into a deep level of relaxation. This video is designed in NTSC not PAL or SECAM. It is meant for use in most countries in the Western Hemisphere as well as Japan, South Korea, Greenland, Guam, Samoa, and the Philippines.

Must have for new born.......2007-09-16
I am a mother of a triplets, needless to say, I need all the help I can get. This DVD was recommended by the babies' new PED. By then, my babies were already 2 months old but it still helped, I just wish that someone had told me about it earlier. The methods in the DVD defiantly work. My advise, get this BEFORE your baby is born and follow through with it from the first day, will save you time and make your life easier.
A MUST HAVE!.......2007-09-07
This video will introduce you to a way to make your infant sleep! There is no magic involved, but simple techniques that work to calm your baby. Our baby has been sleeping all night through since 7 weeks, some nights she sleeps 13 hours!!
Making the first few months a little easier.......2007-09-07
We buy this as a baby shower gift for friends every time. It worked wonders. At last we had a peaceful car ride (our son would scream in the car seat anytime we went somewhere). Oh beloved static!
These techniques work if only people give them a chance. Too many parents say their kid hates to be swaddled. Well, they were more squished than that for nine months. These techniques make sense too.
I hear the book is great too but I think the DVD must be better, especially for those who don't have time to read the book. Watching Dr. Karp use these techniques with real babies is amazing. And the sounds included on the DVD are handy too.
Good way to calm your baby from 0-3 months.......2007-09-06
I found Dr. Karp's techniques beneficial in calming our baby. It is also a great way for Dad to interact with the baby. This is a quick video to watch as well, in case you don't have time to read the book.
THE HAPPIEST PARENTS ON THE BLOCK.......2007-09-04
Our son was not exactly colicky or high need during his "4th trimester" of his life however, a trusted friend recommended the dvd so highly we thought we'd watch it anyway and practice the 5 S's method to see what would happen. Well, our son went from being slightly fussy before bedtime with just a couple of wake ups throughout the night to drifting off to sleep without any drama and sleeping the whole night through from the age of 4 weeks until now at age of 10 months! We simply couldn't believe the transformation. Our family as well as other parents were shocked that our son was such a great sleeper during the night which made him very happy and rested during the day. My husband and I believe that Dr Karp's method was the key reason behind our baby's amazing new nighttime routine. We highly recommend the dvd or the book to any frustrated and sleep-deprived parents or even those parents who think that their baby doesn't need the 5 S's method. Dr Karp's method is simply a whole new level of peaceful nighttime routine for babies.
Customer Reviews:
Illustrates a great training method.......2007-06-03
I have trained two dogs with their methods and owned the book since the original version, but this beautiful, well made, production really makes it easy to understand exactly what you are supposed to be doing with your dog. The dog training part is set up in easy chapters that you can replay and focus on, if necessary.
It is a nice production with peaceful and beautiful landscapes and relaxing music that make it a really gentle and peaceful DVD to watch with any dog lover, as it really emphasizes the companionship that is the very essence of all that we love of dogs.

How's Your News? may not be the greatest road-movie ever made, but it's definitely a strong contender for runner-up honors. A Village Voice reviewer got it exactly right when he praised documentary filmmaker and disability camp counselor Arthur Bradford for "always knowing the difference between laughing at and laughing with," because that's a crucial distinction to make when confronting disability in politically correct America. Without a shred of condescension, Bradford hit the road from New Hampshire to Hollywood with Ron Simonsen (who has cerebral palsy), Larry Perry (advanced cerebral palsy), Robert Bird (Down Syndrome), Sean Costello (Down Syndrome), and Susan Harrington (mild retardation and legal blindness), who proceed to encounter everyday Americans with their cross-country "news team" interviews. Financed by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker (who include various disabled characters in their irreverent animated series), the resulting travelogue is a frequently hilarious, powerfully revealing (in-your-face disability tends to be a Rorschach test for human behavior), unexpectedly moving (as when Simonsen meets his TV hero, Chad Everett) and illuminating look at being "different" in a country that clings too tightly to the security blanket of conformity. How's your news? Thanks to these intrepid reporters, it's very good indeed! --Jeff Shannon (quadriplegic since 1979)
Description
Five outgoing reporters with mental and physical disabilities hit the road, traveling coast to coast in a hand-painted RV, interviewing everyone they meet. Follow the news team as they explore honky-tonk bars in Nashville, alligator farms in Arkansas, the Grand Canyon and the wild streets of America's cities and towns. Unassuming, funny, and genuine to the core, this is not your typical news show.

would you like to chase the blues awaaaaay?.......2007-01-10
This is a great example of the perseverance of the mentally and physically challenged. I am so glad someone made this happen for these people, it was very nice of them, and it's hilarious.
Such a great documentary!.......2006-02-18
If you have ever had a family member, friend or client with a disability, please see this film. It's a delightful documentary about 5 people with disabilities who become people-on-the-street interviewers and do a wonderful job.
The music is wonderful, too as are the special scenes.
not clear what the point is.......2005-04-16
After a recommendation this arrived via Netflix. The fact that the "laughing with them, laughing at them" dichotomy must be explored at all is a major failing. Disappointingly, I think most viewers will inevitably shade to the latter. While the premise of the movie, i.e., a cross-country trip and accompanying filmic narrative, is compelling and nominally empowering for the participants, the audience is left only to chuckle and casually observe, not truly engage, empathize or otherwise understand those in the movie. There are far superior efforts at engaging those who are mentally and physically disadvantage or otherwise "different."
Incredible Film !.......2004-12-22
This film was brilliant. If everyone in the world followed the free-spirit that these five friends have, we would live in a much better place. I hope through this film, others will see that people with disabilities are the more "normal" of us in our society, and we can learn a lot more from them than we think. My 8,10 and 13 yr old children watched intently, and loved every minute of the film. They can't wait to meet Ronnie one day, and are so impressed that their Mom is friends with someone famous~! GREAT JOB!
A vision of how life should be.......2004-09-09
This is, quite simply, a must-own. Note that I did not call it a must-see, but a must-own. You will be forcing your friends to watch this film, and you will be visiting the How's Your News website so you can buy the soundtrack. I'm betting that this is the best 17 dollars you've spent all year -- no joke. Buy it!

Owen McCabe (Paul Schneider, All the Real Girls) may be a nice guy, but he's a loser in love. Tired of rejection, the LA denizen decides to stop being so darn nice. After all, he's not bad looking and he has a decent job--he's a busy ghostwriter--so the nice-ness must be to blame. He starts by telling his friends what he really thinks about them. Except for his bisexual roommate, Allison (Poppy Montgomery, Without a Trace), this scares them away, but he decides he'll be better off. (As for Allison, he can't think of anything mean to say.) Just as he's enjoying his newfound freedom, Owen runs into Val (Jennifer Westfeldt, Kissing Jessica Stein), a friend on whom he's been harboring a crush. Turns out she feels the same and has also recently exited a long-term relationship. Owen decides to come clean and tell her he just wants to sleep with her, but doesn't get the chance. Consequently, she thinks he's...nice. Despite his best efforts, he can't convince her he's a cad. Val really likes him. What's a not-so-nice guy to do? The answer may not be surprising, but first-time director Jordan Hawley throws a few unexpected twists and turns into the mix before coming out on the side of nice-ness. Originally titled 50 Ways to Lose Your Lover, this fresh-faced romantic comedy features Fred Willard as Owen's ornery client and Tori Spelling as Allison's black-clad lover. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Customer Reviews:
It's all in here..........2007-01-22
Jordan Hawley's `How to Lose Your Lover' is my kind of movie - all about brainy self-examination, funny, and full of twists. For me it's genuinely original - goodbyes are always about fake warm feelings, not burning bridges. Enjoy the psychosis, the antics, the irreverence and the decadence - but when it counts there is real heart in here, too. Setting this sort of thing in LA is something I've never seen. I want to call Hawley `West Coast Woody'. Has any movie celebrated the buildings and landmarks of LA in the same way?
How to lose your interest...........2006-09-16
Jordan Hawley wrote and directed this dark 'comedy' about the current state of love/hate relationships in Los Angeles (or inability to create same) with about as much panache as yesterday's onion rings. The storyline has been used so many times that the tread is off the tires.
LA ghostwriter Owen (Paul Schneider) is a 'nice guy' who sustains an inability to form a satisfactory love relationship. Exasperated with his life style he decides to become a cad: that must be what women (and men) want. He reverses his nice guy tactic and begins telling everyone he encounters just how he feels - and that is usually negative! The only person who doesn't but into his change is his roommate Allison (Poppy Montgomery) who is bisexual and therefore not wholly available. He decides to leave Los Angeles and move to the East Coast where a lucrative deal awaits him to write the memoirs of a famous man. At the last moment he meets one Val (Jennifer Westfeldt), an animal activist: the chemistry is there but each has a conflicting program. Owen is honest with her, a factor that does not chase her away, but both part ways to other parts of the world. Upon return to LA after a disappointing experience on the East Coast, tables turn and surprises arise. And the ending is a mixture of silly and unsatisfying.
Movies like this are meant to entertain and some of the dialogue is clever albeit acerbic. It just that the idea of relationship examination under these terms is so worn out that the movie just doesn't spark any innovative thoughts. After about thirty minutes into the film this 'audience' lost interest. Grady Harp, September 06
Excellent........2006-03-27
I loved the movie. My wife, a friend and I watched it together and found ourselves laughing really hard. We also loved the relationships and character development and the great ending. A definite must for anyone who loves a good movie and loves to laugh!
Good Movie! At least rent it!.......2006-03-21
I just watched this movie for the first time and I enjoyed the interesting twist that it takes on love. Paul Schneider's character is trying desparately to get out of LA and basically meets a girl at the last minute that changes his life and makes his escape much more difficult than even he could've imagined. It has funny, sad and sweet moments. If you like any of Paul Schneiders other movies (All the real girls, Elizabethtown) then I think you'd like this! He's a great actor I think he'll become an even bigger name in hollywood in the coming years. Enjoy the film with friends or a loved one it's a great flick to see with people you care about. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it can get a slow at times, and quite dark. But the payoff at the end is certainly worth it, something you can see coming but you enjoy seeing the characters finally realize what we had known almost all along! Hope this helps!

Great price for great DVDs.......2005-09-13
Good communication from this seller, and great price! Thanks.
Great for home or school.......2004-11-28
I have this collection and collection 1 and both are invaluable at home with my son who is 10 and likes to "play" in the DVD and for school in my Kindergarten class. Read the books to your children first and see how excited they get when they can watch the book. The addition of great readers and music really brings the stories alive. But remember, they don't take the place of you reading to your child every night!

Harmonica virtuoso Howard Levy has mastered the awesome technique of playing chromatically on a basic ten-hole harmonica. Now he teaches you how he does it through the use of bends, overblows, overdraws and other challenging techniques. With some harp experience and the desire to move into dynamic new musical territory, you'll soon be playing blues, classical, jazz, pop or Latin tunes while gaining valuable insights into the harmonica's full potential.
Review:
"You owe it to yourself to check out Howard Levy's new teaching video . . . Howard may change your mind, and if you're serious about your music, he might even change your life. . . . The techniques Howard talks about are advanced techniques, but the video is so comprehensive that it is valuable to you even if you are a beginner because (it) demonstrates that there is virtually no limit to where you can take your instrument." -- American Harmonica Newsletter

incredible.......2007-07-22
It is fantastic. And, the music theory helped my guitar playing. Even if you don not play the harmonica, this is a great lesson in music.

The two programs on this DVD feature psychotherapist and bestselling author Dr. Wayne Dyer, who offers pointers on getting what you "really, really, really, really" want (each "really" turns out to be significant) as well as a lecture entitled "Improve Your Life Using the Wisdom of the Ages." Dyer's books have been very successful over the past two decades, and those who feel they've benefited from his approachable blend of pop psychology and inspirational speaking will no doubt find much value in what he says in these lectures. Despite an overblown introduction that describes him as "America's foremost teacher of transformational wisdom," Dyer comes across as a knowledgeable yet self-effacing fellow in a comfortable sweater. With a plain-spoken style sprinkled with references to his wife and their eight children, as well as copious mentions of literary figures, teachers, and healers from a broad range of cultures, he devotes more than an hour to describing how you can determine what you really want and how you can go about getting it by returning to "your sacred, higher self." In the second lecture on this disc, Dyer, by utilizing examples from what he calls "ancient wisdom," talks at some length about "finding within yourself what you are here for." --Robert J. McNamara
Customer Reviews:
We all want "it ", the question is, "How to get it"?.......2006-03-10
This is one of his best work. It is very easy to want something, the tricky part is to manifest it. The lecture is easy and straight forward. Some people feel that to manifest something you have to be worthy of it, or spend long hours visualizing, chanting or dreaming, because if not life will not reward you. There is nothing wrong with lengthy techniques themselves but the question is, how come there is so many unethical people exuding success? Aha, good question. Could it be that they align themselves with success, expecting it as the sunrise? Not doubting, for a second that their Universe is friendly toward them. How can many good people do not achieve their dreams? It is lack of focus, intelligence, hard work or maybe a lack of the right methodology? Well, Wayne can show you the way. I like it, simple but not simple minded.
The beginning of an AMAZING Journey.......2006-01-12
I first viewed this material "How to Get What You Really, Really, Really, Really Want" back in 2002 ... now, four years later, in 2006, I can say that what I learned from this material and the inspiration I gained from it has completely changed my life. At the time I first saw this program, I was lost, depressed, afraid and at the end of my rope. I had spent 39 years of my life struggling to find a balance of success, happiness and fulfillment and felt like I was failing utterly at all three. I was HUNGRY for something that really made sense AND that really WORKED. One night, when I was lying awake in bed with nothing to do, I stumbled on this program on PBS ... I KNEW something important had happened.
I could tell you how amazing the ideas are in this program and what I think they mean ... but what I want to tell you is something a lot more important. I USED what I learned here ... and I built on it ... I took what Dr. Dyer offered here, went out and learned more, applied what I learned in my life ... changed how I looked at life and how I LIVED life ... day by day ... and I have completely changed my life, for the better. Then, I was lost, lonely, unhappy, afraid ... not any more. The last three years of my life have been the happiest, most fulfilling most successful I have ever experienced. And THIS program is where it began for me. THIS is where it started. Since viewing this program, I have read many other books by Dr. Dyer and others ... viewed and listened to a lot of other programs ... made HUGE changes to my life ... inside and outside ... and SO much has changed and it's ALL for the better. I am now happy, loved, in love, successful, fulfilled, filled with peace and confidence ... I AM where I once thought I never could be. And I can tell you that THIS program is where it began for me. I remember it QUITE clearly. THIS is where it all started.
I posted this review largely in response to the person who wrote a rather scathing review of this program and gave it one star. Here is my response. A) No self help material ever written can be used by everyone, without regard to where they are in life. Each of us has to find the material suited for who we are and where we are in our journey. Clearly, this wasn't what this person needed. B) I studied, researched and applied what I learned here ... I WORKED at it ... I didn't just read it and toss it aside. I TRIED it ... I LIVED it ... and it HAS changed my life completely. YOU, as a potential viewer, have to decide which of these two assessments speaks to YOU. If this sounds like something you couldn't possibly benefit from ... maybe you're right. All I can tell you is my personal experience ... I viewed it ... dug into it ... studied it in depth ... researched it for 2 years ... applied it for 4 years ... added to it ... LIVED IT ... and my life is completely changed.
Decide for yourself. :)
recycled,repackaged and re-SOLD !.......2005-11-07
Materialistic western civilization had always been fertile soil for Dyer and the likes (another example: Anthony Robbins "borrowing" NLP to build his own multimillion $$$ empire)). Recycling what is mostly ancient spiritual wisdom, injecting a few metaphors, pathetic garbage and a lousy sense of humor they are laughing all the way to the bank. You have to be dumb, naive or desperate to buy into that. Either way, it's highly dishonest to take advantage of one's weaknesses and/or flaws. Despicable and poor - don't waste your time and cash.
Wayne Dyer talks to the soul........2003-03-27
This is a must for those who want to better understand the inner workings of the soul. Wayne Dyer gives a no frills talk that gets you thinking. Simple yet powerful. It's an easy call, buy it and enjoy it many times.
Wayne Dyer at his best.......2002-12-05
No need to buy his books when you can absorb all he has to teach in video on the two tapes. His idealism is intoxicating and realistic. If you have the spiritual capacity to (which many people don't have)to enjoy a tape like these your on the right path to making the best of your plight given to you and maybe changing it.
